Guppie breader here, and You probably already know this, but the male is actually trying to encourage her to give birth so he can eat the live young, he does this by prodding her underneath, she is clearly very much already pregnant for sure, I would suggest moving her into a birthing box but that defeats the point of your experiment, but for anyone watching with guppies at home then I'd definitely recommend a birthing box for the little ones , watching guppies give birth is amazing to watch no matter how many times I see it it still amazes me
Baby Guppies also do well if you can give them lots of places to hide from the adults and predators. My Brother used to use adult guppies as feeders for his Oscar. i kind of made him put in hides and lots of plants for them and our population exploded after Oscar passed we where giving them away we had so many
I thought the same thing. She's very pregnant and he wants her to give birth. Not only for food but to also breed again. Like Dan said, I don't think he knows this. I use to breed not only guppies but also swordtails, mollies and platies. It was amazing watching all of them give birth. I used birthing boxes for most of them, especially when breeding for certain colors and/or patterns.

4:48 these are called bladder snails and most people veiw them as pests because of how fast they reproduce. They are really cool and are some of my favorite creatures. I used to collect them at the lake I grew up by and put them in plastic containers to watch them mate and eat. Their eggs are like little droplets of jelly and can hatch hundreds of babies! They are called bladder snails because they have an air pocket in their shell that allows them to control their buoyancy and float up or sink. I used to have them in my fish tank and it’s so cool to watch them fly through the water to get to the surface. In a fish tank where the water is relatively calm, they can crawl upside down on the surface of the water just using the surface tension. Definitely an underrated species!

@AntsCanada you should totally add in leaf bugs!! You probably already know but they live in the southern Asian region and I feel would be a perfect fit for orchadia with the amount of leaves that are popping up now!!
This series made me realize how biodiverse our country is. Growing up as a kid who loves animals, i was always confused as to why they label Philippines as one of the most biodiverse countries in the world i mean we dont have tigers here and stuffs i was always jealous and hope to live in other countries just for the animals 😭turns out i just wasnt looking and was too focused on what is lacking.
It's absolutely fantastic to see such a diverse array of animals in my ecosystem. The opportunity to study their hunting behaviors and other habits is incredibly fascinating to me. I hope to one day expand my ecosystem to be as magnificent as yours, and perhaps even include larger animals like spiders, snakes, and more.

Beautiful morning in Southern California, stuck at work, love having this series every Sunday at work. Thanks AC as always!
The amount of "surprise" beetles is amazing! I love how the variaty is ever growing, even without us knowing. Mother Nature is awesome that way.
Seiing the Dwarf Ants always makes me happy, even if it is for just a few seconds, they are the cutest! And the Golden Spineys ... what a clever entrance!
The beginning of this episode, and well into it as well, totally gave me extra Jurrasic Park vibes: love it! And the storytelling was epic! Thank you for all your hard work. 🥰
the golden spinies are sooo beautiful & regal 🤩
Thanks for the channel AntsCanada, I love it!
I get up early in the morning, *on the weekend,* just for this show. I'm never disappointed. Today, you actually showed an ant stinging -- I've never explicitly seen that happen before! So many other things too, but I always find something I've never seen before here. Please keep this ecosystem running for a long, long time! ❤️
Wow, thank you!
Sundays are my favorite
Why doesn't he upload on Saturday? We are not worried about Monday on Saturday.
same
@@Topic_YoSo true
@@Topic_Yomaybe more living in today and not so much worrying about tomorrow
@@master_zar Love it!
Randomly stumbled across your videos and stayed up until 4 am last night watching A LOT of catching up episodes. Only to be blessed with this the next day, incredibly informative, scientific, and mesmerising simulation/experiment you have going. I’ll be locked in every week to see where this goes, especially next week with that teaser at the end
Man I remember this happening to me years ago with this channel. Isn't he just the best 🤣
I'm in love with that millipede, It's beautiful! I will call him (or her) the redline
Wow I can’t believe I’ve been here for 9 months! Love this series so much!
Yay! Thank you!
Oh an ophidian is getting on the stage.
I'd suggest a Brahminy blind snake would be cool since they are relatively tiny in size!.
Also the eat ants. What a wonderful suggestion
That bubblegum weevil is very pretty but that first weevil lad is a God-damn 2-pump legend and I will not hear otherwise!
Still miss Rocksteady though
@AntsCanada you should totally add in leaf bugs!! You probably already know but they live in the southern Asian region and I feel would be a perfect fit for orchadia with the amount of leaves that are popping up now!!
8:47 I love the Jumping Spider so much, he looks like he has such a good time
Sundays are my favourite, vivarium series after the f1 race
Or in my case, before F1! I only get the highlights a few hours after the race, but that's okay, I have this to keep me enthralled!
@@y_fam_goeglyd try F1 Gamer 's livestream, he does good commentary
Thanks for a great 9 months. To many more 🎉
Content keeps getting better and better, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
4:59 Feels like I can almost see the cellular structures of the leaf, that is some SERIOUSLY nice camera gear & work.
Yes to the egg. A very natural way to introduce a new aspect to tge vivarium.
I would love you see reptile life
amen !🙏
SUNDAYS ARE FOR THE AC FAMILYYYY
It feels like I just started watching the first episode. Here's to the next 9 months.
I will look forward to the next episode! It has been a fun ride following along with you.
More to come!
Deym love this back then when i was young i used to loved makin ant my pets putting them in aquarium
Its official, you have made watching a creature carrying poop interesting. Thank you for sharing this journey with us all. I am still in aww thats its been 9 months Already, love every episode.
We also did. Since episode 1. Many of us are still intrigued and hooked
This type of vivarium owning is on my bucket list and so solid to see you have grown from flooding fire ant enclosures to...this! If/when you add another tank, I suggest that it be a mostly blank slate holding only soil and another tree stump for the other terrariums to expand into.
Edit : typo fix
So excited for the new egg.
Snake...?
Your story lines are wonderful and imaginative. Thx for the best in reality shows. Better than any TV programs.
The word "ecosystem" is thrown around a lot these days but you sir, you are actually doing it
That wait during COVID for your house is so worth it now, felt like it kept getting delayed and delayed but we’re already here love this series
18:12 That red millipede is absolutely STUNNING!! 🤩❤️
Can't imagine living in a place where you can casually find a snake's egg in your backyard. The outdoors is probably as captivating as the indoors :)
its the kind of snake eggs you should worie about lol
The aerial shots of his property are gorgeous, it's almost like his house is part of a much larger pantdorian ecosystem and he's living in his own hallelujah tree stump 😂
@@Loan--Wolf what kind of egg is it?
Probably? Certainly!
@@pauldejoseph2006I honestly think it’s a ball python egg, though I’m unsure on what type of ball python it would be I would say it’s one of those. Plus, according to a video posted a bit earlier, ants Canada did mention at the end he wanted to add a ball python.
