Welcome my friends to a new Skyrim series: Life as a thief. In this episode, we try to pull off a heist of the Whiterun vaults. If you like what you see feel free to leave a like and if you want to see more consider subscribing.

I realize this series is quite old by now, but what i like to do when robbing places is grab any ingredients i find since they can be made into potions which then don't count as stolen goods and can be sold anywhere. It's thematic too, like the fantasy equivalent of cutting gems so they can't be identified.
I'm literally doing a character right now that does this lol

I do that with Hides, leather and Raw ore (silver, gold, Iron etc) whenever I play as a thief
If you ever decide to reboot this series, I would highly recommend Localized Thieves Guild Jobs. It's a mod that lets you choose which city to do Vex and Delvin's side jobs in. Also, Valuables Worth Stealing, which adjusts the value of items like the silverware so they're actually worth what they're made of; silver.
Trustinlie's Price Overhaul would also compliment it, as it adjusts the price of all items in the game to be a collective sum of the value of all the things it takes to make them. So a suit of elven armor runs for about 2500 gold, but the moonstone needed to make them is also about 500 a bar. Sneak Tools and Skyrim Sewers would also be great additions.
Finally, there's The Hideaway or The Well. Both are Hearthfire style buildable homes suited for thieves. The Hideaway is a cave player home in the mountains that separate Whiterun Hol from The Pale. The Well is a player home built into an abandoned well a stone's throw outside of Riften. These are all must-have mods for me if I do a thief playhrough.

In my play through I’ve sworn off save scumming

Great idea, but my thousands of hours of stealth archer playtime makes my eyes bleed when you keep standing up in illegal locations. Fun watch, good series, can't wait for you to get the hang of illicit activities.

Being a thief not in the Thieves Guild is a terrible way to live.
You could steal a million septims worth of gold and jewels, but then Maven Blackbriar gets all jealous so she has the Thieves Guild steal it all from you. All you have left is a letter that says,
"Get fucked. Love, Maven."

@@shirtlessdude2935I believe that without mods NPCs can’t take stuff out of your inventory, besides guards taking your stolen goods when they arrest you or you pay your bounty. I’ve been mugged but it’s just a random encounter (well by mugged I mean he tried and then I killed him)
So no, though I think it would be super cool to have thieves guild members sent after you by maven if you collect a lot of stolen goods, and they could hold you up

ahh, if only shenk was complete. that looks like something I'd want to tackle. With some NPC knockout overhaul, which is probably a bit more robust than the little blackjack if you want something for ko's next time you play someone nonlethal. it could also work for a pacifist kinda person, cause bleed-out kos also, and it seems to work in combat too, provided you can get behind someone in time to land a sneak bash. which combos well with the "quick reflexes" temporary "until you do an action" time slow you can get from witch hunter spell pack (don't let the name fool you, it's got a variety of power button casted support kinda spells) and some shenanigans like ghost walk from apocalypse. Try sneaking from the shadows with ghost walk invis, to bash a dude out and then get tp'd back to your safespot just after it lands, or just after you reverse pickpocket a stun poison or steal a key etc. it works wonders.
If you want to be a thief learn from a master like Garrett.

playing as a thief is basiclly all I do when the moons aline and I actually got to play skyrim, so this mod would be right down my ally

I'm usually always playing a mix of all the character types my first run; Warrior, Archer, Thief, Spell-Sword, Assassin. Might play a focused playthrough as a Thief next time I play.

That wasn’t a kid, just a guard who was standing on a lower platform. But the tool he’s using to knock someone out is from sneak tools and if you want to knock out kids get killable children.
