  • While this COVID-19 is happening it gives me a chance to get a few more things done to my 4WD I call "Caspa" as in the white ghost that goes everywhere.
In this video, I'm showing how I changed over the driver's bucket seat for a newer and better condition seat and also changed over to a new seatbelt.
This is on my 80 series Toyota Landcruiser 1992 model
This is part 1 of 2, in part 2 I show how I changed over the 3/4 seat and fitted a newer bucket seat and a new seatbelt.
This is another video in the series of updates on "Caspa" My 80 series 1992 Toyota Landcruiser wagon that I purchased in 2018. I am slowly doing up ready to start using as a daily driver and also for getting away camping and visiting more of Australia with.
Follow my journey as I get it ready to use, most of the mechanical work I try to do myself saving money but there are just some jobs I cannot do due to lack of equipment and some tools or the appropriate mechanical knowledge and experience etc..
All corrective work since I purchased the vehicle in December 2018 is carried out by me. Issues and Fun related to doing 4WD repairs yourself.
** Disclaimer. I am not a qualified mechanic. I am self-taught and everything I have learnt is through experience or from finding out information myself via asking questions of qualified mechanics or via TH-cam over the years. If You are unsure what to do, please ask or get a qualified mechanic to do the job for you.
I am based in the inner western suburbs of Melbourne Victoria Australia.
    Thanks for watching.
    Tim.

    Great Vid Tim,
I have exactly the same year make and model as you. Do you know if we can remove the bench passenger seat to a single?

Hi Daniel, Yes that is exactly what I did in the next video part 2 which was the rest of this video.. I have just finished editing it and about to upload it in the next few days.. sorry, it has taken soo long but I have been busy with work lately and forgot about uploading the rest of this video. It should be online before the end of the week.

Hi Tim. I have the same problem with my seats. Been struggling to find a decent pair of front seats here in Adelaide. Any thoughts on refurbishing the old ones? Some have told me it does not last long enough. Not sure how correct this is.

Hi Duncan, I was lucky enough to find this set of decent seats through eBay locally (well a 3 hr drive each way but it was worth the money saved), and at a very reasonable price.
Through Job Access, I am now being given a Stratos 3000 LTSS suspension seat to suit my vehicle and with lumbar airbag support which will be fully fitted shortly, which is due to my vehicle being part of my job.
Here is a link to the website for the seat www.stratos.com.au/Page/stratos-3000-ltss
I will probably make a video showing the old chair that is shown in this video and the new suspension seat in place fully fitted (it has to be fitted by qualified persons for ADR and legal reasons as I am not a qualified fitting agent).
I will be putting the driver's seat shown here and both the previous front seats which were in the vehicle when I purchased it up for sale on eBay unless you, Duncan, are interested in purchasing this or any of these items at a reasonable price and paying freight from Melb to you... something we can discuss if you are interested, shoot me an email if you are.
I have looked at getting my previous seats reupholstered but the cost is very high and no guarantee that this would last more than 5 years from several upholsterers that I asked and, me not working for a long time previously up until now, I have not had the money so, for me, it was not something I was prepared to look further into so I just kept looking on eBay and Gumtree for better quality seats than I previously had.
I hope you are all well and safe over there. Tim.
