i think stories of LoL has realy good potential. Theres a huge audience of 'older' lol players that love to reminisce about their favourite version of x champ or which season was the best etc.

I think Stories of LoL (or whatever you want to name it, but I like this one- and LoL is my "home turf" when it comes to games in general; it's just the common and easy shorthand term. League is also a common substitute. Stories of The Rift screams Lore to me, but I may be alone in that interpretation- usually when people use the "actual" names for things, it's in the context of lore or because they're a pro caster and they're literally required to do that for the sake of viewers who don't know what "[Champion Name]'s Q!" means) is an excellent idea. It's a content space that is almost entirely untapped- it was in Dota as well, and I believe that is a large part of that channel's success, on top of the fact that the quality of the videos are super high right out the gate. An untapped market niche for a genuinely interesting subject. It's shocking, to be frank, considering how long lol has been around and how *massive* its E-sports scene was/is. I've no doubt you will find huge success there and, I predict, even moreso than with Stories of Dota by sheer virtue of the size of LoL's community vs Dota's (despite the glut of LoL content- precisely because its a type that is basically unheard of)

Funnily enough, about the "stories of dota viewer base section" I didn't know it was baumi going into it (haven't watched the channel for years only just recently started watching again) and was pleasantly surprised when I noticed it was baumi making the videos.

Same here. It showed up after I watched a bit of other Dota stuff (recently got back into some casual Turbo with friends) and the voice was so familiar I had to go looking. Some crazy nostalgia from watching old custom games.

Been the one guy who was like "Baumi, you're not going to be able to make the research for Stories of Lol because you don't have the headstrat you have for Dota" in the comment section of the last video, I feel like I need to say something now, after being called out.
I realise now how my words were offensive, and I apologise. Given the amount of work Baumi is very much capable and willing of doing when it comes to stuff like this, it was pretty dumb of me to imply otherwise. However, I still think that in the context of the discussion he was making in that video, which was one more concerned with the convenience of things, he is a bit underestimating the value he uniquely brings to Stories of Dota as a channel. It's true that he knew basically nothing about the Internationals' meta before, but he still knows Dota incredibly well, has played with pretty much every hero in the game for countless hourse and has thought about Dota's game design for a longer time than I probably even played the game. If I did the same exact work he did, with the spreadsheets and all, I wouldn't be able to make the same videos as he does, because what truly makes them special is the consequentiality he manages to establish between all the changes in the meta and the ones in the respective hero's viability. He wouldn't be able to provide that same level of quality in a game he doesn't know, at least not before studying it for a very long time, in an effort which could probably be better spent finding a proper writer who could do that work for him.
That being said, I am now 100% convinced that he should just go for it, however much time and effort it takes, and that's for a simple reason: it is now apparent to me, and it wasn't before, that he just actually wants to do it, and I totally get that. This is something which goes beyond the convenience of things: it's about artistic expression in a way, and Baumi's art is found in the ability to analyse, project and ultimately make videos about game design in all of its different forms. And I think that he's not only capable of, but he should just pursue this new venture because it genuinely seems like a bit of fun to progressively grapple with and get to know a game as vast, popular and important as Lol.
This was a bit longer than I wanted it to, but the ultimate message is this: Baumi, more power to you, you have never let us down with any of your projects, and whatever you ultimately decide to do, just know that we will be watching.

its important to note for the stories of league, that you already have a format and already know how to find the information your looking for which will give you a huge advantage compared to when you started stories of dota.

  • @sudeepcoolbanerjee

I realised something lately. I’ve had your videos play in the background as I navigated through my residency (2020-2023, Miki studying to become a doctor was awesome news to me) . Just playing in the background as I’d get ready in the morning, get breakfast, and get to the wards for my morning rounds, or to the OR. Days when I didn’t want to do anything, had no energy to get out of bed, I’d play a video in the background, and slowly start whatever I had to do next. So, thank you. I owe you a ton for being a safe space all through these years.
I think that’s part of why the stories channel works. You’re awesome. But the regular channel, has your own life’s angst. Which, I mean, you’re human. We all do. But that safe space….. I enjoy it over stories of DotA more. You being real, and sharing your likes, interests, and thoughts, it’s awesome. We’re both about the same age, and I think you’re cool. But when you struggle, we all struggle a bit. And when one is on YT to escape, or task bundle with something else that needs doing, it becomes another thing to overcome. I hope this makes sense. The difference between the regular channel and Stories from this perspective.
Make your decisions, they should make sense only to you. And good luck with whatever comes next. (About League channel, Stories, and the main channel.)

As a long-time Watcher only, I think you are free to pump out the content you want. It is your decision anyway.
I think that some people are worrying that the Quality of Existing Channels may drop due to the addition of a new Channel.
Anyway, that is just a theory.

As a long time League and recent Dota player, I think Stories of League is absolutely a fantastic concept, and I think it has even more potential than Stories of Dota seeing how League is the more popular game. There's already a couple of channels that dive into the history of the game (namely Gbay99 and Exil, for example) but Stories of Dota goes way more in depth compared to other channels.
The only feedback I have for this is that I'd love to see the performance of the character in their normal pub/soloq be a bit more prominent. I know the video focuses in the competitive history, but the video for PA for example made it look like a bad hero for the entire history of the game when it mostly applies for coordinated play. Even just as a sidenote of "meanwhile this champion was terrorizing soloq" sort of thing.
Anyway, hope everything works out and I'll absolutely watch the League videos when they come out. Good luck, Baumi! ❤

    • @jazzy4830
      @jazzy4830 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

If negative feedback provides you with an issue to address, it is therefore constructive even if provided spitefully. Yes men help maintain your confidence but do very little to push you to grow and change. An inability to deal with negative feedback just points to insecurity in a creator. Negativity discourages creation but Positivity encourages stagnation, balance is needed.

If the couple random videos about League championship stories is anything to go off of, following the history of a champion from start to finish and their performance in major tournaments is actually extremely interesting content. Especially since, from what I've seen, the highest level of the game is played nothing like what 95% of most people play. And a lot of people really enjoyed the older versions of the game, it will be interesting to see the evolution of champions and playstyle over time.

Baumi! You asking us not to be negative is a terrible idea. You are assuming that youtube users have enough integrity and discipline to avoid their most intrinsic troll spirit. Your incessant complain about such an obviously situation makes me wonder if you have acted as perfunctorily in your other life decision, including streaming dota custom games-which is a terrible idea. In light of your recently unveiled mental inadequacy, I strongly recommend that you immediately present the youtube with your other important life decisions so that hopefully you can figure out your life. I would like to share my opinions about your choice of life companions and underwear, however these need to be postponed as I, like other trolls, lack the ability to read or write any article that is too long. Unfortunately, you cannot DM me to receive my counsel, because I refuse to take responsibility for my statements in any manner. I hope you can turn around your miserable life.

Dude, I am a dota player, I don't like LoL and don't care about its stories. I've been watching your content for years and with pleasure will watch dota stories from you. But LoL.. nah man, don't really feel it

Agree with this the most, I like doto and will watch any baumi doto content, I watched and enjoyed every story of dota video and most main channel videos except 1x6 but I’ll never stoop to league xD

@@beak_essence- Is stories of dota already uploaded content? Well, maybe Baumi should talk more about his content and leave links maybe
