I think the same thing. Me and my daughter sit on the dock with cane poles sometimes. It -2 right now here in Il and I am dreaming of spring thanks for watching.
@@countrydirtkid4451 that's a blessing for her to have a farther who does his roll as a farther, thas a great thing, I know she enjoys those special moments, & it's nice to enjoy the videos, thanks,
I used surgical tube for years too. Seams that dip bait stays on longer because of the texture alone. I even use circle hooks with them. Save money is the deal. I fish the Kaskaskia river down to Carlyle lake. Getting time for them whiskers to start up again. God bless my friend.
Thanks for watching this is the rock river in NW Il, it’s going to be a good season coming up. Even though cheese bait cost money up front you get 1000 cast out of each bucket. Where I’m at it’s going to be another 2 months for the fishing to kick in. Thanks again.
@@countrydirtkid4451 do you get buckets of scrap cheese? I use Sonny’s or triple S what it’s called now. That’s what’s available around here SC Illinois.
The screw eyes are #212 X 15/16 and the tubing is latex 3/8" OD This works best if you enlarge the holes in the weights with an ice pick or something like that. I also put grease or oil on the threads of the screw eyes to cut down on friction when screwing them into lead. good luck out there
I use M n M Bait cheese which is just plain old bad cheese from a factory in Wisconsin. The reason why it looks weird colored is because I left it in a hot shed for a couple months

Wait...you mean you're not supposed to tighten the drag knob as tight as it will go with a pliers and never think about it again? 😀
For fish as big as Tom catches, I don!t recommend it
What kind of cheese do you use? And why does it look red?

We just ran out of latex tubing today. I brought some cut pieces of cellulose sponges to use. They work ok but get water in the cheese bait.
