Summer in Australia gets pretty hot, if you plug fridge and contents (the fuller the fridge the better) into mains power overnight before you leave then hook up 12 volt power from car to trailer to keep fridge powered up whist driving, also add a frozen bottle of water inside fridge also reduces power needed when hooked to 12 volt. You can also get an insulated cover for fridge to help in Summer … 🍻

More than the battery, ECO mode makes the compressor last longer and break in better. I never use MAX. I also tie a string loop through the grille and pass the cord through it so it won't kink at the plug.

@@TinyCabinLife hanging Multiple solar panels of the type that van lifers mount to the roofs of their minivan and larger might make your trailer dangerously too heavy. An alternative would be on each side of the cabin having mounts for STORING a large solar panel and a collapsible stand so that the panels can be set up on the ground nearby and then hooked up to whatever battery bank you find a place for in the canon.
Same thing for your A-frame cabin (might as well use the same solar panels ). Some panels that can be placed out in the daytime to soak in the sunlight and then stored away at night

The spot I have is 14 and 1/8 wide - its says like 13.6 wide but I noticed that the item flairs out a bit on the sides midway up. Is the 13.6 wide from the base or from the widest part? My dilemma is the widest part cant be more then 14 and an eight...do you know or can you look?

The fridge and battery will be tested in summer. Overnight in cold conditions will not push your battery or fridge with respect to performance and power consumption.
I would certainly consider apologising for slightly misleading viewers of this particular video.

    • @TinyCabinLife

I didn’t mislead anybody. It absolutely works well. We can check back in on it in the summertime 👍🏽

    • @PetraKann
      @PetraKann ปีที่แล้ว

@@TinyCabinLife You wouldnt test an air conditioner on a cold snowy night right?
Why would you test a fridge under these conditions and claim that an overnight drain of the battery from to 92% is a great result?
I would want to know how the system performance on an average Summer day - that;s when you need the fridge to perform. Especially if you have meats, dairy etc int eh fridge.
It would have been useful to inform listeners that the performance of this battery and fridge set up does not reflect typical conditions. We wouldn't want people buying this set up thinking they can have over 1 weeks power supply for a fridge of this capacity.
Do you reaslie how hot it gets in Australia my friend? Your set-up wouldnt last long in our conditions before needing a re-charge.
My experience of these fridges when I go camping and fishing is that I need the car cigarette socket handy for regular charges and a solar panel set up that runs during the day. In summer it's a necessity in order to keep the fridge running properly.
I would still apologise or at least modify your video with some warnings on the limitations of your test.

@@TinyCabinLife You do realise that I am just having some fun here.
But I am nevertheless correct in my critique of your appallingly limited and meaningless fridge/power supply experiment.
On that basis alone you should submit a formal apology and modify your video in order to warn viewers before they purchase any of the products included in your test.
Whether someone apologises or not is totally independent of the size of the house they sleep in, so you cant hide in your 34 square foot trailer forever my friend
