  • Some jigsaws have a missing piece - which is very frustrating. This video shows how you can make a good quality copy of the missing piece yourself. No unusual or expensive equipment is needed and no special skills are required. The tools and materials, like the Sugru putty, are readily available. Good luck!

It’s just tragic having made all the efforts of assembling a puzzle only to find one missing piece 🧩!! The horror !💀💀💀

Sugru isn't available anywhere near where I live. Is there an alternative material that you're aware of? I really want to try this method.

Hi Monica, what a good question!
I bought my Sugru from Amazon but let’s assume you can’t where you live.
So I Googled “alternatives to Sugru” and got quite a list. The best ideas, which I haven’t actually tried, seem to be: Oogoo, a homemade mix of bathroom silicone sealer and cornstarch. The sealer is available from hardware stores. You only need a little. Disadvantage is it has quite a quick working time so mix and use, secondly epoxy putty used by plumbers for repairs. It’s in two pastes you mix together available from hardware stores. Disadvantage may be the set putty sticks to everything. Thirdly, kids modelling clay. Leave to dry then remove and bake in the oven. Disadvantage, it may be a bit fragile. Finally, you need Sugru because the photographic paper is thinner than the cardboard jigsaw, so try making a backing piece out of cardboard. Disadvantage, it will be tough cutting out the shape.
Good luck and if you succeed, let me know.
      Nick

Best video I've seen so far - I'm going with this method. Since I'll be glueing the puzzle then framing it, I won't go into matching the colors & the missing piece is at the bottom of the puzzle so will most likely go unnoticed 🧩

How did you make the piece???

If you watch the video it tells you. Make a matching photo, cut out the correct piece of the photo and stick it in place with some special putty.

It will take longer for four pieces, but not four times longer.

LOL This is not an easy way to replace a missing puzzle piece. "Easy" doesn't mean needing this and that and oh yeah, that too. ;)
