This is perhaps the coolest thing I have ever seen btw, I couldn't fit that in the other comment. That Vaporeon ability is indeed an insanely cool idea and I love everything about this video. Thank you for building all of it
This is really good! As a Pokemon and SAP fan, I was geeking out the whole video. You did a great job with thr abilities, too; they were all fun and unique while still making sense for each Pokemon chosen. Well done!
A cool other ability to bulbasaur is using its most known move, leech seed. It could be something like Enemy hurt: give them the seeded ailment. Works 1/2/3 times per turn Seeded:Hurt; Take 2 damage and heal the pet who hurt you 2 HP
Problem: If lvl 3 snorlax had an onion with a tiger behind it, the only things that could kill it would be behemoth or snipes (or crits, or steaks). If you paired it with a blueberry ghost kitten, it would be absurd.
For Snorlax I think making it immovable would be more fitting, making it immune to eggplant seahorse donkey etc It could even be the same as the scorpion, not getting anything on level up, it's been a while since the last one, microbe I think?
A special set of ailments for a pokemon pack would probably make a lot of sense and make designing some of them a little easier. Heres my take x3 Paralysis: either pet deals significantly less damage per attack, or ability does not work once. The former would be slightly more powerful then ink, the latter would be kinda like dazed and be powerful but possible to build around (things like snake could brush it off quickly with multiple triggers) Burn: already handled well by crisp, no need to reinvent the wheel x3 Though it does also reduce physical attack; pokemon that specialize in crisp could additionally lower the targets attack by a little bit. Poison: deal 2 damage to pet after any pet attacks. Basically a weaker version of crisp thats persistent. Would be really strong early but fall off as things scale. Would also be countered or even diserable for hurt builds! Toxic: probably a special ailment used by only one or two higher tier pokemon. Basically poison, but the damage doubles every time, so 2, 4, 8, 16, etc. very powerful if it manages to hit the backline, may need nerfs if it ever got made x3 Frozen: pet visibly appears in an ice block, just like freezing in the shop x3 pet deals 0 damage twice. Just like in pokemon, this effect should be rare and only have a small chance of being applied by enemy abilities. Confusion: after attack, pet damages self for 1/4th of their attack stat, rounded up. Ailment disappears after triggered, like crisp. Might not be all that necessary, tho if zubat was added it'd definitely be their signature ailment x3 A lot of fun to think about, great video :3
Those are cool ideas! I had a similar idea with frozen, except it would be a deal no damage, take no damage, once ailment. I like things you really have to build around
I like how mewtwo works but I’d also add in to the ability’s description (cannot receive experience from other sources that isn’t a copy) as it’s very imbalanced to have a pet essentially be a potential 3x trade on its own.
Yeah, Mewtwo needs some balance changes. What I had in mind is changing the trigger to "instead of attack" so it's still taking damage, and not cancelling pets before they attack
This would be awesome, unfortunately the Pokémon IP probably costs to much for teamwood and I doubt Pokémon would let them use it without paying a lot of money. But if this happened I would be so excited.
I actually just came back to this video because I had an idea for the Magikarp/Gyrados! What if, instead of on level up, Magikarp is a Tier 4 or 5 1/1 with the ability: "Knock Out: Permanently transform into Gyrados and gain permanent +8/+8." which increases to +16/+16 and +24/+24. Getting a 1/1 in the game late would be difficult, and getting that 1/1 enough stats to get a Knock Out would be even more so but also gaining the extra stats would be good for Gyados's ability. I also wanted to just throw this out there because I think the idea of a pet that permanently transforms in battle is p cool and unique.

@@Le__Bun yeah its a SUPER niche use case and only a true softlock if both teams have it If spawned units were locked to level 1 the issue would also be fixed immediately.
I really like mew but I feel like it should be a tier 5. I like mewtwo but I don’t like how you get it. I feel like it’s too broken for the way you can get it. I think that it should either be weaker like the enemy takes 20% of its attack, or mewtwo should be harder to get. Like if you give any tier 6 a Konpeito it has a 1 in 100 chance of transforming into mewtwo
Lol, I was worried mew is too good for t6, honestly. As for mewtwo, yeah I think it's probably too strong. I think in revision notes, I'm going to make it "instead of attack" rather than before attack
Cool but ohhhhhhhhh my goddddd... Main gripe I have is that eevee is HORRIBLY complicated. I also am a BIG hater for "direct" interactions like bad dog and questing beast and would rather put nice interactions and combos as simple as possible like microbe and turtle. Adds an unecessary layer of complexity to a game designed to be simple-to-learn hard-to-master But yeah. I think all the eeveelutions could be separate pets, because they're cool. I know this distracts it for the theme, but you don't have to focus on all of the theme (e.g. duck doesn't lay an egg on sell that transforms into a duckling when something happens), just enough theme while maintaining balance of other factors. Jolteon is nice
If you're referring to questing beast's toy selection on sell, I'd imagine it would choose at random, and as far as eevees go, if Old Mouse can have 8 pages of stuff, I'm okay with eevee having the same, lol. Not entirely sure what you're referring to with direct interactions, though
@@godofamericans ah, gotcha. Yeah, that could be a bit of a stretch, but Eevee comes contained with all the necessary components, which I feel better about
Mewtwo as a Tier 7 is brilliant, and all of these abilities fit so well, I love it!
The inclusion of a tier 7 pet was very unexpected, but absolutely brilliant!
It's very fitting! Probably needs a nerf though 😅
Even if not on a colab with Pokemon, some of this abilities are really well imagined, hope Somone on the team watches this to get some ideas😅
