      Amazing how everyone is talking about ear protection. But you watch those car audio channels and people get in those BASS mobiles with no hearing protection at all. It's crazy and on top of that they argue that bass frequencies don't damage your hearing. Keep telling yourself that. 😂😂

    Wow, and my neighbors think my custom built pair of 15in subwoofers in 5ft 6in tall x 18inches wide x 18inches long ported boxes with two closed back midrange drivers, closed back tweeters, and closed back super tweeters and a very custom crossover warranted a police visit.This is the dream one day. I love how beautiful and well thought out these personal home theaters are. I absolutely love that there are people who have an absolute love for audio making content about audio. Great video, thank you both!

    Really enjoyed the conversation about the passion for the hobby and the PEOPLE in the hobby! "That's what's up!"
    Back in 1999, I threw out an invite on AVS to a person that lived about an hour away. That quickly grew into a friendship. I opened up the invite to others and a local club was born. We met about 4 times a year, in different homes and grew to about 12-15 people at one point. This went on for 10-12 years. It was such a rich experience, including all the things you discussed. Scott, you've energized me to build something like this again. Thanks.

    I like Scott's way of thinking, because I too built my home theater system to the point it's at because I wanted it to have effortless performance for whatever I throw at it. For me it's where the DIY selection really shined because of the price and performance range, plus gradually obtaining things over a period of several years.
    It feels like a never ending journey, especially as you get new ideas inspired by others in the community or the general upgrade path for some/several components.

    Good for this guy. Too each to one's liking. I agree multiple subs is a must for a built dedicated HT. Utilizing the correct size is important as well as unit count. PEQ is important he had no mention of that in his build.

      Everything is calibrated by me by using multiple mini dsp’s for phase alignment/time alignment and custom eq curves… a lot of hours went into tuning this… i wouldn’t of went through all this trouble and running all that 240v for not the absolute best available playback that I could possibly get 👍

      @garykarczewski6678 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good job. I don't have a dedicated HT yet but will be building one in two years. It will be similar in configuration to yours. Speakers will be something I will have to do much more research. I am a DIY type person and feel I could build all my own speakers including subs. But that is today we will see in two years what I think!

      Great job! I just got into REW software and have been taking some measurement of my media system in my Great Room. I found the measurements overall not to bad. Currently I have two SB4000 front firing into a room that is over 40' long thus no standing waves because the room is longer than the bass wavelength. Bass frequencies really don't have any reflection points. This is the benefit of the open great room of my home. Now when I build my dedicated HT room in my basement I am certain I will need to use some correction per PEQ for my subs. Thinking 6 subs for my HT room downstairs.

    These systems with "bass everywhere" have never sounded good to me. I am a bass head, prob will never be a cure for that particular malady 😂, but having the sound come from coincident points in a room, a properly sized room, is where you get that tidal wave like impact. To each his own, as Scott says.

      @@Scott-Kat I'm sure that the both of you really enjoy the systems you've built there. I know I would be giddy 24-7 just knowing I had something like that in my home. For the time being, I have to be happy (and I am) with my very budget, hand-me-down, scratch and dent, on sale 5.1.2 in the living room and my 2.1 at my desk. Sometimes I forget just how lucky I am with all of the blessing I have had and have in my life. Someday, Good Lord willing, I my obtain an income that would support a lifestyle such as yours. Not that I'm promoting, but bass isn't nearly as harmful to your ears as high frequencies.
      Highs will cause your cilia to vibrate and break causing permanent damage while bass, given the length of the frequency, causes the cilia to lay flat causing temporary loss.
      FWIW I've had 150+db (my last setup would hold 158 at 34hz) car systems for offer fifteen years and have to get my hearing checked annually for work. It's never changed.

    this makes completely no sense due to hearing loss which can kick in.... long before the system kicks in. i am a basshead too and love deep fundamental bass. but i am also a fan of perfect sound quality and homogenous sound. so before i start playong with gear... i start treating the room accoustics. before that... i choose the right room. all of that makes no sense when the room is not ideal. and this room is by far not ideal. i am sorry to tell, but this is just a hardware overkill. anyway... the owner is happy and that is ok.. he has to deal with it. only one thing to think about... we all have the same hobby, don't kill your hearing ability. if you loose that, or if you stress your hearing too much... you will loose it long before you get old. then you hobby will be subtitles.

    Was more of a Home Theatre chat than a tour imo. Barely showed any images of the actual theatre. It was all him talking about it for 37 straight minutes... More shots of the actual theatres, and some demo's, and less 95% of the vids you just having a chat please Youthman!!!

    • @Youthman
      @Youthman  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      There are two reasons for limited Broll (showing the actual theater).
      1) We had limited time due to filming 3 videos in 2 days and one of those days having 50 guests over
      2) I've done a full tour of Scott's setup in the original tour and made a second video as well.
      Original Tour - th-cam.com/video/2sNqwZGHtzo/w-d-xo.html
      2nd Video - th-cam.com/video/eUcxkcq_578/w-d-xo.html
      When I started my channel 5 years ago, I created the Home Theater Tour. The video was basically, "We are at this person's home theater", then I would get behind the camera and they would give us a tour by themselves for 15 - 20 minutes and that was it. It was SOLELY about the gear.
      Over the years, I began to hear from my audience they wanted to hear the how, the why, what did they learn and the journey of the homeowner. So today's home theater tours look completely different than my original ones.
      I have done over 62 Home Theater Tours, from literally all around the world. There isn't a single content creator that has anywhere near that amount. Are you certain that 95% of those are just a chat? Really? If so, you might want to go back and look at them again.
