This was 13 years ago when I did this show. Jeff is still not in the picture. My son is 14 now and doing great. I didn’t turn out how everyone assumed. I finished school and I am now in college going for my masters degree in psychology. Shelby and Jeff separated not long after the show. They both struggled with substance abuse for a few years and sadly lost their daughter in a car accident at the age of 6.
Just thought I’d update anyone who wanted to know where we are now. Sadly the world is so negative and filled with hate. Yes we all 3 were basically kids, but we all 3 come from broken homes with no guidance. That being said, I still don’t regret the life experiences I’ve had. It taught me to be a stronger person and I wouldn’t be who I am today without it.
Just remember to be a little more compassionate towards others, cause you never know what they have been/are going through.

If this is true, congratulations! You've done great. I'm really sad to hear about her child. I can't imagine the pain of losing one of my own. That alone would have drove me insane, to suicide or drugs. I hope they're doing better now as well. You'd think after losing his daughter, he'd hold onto your son. I'm so sad for that. I don't believe Ashley SquarePant's story about not being with another man, she told the party story that no one else has ever heard until the show, and she also denied sleeping with a man she had been with for months. He had reason to doubt. Also (not excusing his behavior), but when you take the child and move out of state when he has little to no means to begin with, she effectively denied him the right to see his child. She just wants a check but doesn't care if he's physically there or not. Now that he knows the child is his, it's on him to travel out of state? She was sure it was his but still moved away? Right....
You realize a person even a teen can be with someone and not sleep with them for two months right? And maybe she didn't tell anyone about a possible rape or whatever because she didn't remember it until just that moment I mean memories can suddenly pop up out of nowhere
@shawnamillard5357 I didn't mention mine to anyone for days because I was blacked out when it happened and didn't know until the guy tried to claim I begged for him to "take advantage", then my kit took over 3 months to be analyzed so I didn't say anything until I knew for sure what happened.
Also, not everyone is comfortable talking about those experiences in the first place. I only am because I've learned that it helps me come to terms with it and sometimes opens me up to helping someone in a similar situation.

The man she did not mention after being asked so many times by Steve? She only mentioned the SA then, rather calmly, to ensure she would still been seen as a victim even after they came out to expose her. They could question the fact that she was with another man since they witnessed it, but the SA cannot be questioned since they had no prior knowledge of it. In reality, this show should have been titled "I was SA'd and I don't know who my child's father is" not "he's an abusive deadbeat", because she wasn't for sure who the father was but maintained it was him 100%. Which one is it? I believe if Jeff was allowed to speak first, the SA is never brought up, because then she's in defense mode about the other guy. So he's just supposed to believe he's the father? Unnecessary? Making sure a child is yours or isn't should be a top priority. He didn't want paternity established so he could try to walk away. There are some men who are very happy to let their child live in the world with the barest of minimal because he's okay with being a deadbeat or for a better man to step up (and then whine about said better man). It shouldn't have to take a court order for him to take a DNA test. Make a man's life easier? Oh is a woman suppose to carry him on her back to the courthouse or bring everyone to him so he can lounge on the couch?
Also FYI Steve does tell women to go to the courts in cases where she's the bad parent that is missing out or lost custody. Or so things are done legally and no one can cry foul later. He's an ex cop so why wouldn't he push for the legal route? He also tells people not to do anything foolish to the accused that can get them locked up in molestation cases. Is that also unnecessary?

If she found out she was pregnant 2 weeks after the date rape, it’s very unlikely that would be the father because 2 weeks isn’t enough time to really know your pregnant. Normally the earliest is about 4-5 weeks and people don’t usually notice til 6-8 weeks. I always miss my cycle right away so I know in about 4 weeks plus I get deathly I’ll right about then, but 2 weeks..no.
I would skip my period for 3 months because of medical issue.I thought that I missed my period like usual and I waited to start my period and then I took 2 home test and both showed negative and then I had a blood test done at the hospital and I found out that I was pregnant and I was 3 months along when I found out
@@jenniferbillings2527 right but the hcg hormones aren’t even strong enough at 1-2 weeks to read a pregnancy so no one really knows by then. I was trying w/all my kids and I still didn’t know til the hormones kick in. That’s why some people don’t skip their 1st period cause if ur period is due on the 1st 1-2 weeks the hormones won’t be strong yet and you can still have it. Some people get their period the entire time.
