Another excellent video. Sitting watching with a glass of wine 🍷. Watching the horses ploughing was pure magic. Thank you for all your hard work taking these videos 😅😅.
Excellent video 👌 my hobby is vintage ploughing so this video just can't get any better 💪 always annoys me that some competitors dont clean their plough at the end of a run if the soil is sticking as there's no hope of doing a tidy job 🙄😩 we 🏴 have 2 ploughing competitions coming up in the next 2 weeks 👍 we went for quite a few years without any horses turning up but they are gradually making a comeback which is great 👍
Another fascinating video , these ploughing matches are important , keeps the interest and i expect theres a wealth of information sloshing about . The horses look good . Memories like a prossesion As usual . Thanks 👍🏴
Another great video! Always love to see the steam ploughing, would be interesting to have a video showing some of the maintenance and upkeep you do on them over the winter 👍🏻
Great video. Sure like watching. Nice looking ploughing. And nice looking ground to plough. Nice horses. And the steam engines are unique. Until next week. 👋
The ground here in Illinois USA, you don't dare to work wet or in the rain. the yellow clay will just smear and ball up, then when it dries, you now have fine bricks! But I find it interesting how some guys hang all sort of tools and what ever on the plow! Heck I plow under enough tools as it is with out tempting it so much!
This limestone soil is very forgiving. We have clay soils too and I know what you mean about keeping off them in the wet! Thanks for watching the video.
I'm very much a machine man but I find the horse ploughing fascinating. It must take many hours and many scary moments to build up that relationship between man and horse. I'm glad it still exists! Great vid as always! I'm curious what will be planted in the field?
I like to see the horses too. I also liked to imagine the hundreds of them that would have been working in the fields around you. Spending a day in the field with your horse team must have been wonderful but very hard work.
Excellent video, a great variety of machinery to see. Unfortunately our local ploughing match, the FFF&B, was cancelled this year due to extremely wet ground.
Excellent, Brian, tell me is the Deeping ploughing match still going? I have seen your Dad there a few times, when it was my local show. Many tides have ebbed since alas.
Another great video. Lovely to see the horses ploughing. Brings back memories of a local farmer when I was a lad down in Dorset. My great grandfather used to plough with Oxen - I wonder if anyone ploughs with Oxen these days?
@@Casterton-Vintage Here's a quote from my great-grandfather's memoirs... "He started work on a farm near the village when ten years of age, at a wage of 3d. a day. One of his jobs was to drive teams of four oxen on a field, while the ploughman guided the plough."
😊😊 the dark cyldesdales horses 🐎 😊 should've been tan or brown 🤔 😊 and they should have alot more muscle than they have they also should be very heavy they are draft work horses a better color tan w a white face and white feet most that IVE seen have feet of the size 😊😊 of a 5 gallon bucket 🪣 😊 thats where they get there pulling power 🔋 😊 from good 👍 😊 shoes 👞 😊 2 are just like good tires they done ✔️ 😊 alot of plowing work many years ago be 4 steam engines and tractors 🚜 😊 I know that the clydesdales go back 2 the year 16OO and they are from Scotland the real draft work horses 🐎 😊 there was a time ⏲️ 😊 many years ago when people used horses 2 do the farm work U did need a steam engine or a tractor 🚜 😊 2 do the flat belt work 2 run the machinery 😊😊 OMG 11 2O 2O24

I’m starting to think Rutland is a tropical climate the amount of rain you get 😆. I do enjoy watching the steam ploughs working 👌
I think I have my own personal rain cloud 😊😊
Another excellent video, always a joy to watch!
Thanks again!

Glad you enjoyed it. We had a good day but it was hard work. Thanks for the comment.
A lovely piece of Sunday evening viewing. Much better than heartbeat or songs of praise if I say so myself
Many thanks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Another great video Brian. Heading back to watch your hand on steam ploughing club video!
Thanks again!

Another smashing vid, thanks Casterton... 😄

Enjoyed seeing the IH b275s at work brought back memories of my late grandfather he had a b250 as his only tractor did everything on his 35 acre farm
👍

I was planning to visit FFF&B to do a video. It's a pity it was cancelled. Glad you enjoyed this video.
Another great video thanks. Its hard to find 4 teams of horses ploughing nowadays. I will have to try to visit this next year
Hopefully the sun will shine for you.

Yes, Deeping is still going. They have a Facebook page if you want to catch up. Thanks.

I've never seen anyone plough with Oxen! That would make a good video. Thanks for watching.
@@Casterton-Vintage Yes, that would be a great video - one for you to research???

A fine video as always. A few years back I seem to remember a report of someone in the UK ploughing with oxen. Have you ever seen it?
There is a comment about Oxon ploughing on this video.
My husband won the vintage mounted and overall winner of the matches
Well done. It was not easy.
You know I adore the Standard Fordson, I have one of my own.
It should be a life term prison sentence for bullying a diesel engine into them thou. 😁
😂 Maybe you could get away with a heavy fine if you keep all the bits for a reversion.
@@Casterton-Vintage As long as it is a P3. Loved the horses, so obedient (most of them). Thank you for the nice video again and the approriate music.
