  • So this is quite a long (rambly) video of all the skincare products I've used up during lockdown and over the past couple of months. My skin is the driest it's ever been in my entire life - which is a novelty in itself!! Several of the products are from my epic travel toiletry bag (as it's not getting any use right now) and others are things that just feel good right now. Hope you enjoy!
Some of the items were PR samples and other purchased by me - to read my full policy click here www.lisaeldridg... I do not do (and have never done) paid sponsorships or product placement in my videos.

I really enjoyed this. My mother just passed away on Saturday and one of the saddest things was seeing her make up and toiletries in her bathroom. It just really dawned on me how much those things say about our personalities. Everything there she picked for a specific reason. It is actually very personal. It is where I snooped around as a kid trying to figure out how and why she used these things. Until very recently, even while battling Parkinson’s and all that comes with that, she was always trying to put on make up before I came over to take her out and she loved going to the store and looking at cremes and asking my advice on how to draw on her brows. She still asked me to get her creme with retinol. She still wanted retinol, even when she could hardly walk. Grooming is hard wired in us. It is not frivolous. It is part of living our lives. While it is not life and death, we miss things like going to the salon because these are life’s rituals and little connections to other people. I have been with my aesthetician for almost 15 years and she keeps checking on me to see how I am doing, yet her business is in disrepair from this lockdown. The woman who owns the local dress shop was the first to send me flowers when she heard about my mom. Her business is also suffering. Point being, these are real human connections and they really matter. We all love the connection we feel to you, Lisa. I know that sounds weird. It does to me, but this lifted my spirits. Truly.
On products: Discovered that l-ascorbic acid vitamin c is too strong for me so I am using the Oskia brightening serum and so far I love it. Still cannot live without my Tata Harper cleansers and serum. Very good for sensitive/reactive skin. Laroche Posay Lipikar is my staple body lotion. Always adore Weleda bath products too.

Oh Heather, I am so sorry for your loss, and I know how you feel. My mother passed two years this June, and she was such a makeup and skincare geek for as long as I can remember... When I first discovered TH-cam 4 years ago Lisa was the first TH-camr I subscribed too, and I purchase a Lancôme Lipshine 212 based a video... I remember taking this lipstick out of my handbag and putting it on mom’s lips while she was in the hospital.. I still have that same tube, and I don’t think I can finish it because I want it always with me as a reminder...

Was it just me or did I just die of laughter when Lisa came on with her LED masks and that Star Wars music? Hilarious, Lisa! Really loved that in the video! I also feel really lucky that you took the time and effort to actually write down all the info and share them with your fans. It is also really dry here in Paris. I have a themometer at home which tells me the humidity too and it has been below 30% for the past two weeks, my skin is definitely drier because of it. Please, if this isn't such a cheeky request, can we meet your other cat which hasn't been featured yet? We met Ted, Peachops (rip) and queen Betty, but I am dying to meet the other elusive British blue!! Loved this video, I am always like "YES, A LONG ONE FROM LISA!!!!!"

I started watching your videos in 2012 and that's how I discovered the Dermalogica overnight clearing gel (a game changer for me) Merumaya balm and Bourjois healthy mix foundation. I've been sad that you haven't been able to do as many videos over the last couple of years so it's great to see great content again 😃👍❤

Wow, when you showed the dermalogica clearing gel, I had this flashback of my 21yr old myself, watching your old skin care videos. Has it really been 10years?? Now 31 yrs old, I’m a skin therapist, I really got into beauty by watching your channel. You’re like this cool Aunty who taught me how to master the cat eye flick. Thank you for continuing to share your insight on beauty and skin. It adds a touch of class to my day. I can explain that the red light helps release serotonin in the body, and contributes to happiness. I have a similar led device at home as well that I use all the time called Lightstim. I have also done dermarolling whilst in lockdown. Hope you and your family keep well xx

I absolutely ADORE YOU! I have watched ALL of your videos (often more than once) for several years. Even my husband and son are aware of my adoration and gifted me your book for Christmas this past December!...... I just watched this video and there was ONE ESSENTIAL beauty tip you gave me - a HUGE BELLY LAUGH!!!!! I just absolutely lost it as you had the sheet mask on, talking away while it kept falling and you had to keep readjusting it. My husband even asked, "What is so damn hilarious?" so I told him. I keep my skincare routine very simple (thanks to you) but LAUGHTER is for me, the most essential beauty product - not only for your skin but for YOUR WELL BEING!!!!

I did a little pamper session for myself right along with you. However I used diy products because that was all I had! I made a oat and honey mask with natural yoghurt, and a orange body scrub with olive oil sugar and orange essential oil. I used olive oil to soften my cuticles and gently pushed them back a little. I’m amazed how nice they they all felt and also how well they worked! My skin feels really soft now.
Thankyou for such a lovely video. Please never apologise for the length of time, I don’t think you could make a too long or boring one! Watching you is a real treat! 🙂 lots of love xx

I always get good information from Lisa's videos. I'm 74 and after growing up in southern California and frying myself in the sun for almost 50 years I am not religious about skin care. I do it all including my beloved Nuface and I always try some products that Lisa recommends with success. I have beautiful skin and am a testament that you can reverse the damage ( as long as it isn't severe). Thank you, Lisa!

What a treat! As I am in an essential industry, I am still working. Self care (both physical and mental) is something I lack. I really need to allow myself time for things that refill my stores and give me time away from worry. Today’s video was that for me! I loved your soothing voice, the creamy dreamy products and the “permission “ you have given me...almost a mandate...to take some time for myself and my skin. Thank you so much and please keep these lovely videos coming!

I got a big smile when you mentioned Dermalogica’s Overnight Clearing Gel. That video, in which you also mentioned the Age Smart cleanser with Lactic Acid, was my introduction to skin care at 15, and the Overnight Clearing Gel was the first product I saved up and got after you explained how it works. I still remember waking up the first time amazed not thinking such results even existed (Hello Salicylic Acid) and to this day Dermalogica is one of my favorite brands. Thank you, Lisa, for the recommendation and that your videos became a familiar comfort

Such a great idea to have a devoted travel drawer (if one has the space). Love this idea! I, too, support the idea of a travel video and travel product favorites. I know you’ve done a sort of on-the-plane routine video but something to do with your travel drawer would be lovely! Like “travel from home” 😊 à la L.Eldridge! Do you happen to notice your skin is clearer when you exercise? What do you do to stay so healthy-looking (apart from skincare)?! Your skin is always so lovely. As always, you are incredibly beautiful and so comforting. Keep on with the from-home filming! Thanks so much!!

Lisa! This video is the best lockdown treat you could have ever given us! 40 solid minutes of pure joy! I also love that you always use such unique brands and that you always do your research for every single product. Please never feel bad whenever you do a long chatty video, honestly we love it so much, so don't feel rushed to end it. I've been treating my feet as well and they are definitely the softest they've ever been. I'm using the weleda original skinfood and some of the skinfood body butter they released recently and I found it really helped at softening the skin.
Perhaps another video idea: You can expand on the "make up moments" series you wrote on your blog, I really enjoyed reading them.
Sending lots of love! Melanie xx

Lisa's videos are just what I need during this 'stay at home time'. In the US, we are still staying home since the virus is hanging around so I am THRILLED every time a new video pops up. I have been Nufacing, cleansing and masking like everyone else but I have also found a new appreciation for brushing my hair!! Sounds silly but I now have the time to thoroughly brush my hair every night and I think my hair appreciates it! I have also finally trained my hair to wash less frequently. Love the videos, your soothing voice and lovely house! and Ted of course!

I have been sitting home, cleaning my makeup cabinet, and I realized how many things I already have, and it brought me joy to bring them out and try different looks from your tutorials. I used to be ashamed of my hoarding habits (because I live in Japan, I tend to buy a lot of Western products, that are not available here,in bulk). Now, I am grateful to have a good stock of everything, at a time when we are not likely to travel for a while and the mail from many places is restricted.

    Dear Lisa,
Like so many others, I just want to express gratitude for your videos. They always feel so special, and right now watching them feels like a visit to some soothing fresh mountain retreat. They're just so peaceful and safe. Thanks so much for being there.
I would love to see a tour of your bathroom as well, and/or the way you keep all of your beauty and wellness things organized.
And for products - Sovereign Silver First Aid Gel Topical Healing is my go-to for healing spots. My skin is often dry, reactive and acne prone, and I find this to be very gentle and effective - I see a difference just a few hours after applying. Its also really nice to keep in the medicine cabinet for general use.

    Agree with Christina Pal.
When you do techniques, it is nice to make it on point with less rambling, but with ones like this where you share experiences/stories/personal treasures, it is ok with chit chat. Especially nowadays. You're "the girl next door" that everyone wants to become friends with, so it is so comforting and uplifting to see your videos nowadays, especially since you're filming in a delicately decorated room
I would be happy if you could post another video on mixing and matching your true velvets. I have ribbon, muse, jazz and decade, but so far only been successful in putting muse on a tint of ribbon.

Thank you Lisa!!! You guys, seriously, if you have not delved into Korean/Japanese sunscreens, do it!! I have found so many that are just so cosmetically elegant I have not bought a primer in a few years. They formulate them to work amazing with makeup or to look amazing without makeup (I have one called Canmake Mermaid Skin UV Gel, SPF 50+ PA+++, in 01 Clear that leaves the SLIGHTEST iridescence on the skin so it looks beautiful even without makeup)

I have particularly enjoyed doing masks (Biologique Recherche ‘Vivant’, Andalou berry mask, homemade oatmeal mask with Aveeno Baby oatmeal bath and reconstituted mask) and taking time with massage and Nuface (no excuse these days to skip it). I’m short of hydrating masks at the moment but have used some moisturizers for the purpose that I tissue off. It’s more the ritual that is so helpful for me anyway these days but I’ll see visual benefits as well. Stay safe and have fun clearing out your products while treating yourself. I so appreciate your videos, Lisa.

Since you mention the heating, for what it's worth, just thought I'd mention attaching a humidifying system to the furnace. In Canada, where I live half the year, we have forced air in an old house, and every fall/ winter my skin dries out and cracks and itches and bleeds horribly. Lips, cuticles, shins... it's awful! Usually I am in Mexico for the winter, but last winter we stayed in Canada and FINALLY had installed a humidifying system to the furnace. It was an investment I wish we had made decades sooner. You need a gas fitter or proper plumber etc to do the installation, but what you get is heat followed by moisture being forced out of the ducts through the registers. My skin felt like I was in the tropics all winter and it was so happy and supple. Just wanted to share that. It's like a miracle, truly. Controlled humidify! yes please. xo

This was so relaxing! If I wear makeup, it has been very light. I've been using an enzyme mask. My skin likes the one by Elemis or Rejuvi. I've also actually remembered to use my Nuface on a regular basis. It is so dry and still getting cold in Colorado that I've been using Paula's Choice Rehydrating mask as my night moisturizer. I'm so ready for warm weather.

It's a total mindful calming experience. I think it's so important in these stressful times. Plus, thanks to stress I wasn't sleeping very good - I'm still not sleeping great but I'm dropping off to sleep quicker. Trying a new hair colour when it arrives in the post too. You couldn’t be boring if you tried to be, Lisa! Loved this video. I find when my skin is dry, rough and itchy I find it helpful to use Ameliorate body lotion (there is a fragranced and an unfragranced version) before bed, and when I wake up in the morning my skin is moisturized and smooth. It has lactic acid so it leaves the skin ready to drink up any other lotions you use on it. The body wash is lovely too, as well as the foot cream and I’ve just discovered the lip treatment so I am now officially addicted!

I've just been so interested in skin care and taking care of my skin more than makeup recently!! I will say, I absolutely LOVE Korean skin care and makeup. My whole skincare routine from my cleanser down to my moisturizer is made up completely of Korean products. I find they are just so innovative and there are so many affordable brands with products that are amazing. Also I have the biggest weakness for sheet masks. I absolutely love them. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, Lisa! Ever since a friend linked me to your cleansing balm/massage video (well over?!) five years ago, it's changed the way I approach skincare. I've fallen in love with your channel ever since. I love the ritual aspect of facial massage now that it's a regular part of my routine, and I've never been more grateful to have developed the habit and patience for it than now during this global pandemic!
Over the years I've tried many cleansing balms, and up until the pandemic my favorite had been No. 7's cleansing balm. It was a huge surprise considering it's so affordable, and despite the fragrance, my skin really enjoyed it. However, I had a big shop on Beautylish and decided to try their Good Molecules line. The balm is in a similar price range as No. 7, emulsifies beautifully when you add water, and my skin's even happier. I think it might be a new staple!
I've seen a huge improvement in moisture balance since folding in Shiro's Kombu Lotion to my skincare routine. Trying to find somewhere that sells this in America and I'm having no such luck.
Dr. Jart's Ceramidin Body Lotion and Body Wash have been a life saver! My skin was getting really dry and bumpy, and these work well without feeling greasy. I repurchased these products again during lockdown after emptying my first buys. I've only seen these for sale via Korean retailers online.
I've actually been using a stash of face moisturizers that didn't work out for my face as hand creams. My favorite has been Korean brand Nacific's "Fresh Herb" Origin Cream, and then nightly I use a roll-on of Dr. Jackson's Everyday Oil on my cuticles. My hands love it.

This was nice. Thanks. I moved to the UK in Nov 2019 and by Jan I had huge dry patches all over my face. Nothing seemed to help until I found Weleda skin food and the heavy duty one helped. I will keep using it on my face for awhile yet or at least until I get used to the water here

So nice to hear your lovely voice. Watched your video as I did my morning routine and appreciated the company. I too have struggled with unusual skin issues. I live in Minnesota so dry, central heat is the norm this time of year. But I feel the stress has brought out more spots and my usual products aren’t quite as calming. But the upside. I started using CND Cuticle Eraser and Blossom cuticle oil fairly obsessively during work hours. Cuticles have never looked better. While non of this feels essential, or important really, I do think the world is focusing on nurturing as a balm to anxiety. Stay safe.

The Dermalogica brand is a little pricey. However, I found that Target in the States is carrying a brand called Versed. I’ve only tried their overnight lactic/glycolic acid peel, and I REALLY like it as a more affordable alternative to the Dermalogica one.
