I just want to thank you. I was able to put my compressor back together by watching your video. I could not figure out the wiring but was able to by the pictures. Thank you!

I have a 2 hp craftsman air compressor was not starting , changed the starting capacitor and cleaned the contacts on the pressure switch. Started every time now periodically it won't start just sits and buzzes till it pops breaker only if I'm not there to shut it off. I manually turn the pump a small amount and away it goes. Could you please give me some insight of what this could be. My feeling is bad pressure switch sometimes I don't hear the pressure releasing when it reaches full pressure. Could this be putting a strain on it to restart. Any help would be greatly appreciated. PS garage is not heated could the cold temperatures be causing this .Thanks so much Dale

Hi Dale, sorry about the extremely LATE response. I’v had a lot going on. I’d imagine you might have gotten rid of it by now.
I have had a similar experience with another motor that’s not the compressor, it turned out to be the bearing was going out and would cause it to get stuck.

It's a 2 terminal capacitor which had 4 connectors per terminal. Give me your email and I will send you all of the pictures.

I have 2 different ones on mine a start and a run.....mine would turn on but seemed like not enough power and it would pop breaker , replacement is 185.00 but found one on wish .com for 30.00 . hopefully it's the correct one..... did yours seem like it just didn't have enough power like mine?..... and yes the cap. I pulled has 4 terminal connections but it's only 2 poles ac it doesn't matter as long as in opposite poles.... 😀 thank you for making a short video of what may seem like common sense as it's not common at all.... great info and thanks in advance.....oh I'm not Rachel this is chuck

oops I see how I typed that and it COULD sound like I was correcting you and I was not at all on the terminals ..... I'm currently looking for a bigger keyboard for my fat thumbs😂

my compressor is 110 220 and people were suggesting I switch it to 220 to fix it and it's the cap....

I had the same problem and it seems like it is the run capacitor mounted on the top of the motor. I can't read the micro farads on the capacitor, can you tell me what they are so I can buy the correct cap?

      the original capacitor is 24BD450B370PA (45uf +/- 10%, 370 VAC 50/60HZ). The replacement one is TRC45 (45uf +/- 5%, 370 VAC 50/60HZ).
