Thematically you could use the blood and black fire weapon buffs for a little extra elemental damage while running heavy AoWs. Heavy blood tax and heavy storm caller for debuff stacking.

So for every build, I would like some form of AoE. I just love Bloodboon from Mohg Remembrance as it rewards you for using it properly and is close-range, which is fitting. I would even use it in place of flies on big targets like magma wyrms or dragons.
I also would like a sniping tool/range tool and I feel flies don't quite fit the bill (for teleporting scarabs or nuisance mobs you can't get to). There isn't really a blood-themed nuke in the game (similar to Loretta for magic). Putting Blood Blade on a dagger could work but the range is very limited. I would probably just grab some blood bolts and use a crossbow when needed if I wanted to be really thematic (why would a blood prince skilled in melee be proficient with a bow? :D)
Otherwise, I love the theme. And can be built into from the start of the game with a claymore and bloody slash while rushing swarm and dragon seal early on.

I’ve been playing something similar but using a great mace, blood affinity w/brags Roar. I like the great hammer moveset better myself.
I've been loving using my claymore with fire incantations and ashes of war, I never once even thought about using bleed and strength and holy cow does this hit hard

Actually, you are able to obtain the Carian Filigreed Crest much earlier than what you said. If you go to the mistwood ruins, you'll hear the howling of a wolf, then you go to Kalé at the Church of Elleh and you'll have a new dialogue option called "About the howling in Mistwood" to which he'll give you the finger snap emote that you can then use at the mistwood ruins to have Blaidd come down, after you exhaust his dialogue, you go to the Forlorn Hound's Evergaol which is south of the "Agheel Lake South" site of grace. There you'll be fighting a Bloodhound knight with Blaidd to assist you. After defeating the Bloodhound knight, talk to Blaidd who'll be right there at the Evergaol. He'll give you a somber smithing stone and advice you to go see Iji. When you get to Iji and exhaust his dialogue options, you'll get the "Blaidd sent me" dialogue option, which will add the Carian Filigreed Crest to the list of items you can purchase from Iji after you exhaust that dialogue.

Yea I'd say put it into heavy or occult as the massive arcane would also boost attack power. Being that it's a great sword it probably gets better stats from heavy
You get a higher AR that way but you won't proc bleed as fast. Occult is better on weapons with native bleed

Occult flamberge with minimal str might be the better version of this, you could then swap seppuku for a multi strike aow like sword dance or double slash and the higher dex will let you cast flies without being punished as much.

@@Jamesscott-lr1hw The Flamberge has innate bleed on it, so giving it the Occult boosts it's bleed and damage, and it also scales better with Dex than Str. Dex boosts Incantation/Sorcerery cast speed, so the swarm will cast faster with a Dex weapon. However, even with all stats at 60, the Iron Greatsword deals a lot more damage. 748 vs 692 Occult, and 797 vs 711 with Blood. So, stick with the build listed in the video.
Also you could do something like a Dex/Int build with Flamberge/Blood Tax and the Rapier/Glintblade Phalanx. Swap it off of Rogier’s and take advantage of the 130 crit rating. Most stuff staggers from Glintblade to run in with Bloodtax. Both Flamberge and Rapier have B scaling for Keen and Magic. Swap back and forth as needed.
I like putting Endure on a dagger. I proc endure and then use a spell. Rarely get knocked out of the animation. Works great for AOWs that are easily interrupted. Black flame greatsword AOW comes to mind
I love your Executioners Axe build better but I'll do this next.
The White Mask isn't from random encounters in that area, they are invasions you can trigger. Kill both of the triggered encounters in the area where the 11k rune Chicken lives, the 2nd one drops the white mask and armor set.
Or from the site of grace jump on the rock and fall down on the plateau with the birds, then run to the left and you'll be invaded by the 3rd one which drops the set.

I've run a Dex variant of this build with the Flamberge since it's my favorite greatsword due to it's inherent bleed.

Currently testing it with buckler and its respective parry until I get swarm of flies. I don't have the faith needed for the buffs but a larval tear will fix that.

Banished Knight Greatsword mate. Will give about 40 less AR but still totally viable and I suppose more accessible :)

For a Str/Arcane bleed build, I could also recommend Lion's Claw or Barbaric Roar on the Greatsword or Duelist Axe with the Blood Affinity. Can also use Beastman's Curved Swords for dual jump attacks. Star Fist with Cragblade and Bleed Affinity, or Bloodhound's Claws with Bleed/Occult.
Edit: 1 of the best builds I've found for melting bosses is using the Venomous Fang claws with Cragblade and Blood Affinity with Dex/Arcane build. Millicents, Rotten Wing, Lord of Blood, and Kindred of Rot. Procs deadly poison for 30s, blood and high, fast damage. Wear the Whtie Mask or Mushroom Crown, can also wear Raptors for jumping attacks but not necessary. Can also run Poison Affinity for 90 seconds deadly poison. Liked it better than my last several builds I've tested out. Im lv 350 with my Str, Dex, Int, Faith and Arcane at lvl 60 for testing purposes, since can use almost every spell and every weapon without respecs. Other stats are 50 Vigor, 45 Mind, 35 Endurance. Need to level Int to 70 for all spell usage and probably more Endurance for easier time testing heavier weapons.
Or the marais executioner sword.

Level 350? Geez, no wonder it slaps. What build wouldn’t at that level. The build is way more efficient using Royal Knights resolve on Venomous Fang, poison affinity, 70 arcane, Spear Talisman, Claw Talisman, Kindred of Rots Exultation, last talisman can be whatever I like Bull got for added poise, Raptor Feathers armor. You’ll hit for 2k-3k on each jump attack after activating Royal Knights Resolve. Use coil shield as well. You can make this build incredible at lvl 150. Level 350 is so over the top hard to even call it a build.
@@skipjacks85 Yes, lvl 350 is over the top so it's not a proper build. I have my offensive stats at lvl 60 accross the board. This allows me to do weapon testing without needing to respec. Mentioned that in my last comment. With my stats at only 60, it's not that OP and even less so than you'll find on a pure 80 stat build. The only difference it really makes is on quality weapons/affinities.
@@mattshu Yeah, it can do some serious damage very quickly. Go with a hybrid split on Dex/Arcane with blood. Whatever health you're comfortable with, and whatever endurance you want for light rolls or 51 poise med rolls. I preferred the light rolls, but takes higher endurance. If you want buffs then 15-25 faith but not needed. I'd say dump any remaining points you can probably into Str, since Blood/Poison Affinity is more of a quality between Str, Dex and Arcane.
For lv 150 spread I'd probably go with 50 Vigor, Base Mind, 15 Endurance, 34 Strength, 50 Dex, 15 Faith, 45 Arcane. Bull Goats legs, confessor gloves, black raptors and white mask. If you want Light Rolls, you need 27 Endurance using Page Trousers/Perfumer Gloves, but to take that away from Strength, you lose 30 AR.

with 60 arcane you might actully want accult rather than heavy affinity
Just use Blood Tax and a greatshield along with Rotten Winged/Winged Sword Insignia/Millicent's Prosthesis and Godskin Swaddling Cloth while keeping ARC at 45 which is the softcap for status buildup. Focus more on STR, preferably 60-70 so you still do high 1-handed raw damage on top of the bleed procs. With the same stats you can also use Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear. Or even the Marais Executioner Sword for enemies immune to bleed by swapping out the bleed-related talismans for something like the Godfrey Icon.

wtf i just made this build the other day with the same armor and weapons/spells and fairly similar stats, get out of my brain. I dual wield iron greatswords though.
Im sorry but nobody is going to farm that sword. The misbegotten that drops it is insanely strong and surrounded by so many others its like 5 minutes per run even with the elevator, you have to stack up on fowl foots for every attempt
probably not so bad for this build considering you’re investing stats into arcane which increases item discovery
A better misbegotten is the one right next to the site of grace in the haligtree area, equip the silver scarab and eat a silver pickled fowl foot, shouldn't take too long

I did it at level 40 with a great axe. Just staggered him with heavy attacks. Took me 5 kills.
Very cool build, though it's more of an NG+ build. You pretty much have to finish the game to obtain everything that makes the build work.
I'll definitely keep this in mind for my NG +1.
