This video really shows that this kind of music is the best for describing deep, hunting feelings like loss and emptiness/longing. I think I fell in love with post-hardcore and metalcore songs because the screamo vocals seems to hit a nerve right around the heart and in the chest (like when you're scared) at the same time, while being accompanied by heavy and rythmical guitars that floats through the air and gets the songs moving. Just love this kind of music.

    "Gone With The Wind"
The weight of the world is resting on thin ice
When the surface breaks will I find paradise?
As I freeze to death, left to reflect
What a waste of time I was, in retrospect
I'd take a leap of faith, but I'd lose my nerve
In the end, I'll get the hell that I deserve
I'm always gone with the wind
Crawling in and out of my mind
God knows, I lost all my faith
A sickness with no remedy, except the ones inside of me
You ever wonder how deep you could sink into nothing at all?
    Disintegrate. Annihilate me
Do you remember when you said to me
“My friend, hope is a prison.”
    Hope is a prison
Of all the patterns that I could create
I built a labyrinth with no escape
To keep my ‘self' under lock and key
I am my own worst enemy
I'd take a leap of faith, but I'd lose my nerve
In the end, I'll get the hell that I deserve
I'm always gone with the wind
Crawling in and out of my mind
God knows, I lost all my faith
A sickness with no remedy, except the ones inside of me
You ever wonder how deep you could sink into nothing at all?
    Disintegrate. Annihilate me
A sickness with no remedy, except the ones inside of me
You ever wonder how deep you could sink into nothing at all?
    Disintegrate. Annihilate me
If I could silence all the doubt in me
Accept that what is meant to be (Is meant to be)
You ever wonder how deep you could sink into nothing at all?
    Disintegrate. Annihilate me
I remember when you said to me
“My friend, hope is a prison”

I'm listening to this song in 2021, after I fell in love with this band just after Tom died. I was going through serious shit at the time and tried to take my own life shortly before I found this band. Listening to this track post that experience enforces my will to live and to empathise with anyone who feels that the words of this song means something to them personally. Fight through it, find your will to live - even if its vicariously through people you've never met. Life is a gift, one that can be taken away at any time. That last "disintegrate, annihilate" is so incredibly powerful. I love how it transitions from a tonal scream into just a raw, angry, sad scream. This song is just so sad. So many metalcore songs dealing with this sort of thing have some last little "silver lining" verse or riff at the end. This song just... Doesn't. It ends on an utterly hopeless note.
I know this was written about cancer, but most days I relate to this song. My mind and heart are broken and dark. I've tried every medication under the sun, and countless therapy sessions. Truly a sickness with no remedy, and I can't fight it anymore. I wish to cease to exist.

I lost my little cousin to cancer, this song seriously puts into perspective the feelings she must of felt on her darkest days. When she knew nothing could be done she still was a golden angel and always fought on to stay with us a little longer ❤ she loved One Direction but for me this is her song.

Such a powerful performance! Being a person who has also experienced great loss this song always hits home for me. I actually shed a few tears watching this and I'm not ashamed to admit it. You can hear Sam is really struggling singing this song not due to any vocal issues but to him just holding back so much emotion yet he still gives it his absolute all. This may be one of the best performances I've ever watched.

I just recently got into Architects, my favourite band is NIN, so I love music of a high calibre, learning about what pain the band went through after losing a member has endeared me to them on a human level, I can’t wait to see them live , i’m sure it will be a cathartic gig, since I have lost close friends as well.

It was a small venue and it made all there songs that much more impactful and meaningful and there pressence was truly larger than life. I lost all control that night and felt every emotion i had bottled up come out. Architects is truly is one of my top favorite bands to listen to and see live. I love you guys and thank you for such motivational inspirational meaningful songs that touch my soul.
