- This review is the final meal for my 2018 Case A & B Series. It is one of the spicier menus but for me it could be kicked up some more with Jalapeno Cheese and the Red Crushed Pepper. Mixing the dessert items into something authentic is a real treat too.

I really hope KiwiDude comes back. He was actually the first MRE reviewer I ever saw on TH-cam and it was really sad to see him stop posting videos several years ago now...

Gundog is back!!! Glad you found that menu 24. The smallest FRH that has mediocre heating compared to any other one I have tried. That FRH you had was awesome the Ziplock and vent really help. I just tried the chipotle bread(From 2010 spag menu) it was just as good as the tortillas. This menu is one of my favorite cause it seems so complete with good main tortillas and a solid dessert that you made. Fantastic Review Gundog!
On FTXs I lived on this MRE it was my absolute favorite

This is my first time getting some MREs so I don't know what to look forward to but I received my first box today that I ordered I got them as emergency food

Hi Gundog! That is a great menu One of my favorite. I don't prefer the chipotle tortillas. Call me strange, but I would take the wheat snack bread. That is a great way to make a fabulous dessert. Great review, my friend 🤝

Hi GD. I feel your FRH frustrations, I never understood why they never up upgraded them. This is a great menu, cool idea with the dessert.
That's my all-time favorite entree, gundog. "Fruit on cake" has been a ration treat for at least half a century, since peaches on pound cake of WWII, at least. Ditto the kudos for KiwiDude. We ALL miss him - and The Boss.
Glad to see a new video. Made me want to cook up a pot of chili.
This is easily one of my favorite menus.

If the Army had FRH's that got hot, people would be injured by burns. Remember, Americans have to have warnings on coffee cups that says caution hot coffee is hot!
My thoughts exactly! Also I guess they could be used as a weapon due to the hot temperatures generated by the heating element. You have to remember they throw acid on people over there in the middle East ( just stating a fact), so what will prevent them from throwing boiling water? The results from both are similar- scarring and the complications from burns, it's probably easier to get a FRH that a thing of acid

We need a frh that has 2 or 3 heaters incase you want to eat some now and some later and coffee when you want it that's actually piping hot.

GUNDOG!! Long time no see. Sitting here eating a meatball sub from my local pizza joint. Going to enjoy this video. I’m with you on the FRH, they are freaking horrible. Some of the ones I’ve seen from like Japan, holy crap do those things take off.

That's a good menu right there. I love them tortillas.
Mine came with a Jack Links beef jerky and a lemon pound cake. Overall very good. 👍
My frh that came with the mre worked great. I was even able to put my cheese inside my bag. Then shimmy my tortilla on one side of the sleeve. And even my cappuccino on the other side. Everything came out burning hot and great.
I guess when you’re just whining you just miss out on the basic pleasures.

Best MRE for me. Most people seem to prefer Chili Mac.

I have one of these and was wondering what was in it
Big dog Gundog I found out a secret to the peelable seal. Grab from below the seal and pull. Not above it. There is not enough leverage to try and open it from the top. I have have had trouble with it as well till the other day and was like what if I pull from the bottom. Opens EVERYTIME.

The reason they make the frh so small and cheap is because most times in the field there not used because they can give away your position
Best FRHs I've had in my own experience are the ones that are packed with XMRE's products. Those puppies are freaking hot!
Bascially this is a bigger version than that. May be produced by the same manufacturer since they are both in Florida

pour the salt from the accessory packet into the frh before adding water. It helps it heat up especially if its older and little weak. Also fold the bag up so it doesn't leak and tilt it back and forth to get the whole element wet, also helps to keep it tight to build up pressure so the bag isn't sticking to the frh so that water gets to it all.
Since spoilage was mentioned, picked one up the other year at my local surplus store, popped it open to rat fuck for the truck bag, and yeah, absolute carnage, looked like the main had gone full on rogue and was playing for the talitubies and decided to explode. God was that an awful smell. Ended up trashing the entire thing.

I'd have to pass on that one - I had a stomach ulcer some years ago, and to say spicy food disagrees with me, would be a huge understatement!

You really should have named your channel the MRE gourmet or maybe Fine Field Artillery Dinning.
Most of these tricks were learned from the remaining Vietnam vets when I was in. They in turn learned from the Korea guys who learned from the WW2 guys. The goal is to make somewhat substandard food you get over and over again palatable. I just hope what little I know about making rations taste decent rubs off on the guys and gals forced to eat them now haha
