Lando got beat at the start. Max is a difference maker and he's proving it once again.
Not unless Max has a lot of bad luck.

Lando is too emotional. He needs to learn how to think about strategies and long term gains in order to beat Max.
Short answer: NO. Long answer, he can compete, but it's not likely he'll be able to win this year unless Max or the car cocks up royally
People are getting carried away. RB was a rocketship up til 3 races ago...which allowed Max to build up a nice points lead. McLaren have closed much of the gap to RB in the last few races but there is no way the McLaren pitwall and their strategists will beat RB's...and that is where the real battle for a WDC will be. RB are too well oiled...fastest pitstops, slickest strategies etc.

I think possibly next year. We are almost half way through the season and he only has one win to his name. He would need a miracle and seven or eight wins after the summer break. It’s very unlikely.
Even if he won a dozen and Max was runner-up Max would still win. Without 1 or 2 DNFs it is a bridge too far. But this is motor racing. Look what happened to Vettel. Was it 2018? Singapore. Leading all year, on pole then he drives into his teammate. By the years end he was nowhere.
Charles and Carlos actions and factions are all driven by frustrations. Carlos is very frustrated that after this year he will in a bad car. Charles is frustrated that Ferrari have again flattered to deceive. Two weeks ago he was talked about as a potential champion, now he might be in the fourth best car.
The ‘Carlos has to prove himself to other teams” argument is just nonsense. By now he is only in the market for a seat at teams that would love to get him. The only thing he can still do is ruin his reputation as a good team player, thereby making his chances of getting back to a top team as a second driver down the line.
Also. Not sure a Merc getting better yet. Last year they both cars on the podium and this year only 1 for the Spanish GP
Gasly just signed a new contract at Alpine. For the second car it would be great when Jack Doohan gets a chance.

Early in the season everyone (especially Christian) were surprised to find out that Helmut and Max had added an appendium to his contract that allowed him to leave Red Bull if Marko left. This caused much speculation whether he would go to the vacant Mercedes seat given Merc were much more likely to have the best engine in 2026. The general consensus was with Merc struggling and Lewis slagging off about his car, Max would stay at RedBull for 2025. Now half a dozen GPs later, with George getting pole Canada and podiums for Merc in Canada and Spain, RedBull is no longer the dominate car it once was. Max is probably realising he could win 2025 in a Merc.
Will we see another surprise in 2025 drivers market? Maybe that is why Christian is keen to hang on to Daniel.
Can he compete yes but winning.... That's a step too far. It takes a lot more than just a quick car to win.
Also let's not forget Max is winning races and it's not like Norris who is yet unproven car win all races and Max finishes so far down. Redbull is still a very quick car. In Spain he was 18seconds ahead of Mercedes in third. It takes a lot more than quick car. McLaren hasn't been in that seat for a while how would they manage the pressure?
As for the rules stability, it's actually the media pundits who were cheer leading a change by f1 now you can't turn around and say oh why don't they leave the regs as they are.

Not sure why u guys didn’t consider the engine allocation for Max V. I believe he is already on his last engine before a 10 place grid penalty. If Lando can get the win and a few more top 3s. It may be possible to catch Max late in the season. It’s a stretch but possible

Lando is great, in almost everything. i love that guy as a racer and as a person. Although i'm dutch and a Max fan, i hope he can do it soon, he deserves it.
The question is, 1) is he consistent enough, 2) can he handle the pressure. until now, he is really the nice guy, I look at him as Daniel 2.0.
Max has three strengths, Speed, his consistency and pressure doesn't do anything to him, with this you must have a great car and fast driver, but also made steel to beat him.
