This is a fine order! I'll admit I am a bit privy to the Bruce Lee box set personally but I'm fine with the order you presented today! I do have #1 but alas my backlog of Criterions I picked up from the sale has delayed me a bit! I will get to it eventually I assure you! The World Cinema Project stuff is fantastic!
I ordered the Varda set on the last day of the B&N sale as a Christmas gift to myself last month. It's fantastic in terms of presentation and content. I bought the Shout Select Blurays of The Big Boss, Fist of Fury and Way of the Dragon back in 2019, so not in a rush to get the Criterion set yet, unless they do a 4K UHD kind of upgrade. Will get the World Cinema, Fellini, Rohmer sets down the line. Though to be honest with the easy access to the films on the Criterion Channel, I haven't had any urgency to buy them yet. The Criterion Channel= saving on your wallet.
Thank you so much and yes, I totally understand what you say in your comment regarding the Criterion Channel and for waiting for those other films that may possibly get releases in the future. And I hope you are enjoying the Varda set! By the way, are there any Varda films in particular that you are enjoying?
@@DaisukeBeppu Just watched the Black Panther doc the other day. What a fascinating historical time capsule that still feels relevant today in regards to racial issues in this country. I think Vagabond is a masterpiece and one of the best films of the eighties. So many good ones in this set.
This certainly was a wonderful year for Criterion boxsets. I think that this list must have been (as are the others) very difficult to put together. The World Cinema box as the previous two, are invaluable in terms of sharing works that might otherwise be neglected and I think it a worthy #1. Cheers from Canada Daisuke!

For the first time ever, I have all five box sets you feature here in my collection, and really, any one of these could’ve been number one on your list and there would have been no argument. I have to ask, what is the Fellini KINGS OF ADS in the background of these year end videos? Is that a DVD/Blu-ray? I have been looking online for that title since I got the Fellini set but I can’t find KINGS OF ADS anywhere in any format. Thank you for any info.

As you know these are a collection of various commercials directed by certain filmmakers, one of which is Fellini. These are Japanese and so I got them from a Japanese seller. I am not sure if they can be found outside of Japan. You might want to try, say Amazon Japan but I cannot guarantee the quality or condition of the items, and also I cannot say if the shipping would be expensive or not.
The Bruce Lee box set is my favourite Criterion set of the year because not only did it entertain me, it also taught me SO MUCH.

I was thinking varda would be one but still it’s great the Scorsese one seems like a enjoyable one
