He was not a highly recruited Illinois high school athlete, as his only scholarship offer came from Davenport University, a Division II school. In 2016, his only season as a starter, he threw for a school-record 2,741 yards and 26 touchdowns

Minshew's a good backup but he's a turnover machine just his fumbles alone are bad but he throws picks too. You better hope AOC is "the guy" because if he isn't we have a lot of mediocrity in our future. This is the best Raider roster since the early 2000s and the team is built to win now all we need is a QB who can run the offense without turning the ball over and make the correct reads and get the ball out on time. AOC has a good arm and throws with accuracy but we don't know if he has it upstairs yet, they didn't ask him to do much last year besides not lose games. If they can ask him to just win some games this year we might have something. To ask Minshew to start is silly he's just a placeholder to keep us competitive if AOC doesn't pan out, why would you pull for that?
I love this guy. Aidan O'Connell has the skill set to succeed in the NFL.

That's not true, but he's doing good so far. What I like about him is how he doesn't try to win the game on every play. He throws it away when he needs to and goes to the next play. Avoiding most of the turnovers many rookies make.

At this point, all he needs to do is hit the gym hard and work on some mobility and awareness. Cause he has the arm talent.
He did exactly that all off season, he spent the entire time at the teams facility and remade his body to NFL standards.

O’Connell will be brought back down to earth when he gets a chance to play in a real game. He is not a scrambling QB and when he faces the mad and relentless NFL pass rush he will get a rude awakening. He will surfer like most of the first and second year QBs. The Media has been ordained as the next great QB. We will all Waite and see. Don’t get over excited just yet.
Only time and him playing will tell let’s see if he can do good during the season.
