      I know a guy here who started on an R1, every biker here told him not to do it, but he insisted the R1 would make him look cooler instead of a CBR500. Two weeks later, he got killed trying to hit top speed and rear ending a car (at 250 km/h, the car was going 60 km/h). When a beginner has that much power they don't know how to control the bike when they go that fast.

      +Alex Overton Can you please tell me more about British bike laws and in how much time can I ride a 300, cause hopefully I'm moving to England and I don't know when I can ride and what kind of bike I can ride there. :D

    • @paigeoverton499
      @paigeoverton499 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Filip Velkov Well, youll have to get a CBT (One day of training) costs around £110 that will allow you to ride a 125cc bike up to 2 years (You need this) then after that either immiediely take your A2 licence (This is called DAS-Direct Access course) that should be enough for a 300cc bike (But google the specs to be safe, it has to produce less than 47.5 bhp, there is a site set up that lists all A2 bikes out there) So, to ride a 300cc bike you can do it in less than a week, but to get a "Big bike" like a 600cc or a 1000cc you need open licence, which sucks ass to get

    • @filipvelkov6829
      @filipvelkov6829 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alex Overton Where does it say that I rode a 125 for 2 years, or can I take the CBT and then get an A2 license. Do I literally have to ride a 125 for 2 years. Btw thank you for explaining that to me!

    • @paigeoverton499
      @paigeoverton499 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you can get a 125cc "Licence" and then immiedietly do the next licence up, it takes a couple of days training though and in a lot of peoples opinion it isnt enough, but it is the fastest way to ride a 300cc bike

    In Norway at least you're stuck with a 125cc bike from 16 to 18, from then you can take a course and upgrade to a 400cc bike. After riding that for another 2 years you take a 7 hour course and then you can ride whatever you want.
    When you're 18 you can go straight to the 400cc licence, to go straight to unlimited you have to be 24.

    • @Mcbignuts
      @Mcbignuts 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will never understand why ppl allow their govts to come up with bs like this..
      Under 18yrs old, then ok to be limited to a 125cc, but after 18 yrs u shud be able to own n ride whatever bike u want, with the only limits to what u ride being ur wallet and ur common sense
      Let darwinism play its course
      I started out on a 650cc, best decision ever, some idiot I know got a 1000cc kawasaki and ended up breaking half the bones in his body
      U can't fix stupid n limiting everyone else for that purpose is ridiculous, a bad rider is bad regardless of age

    Here in Finland we can get a 50cc bike and drive 45 km/h when we are 15. Then when we are 16 we can get a 125cc bike, and with it you can drive as fast as you want (but you should not drive over 120 km/h because then the cops are comming). And when you're 18 you can get any bike with any cc.

    125cc starter bike is pure bliss (and yeah, I was forced to do so too). You learn how to ride on tamed motorized bicycle with easy handling. There is only a little space to learn some bad habits that you can gain when you start on a bigger machine and transfer to something stronger is quite easy.
    Two weeks into riding more powerful motorbike after this and you practically got it in your hands the same way as the small one. Far less "dead-by-rolling-throttle" people :)
    (btw my country is 125cc since 16 yrs, up to 35kW since 18 yrs and unlimited since 21 yrs old)

    In Australia the learner riders are restricted but not by the cc of the bike, it's a power to weight ratio. You can go as high as 650cc so long as it's power to weight isn't excessive, for example I rode a Yamaha V-Star 650 for my learners and probationary.

  • @ReckedMedia

    Great vid Yammy, I find that Australias laws are good. They taught me to ride slow bike fast and not to be lazy like most are with a more powerful bike. Last weekend was a perfect example, I just finished building my 91 cbr250rr race bike. I took it to the track last weekend and ended up being held up by people on 600cc bikes.

    2 years on a 125 ? More like two years on a 300 or a throttled down 600. At least here in Germany, with 18 your max. kw is 70 (throttled down to 48hp) and after 2 years you can ride whatever you want. You can start on a 125cc with 16 tho.. But that is mostly a waste of money.

    haha, here in austria we have the so-called code 111. this one means if you've had your drivers license (for a car) for at least 5 consecutive years (so no DUIs, no excessive speeding, no reckless driving...) you can get the aequivalent of a learners license with just an afternoon of practicing on the training course. and a lot of people do that! parking in cities is horrible, gas prices are atrocious, and since here laws on how banged up your car is allowed to be to be road legal are strict, cars are friggin expensive. many people leave their car at home in the garage and use their 125cc bikes as a cheap commuter. also, a tuono 125 can give you a lot of fun on a country road.

    Hahaha, you really hit the nail on the head with the learner permit solidarity. Here in Ireland I'm on my first bike, a 1995 Honda CB400, but it's restricted to 35kw for 2 years :(

    You missed the 'Australian Bogan Rider'
    Often seen riding any form of bike they can get their hands on (but mostly two stroke dirt bikes), these Aussies can be seen barreling down the road in nothing but a singlet, shorts and thongs (flip flops for Americans). They have no fear of injuries and can be seen sporting brutal sunburns all year long. The Aussie Bogan is a hardy but friendly rider who will regale you with stories of the times they have gotten road rash from coming off their bikes or broken bones while taking "mad" jumps out bush.

    5:00 Most Street Cams are on the Autobahn or similar roads that just go straight with a speed limit of 80kph or 100kph on Autobahn. There are nearly no cams and no cops on the twisty roads and if there is a camera it isn't that bad because mostly they just take a pic of the front, where there is no license plate

    OI! Youse can still have fahn on your CBR at 60kph. That's the joy of motorbikes cobber, they feel fast at low speeds and you can lean em over. Still yet to see any actual corners in your vids Yammie. If I lived where you did I would give up and buy a cruiser).
    (also I don't really say cobber, or cahn, but 'straya is definitely a thing

    depends where you are in straya for example up north its pretty common to see someone in a car or bike just going 20 over the limit so 100kmh instead of 80 plus we have all the abandoned mines that we race around just if you go on trails in dirt bikes where long pants snakes are everywhere and spiders 2
