When we have so many good options, we can get choice paralysis, and make mistakes. At 6:34 it would've been better to first use Lava Golem on the DPE and Malicious Bane, and continue from there.
Skill drain specifically says that it only negates the effects while the monsters are face-up on the field, so there's a reason it works that way vs book This Zarc ruling confuses me because if that's the case literally any monster with it's effects already negated should be able to resolve it's effects if it's flipped face-down as CL 2
@verbalengine95 It is because Zarc “forgets” that it was summoned by the trap card if it is flipped face down. So its effect will resolve as if it was summoned properly. This the case with the game in general. If a fusion summoned card is sent to the graveyard, then sent to the banished zone, it will forget it was fusion summoned. That was another example. It has been this way since the beginning of the TCG / OCG.
I still think that it's odd that monsters only remember the last way they were special summoned, yet still remember if they were properly special summoned.
7:17 - If the HERO player hadn't misclicked to not bring back DPE *AND* bricked, there's no way in hell they wouldn't have won like 10 times over. Me: (Plays Runick in any capacity with no floodgates a few months ago.) Everyone: "OMG cringe!", "Runick is so toxic!", "Every Runick card should be banned!!!", etc. This motherfucker: (Gets the ability to negate any effect, summon during either player's turn, pop a card at the *"COST"* of drawing THREE FUCKING CARDS FOR FREE on *TOP* of Fountain's effect, plays 22 cards and effects in ONE TURN FROM 4 CARDS, gets Maxx "C", and only loses because they didn't know about Kurikara.) 11:55 - Everyone in the chat: "My favorite deck, lessgo", "BASED", "BASED AND EPIC", etc. What. The. Fuck.
Furries. Ironic that janky Fur Hire builds are still losing to janky Striker builds to this day. Fur Hire Runick Spright is probably better than Spellbook Striker Charmers in general though.
Rulings. Zarc has it's effects negated when summoned by Soul of the Supreme King, but it can still activate them. If you flip it face down, the card "forgets" that it's negated and it's able to resolve the effect as if it wasn't, which is what happened here.
you mean how the effect got through? simple. by facing down a monster, the part that the monster is negated will vanish, thus no longer has its effects negated when it resolves.
The card Zarc was summoned with negates its effects, so the destroy the field effect would have failed. But because book of moon put it face down before the effect happened, the card forgets that it was negated and the effect goes off. Face down cards forget almost all effects that were applied to them while face up.
I thought it was THE Duel Logs from TheDuelLogs Duel Logs but since you wrote: "(NOT A VTUBER)' I must inquire: who is this Duel Logs since it cannot possibility be THE Duel Logs of TheDuelLogs Duel Logs as THE Duel Logs of the TheDuelLogs Duel Logs variety is most certainly a V-Tuber
Exactly why does that Zarc work? I know that popping a negated monster after it activated it’s effect, but before it resolves still negates the effect. I specifically remember stopping a Live Twin play by using ghost ogre as chain 2 and Effect Veiler as chain 3. Also when VFD was legal I was able to stop it by breakthrough skill chain 2 and 4 when my opponent tried to pop the VFD with Chuche as chain 3.
Face down monsters forget any negation applied to them even if the negation was already successfully applied. Supposing you activate Impermanence on a monster as Chain Link 2, in response to the monster's effect. As Chain Link 3, your opponent activates Book of Moon. Then you chain Effect Veiler as Chain Link 4. The chain resolves, and Effect Veiler successfully negates the monster's effects. However, when that monster is changed to face-down Defense position by Book of Moon, that negation is forgotten, and so, the monster's effect still resolves at Chain Link 1. However, if the card at Chain Link 2 in the above example was not Book of Moon, but a card that, say, destroyed their monster, or returned it to the hand, or something, as part of the effect, the effect would still be negated by Veiler because the effects on field were already successfully negated at the time. Only changing a monster to face-down Defense position removes negation. Also, changing a monster to face-down Defense position doesn't stop that monster's effects from being negated by cards like Ash Blossom or Borreload Savage Dragon.
Loving the content as always, but my brain is melting as to why the Floo player didn't use the Stri they had in hand. If I'm reading KC right, they couldn't summon more than what DuelLogs controlled if Logs had 1 or more monsters, but that wasn't the case after Raigeki. Granted, the turn after Logs set Skill Drain so that would have invalidated everything, and I might also misunderstand the PSCT of Kaiser Colosseum but it's throwing me for a loop either way.
Always remember, target negated cards are not negated when they leave the place where they were targeted. This why D.D. Crow worka and why you can use Droplets and other cards to activate naegated cards under Skill Drain
That’s not true, Skill Drain doesn’t target and only negated effects on the field only. If a card activates on the field and then leaves the field in that same chain after activating, the effect will resolve if it wasn’t one that required it to stay on the field
It's an alternative to kaiju. Kurikara can heavily punish opponent using monsters on your turn (negating your stuff or activating something preemptively, like shanria'ing your board) and can work as plan B when you use up all your resources going second. It's a niche, but very strong card.
I don't think duel links has that many monster quick effects that stay on the board which limits its Duel Links usage, it's good in formats where endboards have multiple quick effect interactions
I'm glad I won the replay wheel fair and square :D
true... but my duel felt more like something you would see on The Duel logs of the Duel logs fame...
full song wheel
Best Vtuber of all time.
the deck i was playing was full of banishment things but i bricked on them
Woah, is that my favorite VTuber, TheDuelLogs?
Wait, THE duel logs? Duel logs from the duel logs and the duel logs duel vlogs? Not to be confused with duel log? THAT Duel logs? Nice.
The spider maid himself
Duel Logs? The owner of the duel logs duel vlogs?
That's right!
the proud owner of the unfunny jokes, the duel logs !
Now that we can see card stats, these viewers will be doing their part to support Cup of Ace and Geh
The "not a vtuber" meme is still funny somehow
Duel logs had one bad day
They never expect the third Geh
DuelLogs managed to give us quite possibly the least intresting replay in the history of this series
My only regret is not letting my opponent punch me with Zarc for game.
He earned it. My opponent was just too BASED.
honestly fair
"Mr president the second Z-arc has hit the field"
10:30 OH I GET IT! It's cuz techically that Z-ARC isn't there anymore. Therefore, that card's activation can't be negated cuz ...where he at? lol
The equivalent of covering your eyes and a toddler thinks you disappeared
Thank you for including the wheel. Its su h a good bit
Ah Montage Dragon, of the Ungabungosis archetype what a joy to see it win people matches
So, we have TheDuelLogs, and also a replay featuring Divine Serpent Geh.
This is just an episode of Chaos Draft Season 1!
i miss playoffs

Artemis randomly chilling in the middle of that chaos around, as a spellcaster user. I approve this message
Found Endymion's TH-cam account
It looks like they really tried to convince them to activate rafael, but in the end they found another way out
I was expecting the wheel to speed up again like that one eric andre bit
50 cards in a floo deck is certainly one of the deck building decisions of all time.
10:08 book of moon is pretty neat, isn't it? That's why you can even use it to resolve effects while on skill drain as well.
Skill drain specifically says that it only negates the effects while the monsters are face-up on the field, so there's a reason it works that way vs book
This Zarc ruling confuses me because if that's the case literally any monster with it's effects already negated should be able to resolve it's effects if it's flipped face-down as CL 2
@@verbalengine95yep, that's how that works
Book of moon is powerful
@@verbalengine95 Yes that is in fact how persistent negates interact with Book of Moon
