  • Hi friend! thanks for joining me today! In this video I share with you my thought process when coming up with clean sounds.
    I went full geek on it and show you the essentials on Gain Structure and what makes an amp distort. The idea is that you can make your own tone. One that you really like! Come with me and lets get it!!

    Omg extraordinary video! Thanks a lot. You answer so many questions I don’t even have the level to ask myself. The way you explain the sound, how it is built, in theory, and how you feel about it, it’s so instructive. It definitely changed the way I configure my sound, and for the best.
    Thanks a lot for taking time to answer my last video comment about Tonex. I understand what you wrote better with your example. Maybe I can tell you how I use Tonex and what I want to achieve with Amplitube (and I’m still so far with Amplitube).
    Tonex is my live gear. I have many amps each for one specific situation, with a minimum effects on them, I’m looking for a raw sound to make people shake their head and move their hips basically.
    With Amplitube, I’m looking for a more “worked” sound, more subtile, with a lot of little things. But it’s way harder to have a satisfying sound with it. Tonex is a good help with that as the default amp are very good, but I manage to crap it anyway 😂 in some rare cases I managed to have something cool. Tbh, I’m not comfortable at all with pedals and effects, that doesn’t help feeling ok with Amplitube I guess.
    Also, Tonex is very cool when recording to have a base sound to listen to (clean / crunch / rythm / lead / …). I see those tools very complementary, even more with these kind of videos you make. Maybe if you want to (and have time for it) we can get in touch so I show you how I configure my Tonex and why I have it as the only gear I have (not talking about the guitar of course).
    Finally, even if Tonex models don’t behave exactly like real amps (honestly I find it pretty close), I have to admit I don’t care about the amp, it’s brand or whatever, it just gives a great sound very easily. The IR are a bit disappointing, but their are a couple of them that are quite good and it’s enough for live situation. You can bypass it anyway and use Amplitube IR which is way better for a recording environment.
    Thanks again for your video, I will watch it another few times on different devices so I can have a very clear idea of the sound you make. Once again, so instructive, I wish you the best

      Thank you so much for your nice comment!!! I Can see how tonex it’s a wonderful tool! It’s like having a Kemper Pedal!!! My gripe is beyond the utility 🤣🤣 it’s more against IK not releasing more amps models just because they’re riding that tonex wave! I hope they’re closing in to A6 or something like that!!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I wanna see Tone King! Two Rock! Bogners, DUMBLES!!! You know what I mean?!? 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 an actual KLON, Roland space echo, a Binson Echorec, you know?? Fun stuff! Keep building that Virtual Studio!!!! I’m so into the idea of having like a bunch of amps, and just vibe hard!! But not like all these all models. I like all the new stuff they did in the end of the A5 launch. Anyway! Thanks again for your nice comments friend! I appreciate you!

    For instance for the 59 Bassman ltd there is only volume knob instead of pre amp and master. So which one does this volume knob control? By the way great video, thanks!

    • @Itsjorgelanzas
      @Itsjorgelanzas  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That’s correct!! There’s a lot of amps without both knobs functionality. When there’s only one “Volume” or “gain” knob, that means it controls both, gain and output at the same time. These are the amps people say things like “it doesn’t sound good unless you crank it!” 🤣 because there’s no way to get the combination of gain and output volume that is perfect for you. Luckily, most virtual amps have an independent output knob for the plugin, so you can always balance how much distortion vs volume you have! 🙌🏻 I hope this comment helps, thanks for your nice comment friend!! I appreciate you! 🙏🏼🙏🏼

      @@Itsjorgelanzas Now i have few sliplees nights to change my settings with M-Audio card. Do you have any tips how to use clean and distorted on one project to play one song with bactrack at once? Of course with foot switch.

    • @Itsjorgelanzas
      @Itsjorgelanzas  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Just of the top of my head, I think the classic way would be: 1) using an amp at the edge of breakup and then a 4 knob guitar like a LP, then, vol around 4 in your neck PU, and full blast on your bridge and alternate to switch distortion types. I guess you could do the same with any guitar with your choice of treble bleed circuit and maybe get a damped pot so it’s not too easy to change volume, and play with the tones of the pickups. Or, 2)make a complex backing track like the pros use, with all the scene changes programmed into the session’s midi (this usually it’s only worth it if your REALLY want to go all out) 🤣 I loved rehearsing with the whole backing track, it gets you in shape faster than anything can! This is a nice topic, maybe if I come up with better ideas I should make a video! Anyway, sorry for the long reply, I hope you have a nice holiday weekend friend! I hope you have love and warmth, food and health. Or at least hope 🙌🏻🤟🏻

    Nice and simple tutorial. I do find it frustrating how much gain difference there is when selecting presets in Amplitube. Absolutely huge. Some are very loud, and others you can barely hear at all. I get that the amps are modeled accurately, and that gain is different between amps, but it’s a pain when browsing through presets.

    What is the difference between ToneX and Amplitube 5? Isn't APT 5 already simulates amps? Coud you make a video similar to this including toneX ??

    • @Itsjorgelanzas
      @Itsjorgelanzas  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Tonex, is a software that basically captures one static snapshot of how a specific amp with a specific set of settings with very little to no adjustability, depending on how picky you get. AT5, is pretty much like having the amp in front of you. You can do ANYTHING you would do to a real amp. Preamps react very similar to the amp, the eq, same, sag and all the nuances that make an amp are modeled. Maybe not absolutely to perfection, but super super good enough, if you know how to use it. Tonex sounds nice if you want the exact sound that they modeled and don’t wanna change anything at all. 😅 I hope this word salad helps my friend! 🙏🏼
