    What if you have this running 24/7 as a server? How hot would it get or how loud would it be. Aswell as would it cost a lot?

    question about HDMI port you install in the optional port. Where did you get it? currently Dell seems not to sell it.

      The HDMI port was sold by Dell directly it was optional module. You should give Dell a ring or email to ask and hopefully it still available the part.

    Great review. Optiolex are the best office desktops ever. I have been using them for many many years. I recently bought a new similar optiplex. Mine is not the mini but the small one. The reason being full power processor instead of low wattage in mini.
    I like the new background there. Is this your new studio?

      Thanks Sumit Roy, I have the 7080 small form factor version with me as well but nothing exciting about it as you know and great office desktop computer. Don't think I will do a video about it as it's pretty normal as expected. The Optiplex 7480 as well since we seeing more All in Ones these days, I might just do an internals for the techs who want to look inside it.

    Thanks, for this outstanding overview! When you mention USB-C port, can you always mention if it supports DisplayPort ? And for HDMI what version it is (assuming 2.0, but you never know...)

    • @BsianTech
      @BsianTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cheers Michael, thanks for the feedback, yes I should have mention the support on the USB-C port in the front. I'm so use to the front port not being displayport support that it's embedded in my mind as assumptions which I shouldn't do for the videos. In the 7080 Micro the USB-C isn't any different it doesn't support displayport. The displayports at the back is version 1.4A, that something I did forget to make mention of sorry. Normally with HDMI I try to mention which version they are because it is important. Thanks for the reminder to make note for the future videos =).

    Thank you for the review of this desktop! Can you tell please, what is a speed of the usb type-c? Is this machine good for coding or machine learning? Will external Gpu work well with it? I’m hesitating between HP 290 G4 Microtower PC (123P3EA) and DELL OptiPlex 5080 MFF , since it has usb type c and q470 chipset but hp has more powerful cpu without t letter. From one side, the hp has faster cpu from the other dell 5080 has usb type c port. Can you tell please, does this usb type c really make a difference in order to choose it over mentioned above hp model with faster cpu? As I understand, only CPUs with t letter can be put there as a replacement , since they are low voltage?

    We have 100+, awful units, fan is noisy, BIOS updated several times and now at 1.9.0. Many have their Zoom calls crash and keyboard strokes can get sluggish. They simply overheat is my belief. One forum said turn off Intel's TurboBoost and SpeedStep, then disabled the APSM. This resulted in a unstable system. Another forum suggested turn off hypertreading, which we're going to try.
    The problem with reviews, no review after a year of use. We had ours for almost a year, if I could, I would break the lease and send them all back.

    Nice Review Brother .It would be really helpful if you can tell me which of the two is the better one- macbook pro 13(2020) or Thinkpad x1 Carbon(7th gen).I’m a computer science university student and I’m really confused which one to buy from the two,I just want to know which is the better one.Ive seen your review comparing the two but I want a word from you considering my occupation.Thank you 😊

    • @BsianTech
      @BsianTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi John, welcome to my videos. This one is easy, X1 Carbon, better ports, better keyboard, can get touch screen version (the touchbar in the MBP is practically useless more than likely for your applications). If your looking at i5 then 7th Gen is same as MBP13 i5 version, if you looking i7 then it's the same as 8th Gen X1 carbon. X1 Carbon you can get docks that work. Then you also find better pricing on X1 vs the MBP too. If you have an iPad and iPhone then maybe MBP just because the sync between the different devices I can't fault but seriously software wise you find easier to deal with windows then macosx. Personally keyboard one of the big thing for the people who doing computer science I find.

    Hi, which brand would you buy after your review of Lenovo tiny, Nuc 9 & dell micro? I use autocad and revit for uni.

    • @BsianTech
      @BsianTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Performance wise NUC 9, but cost and warranty wise Lenovo and Dell. I haven't received the Lenovo P340 Tiny yet and still waiting. From my own experience I find the cooling in the Lenovo Tinys a little bit better in the past, only slightly. For your needs of Autocad and revit, go with the Tiny so you can get the Quadro in it which will be more stable than the Radeon in the Micro.

    • @sojiko
      @sojiko 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BsianTech Thank mate, value for money, the lenovo 330 tiny will be heavily discounted compare to the new 340 tiny. Would you buy 9th gen i7 or wait and buy the new 10th gen i7 in the new 340?

    • @BsianTech

    How would this go as a home theatre PC?
    I'm mostly just streaming content from a NAS over WiFi and playing using VLC. Only 1080p, nothing 4k.

      As a home theatre PC this will do fine, I have played many videos using VLC on this computer as well as TH-cam. I haven't run Plex on this pc yet but I doubt it will have any issue on it as my NAS which runs Plex is much much much lower spec in processor is able stream it as well.

Or should I go for a small form factor. I really like the compact size but I am concerned about overheating and cpu power.Thanks!
    I am also thinking about getting the Lenov PC ThinkCentre Tiny-M720q i7 16GB/SSD512GB WiFi. Any preferences? (Office use)
    Also I understand that the Lenovo micro (nano) our louder than the dells micro.

    • @BsianTech
      @BsianTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pleasure Dimitris Economou =), the Optiplex 7080 can easily run those long hours, we have plenty of these running 24/5 to 24/7. If your not gaming or running applications that require a lot of graphical power this nice micro size is all you need it save you nice space.

    • @BsianTech
      @BsianTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Welcome to my videos praveen singada, Lenovo have brought out the 2020 model of the thinkstation which is the P340 Tiny. Hoping to get my hands on it soon. Both the Dell 7080 micro and Lenovo P340 tiny can be configured very similarly but the P340 can house a more powerful graphics card. As a stock trader you won’t need the discrete graphics the onboard graphics will do you fine. So all comes down to price of the two in your country. If you comparing dell 7080 micro vs Lenovo p330 tiny, pure hardware for your case disregard price. The Dell 7080 micro has the edge with faster processor (10th gen vs 8th gen Intel in the p330). Hope that helps.

      Depends on which processor and what resolution you are trying to hit.
      I have a little computer like this with a 10th gen i5 that plays pretty much anything that is not a AAA game released in the last 3 years at 1080.
      Fortnight at low-medium settings is totally doable at 1080.
