Don't forget that this is a soviet-based vehicle. If something leaks from it it just means that there's still stuff inside. If there are no leaks, it's empty. :D
I fuckin love you guys for doing this. Its the highlight of any week/month whenever an update on the tank comes :D Incredible project. You could have done it so much simpler, but you actually restored it! Not just made it run! That is incredible. Thank you so much for doing this :D

Wow getting closer to cranking it up. The original type 69 didn't have a revolving floor and the breech could crush the loader if I remember correctly. I guess they fixed that on the Type II?
Having to deal with the differences between the Chinese type 69 and the Soviet T55 on which it is based...at least the Chinese thought to document them in English. Some Porsche cars have headlight washers, and they are often called "periscope washers" due to their resemblance to a periscope.
Nice to see your work on this tank is progressing well how long will it be before the turret comes back to be fitted, and I'm glad to see you use english subtitles for us none Dutch speakers please can use it more thanks all best and keep safe one and all. 🇬🇧👍👍👍
It's diesel, not very volatile. It needs to be atomized to burn so it's low risk. But yeah I agree it does seem a bit unsafe, if the right conditions are met there is a chance of fire.
Even if they get pierced and catch on fire, there’s a hole in it. So It falls to the ground. Plus, since it it on the outside, away from things that matter, like your big fuel tanks, and your engine, and you, you can return fire unaffected. They even used fuel cans as extra side armor on the Strv 103C. And the Soviet design philosophy as it is pretty much used the fuel as extra armor for the ammunition, seeing as that primary rack sitting in front of the loader, like 16 or so rounds, is also a fuel tank.
They have not yet painted the top side yet, they where interrupted by bad weather when they painted the engine cover. When the turret is done they will paint the parts again
06:00 All this engineering for the inside tanks but then the russians placed three exposed tanks on the outside too. I guess this tank was thirsty out in the battlefiled and they needed extra storage...
