Odd that this game is called X2 Wolverine's Revenge, and it has a cover of Hugh Jackman in it. While it has nothing to do with the movie. Also, Mark Hamil did the voice of Wolverine himself. This game brings me so much memories.
It was meant as sort of a spin-off. X-2 sort of introduced William Stryker to the then cinematic universe, so an origin story to follow-up makes some sense, even if they could have called it anything else. The movies were well received. People wanted more Wolverine. It certainly isn't the first time a company's ridden the curtails of a movie's success and it won't be the last.
its literally meant to be how he got the adamantium and what happened between the 2 movies w the introduction of Stryker. They weren't going to pay hugh jackman in 2004 to do a video game
I used to play this game RELIGIOUSLY when I was a kid so much so it almost feels like a fever dream. I remember always freaking tf out every time Wolverine went into his feral rage mode and his HUD portrait started tweaking, virtually traumatising. Sadly never even got to start Act 5 with Magneto because my disc was scratched to hell and it always froze on the Act 5 loading screen. Genuinely once sat for 30 minutes just watching Magneto T-posing at me waiting for it to load. Nostalgia heaven. Also big up the unlockable secret bloopers and Spider-Man cameo

This is one of my favourite games of all time. I love the stealth elements and the fact that the collectibles are easy to find so that you can play as classic versions of Wolverine. Plus Mark Hamill is always an absolute plus in any medium.
My kid self never got past the Wendigo level until years later. He was terrifying (especially with the cool music!) but also infuriating to fight because my Hamillrine kept locking onto him when he charged.
This game had the best version of sabertooth we've ever had. As a kid playing this i was terrified of him. If they do him in live action again they should look to his design here. He's big and bulky, but theres this sly and creepy element to him and the teeth and white eyes are nightmare fuel. He's like an animalistic serial killer chasing and stalking wolverine through the halls of the weapon x facility n the atmosphere adds to it. He's not meant to be a big dumb brute. He's a Clever and sinister mutant that favors not just ripping you to peices but attacking psycologically as well. Absolute favorite villain and im glad they did him justice

It's sooo satisfyingly weird to see a PlayStation 2 game from well over 20 years ago with a character who's not only currently still in theatres, but is also in one of the main roles in one of the biggest films of the year.
I noticed this game is getting some attention now. I played it around 2010 on pc and loved it. The atmosphere, stealth, story, bosses, takedowns/executions were great imo. That Wendigo stage has stuck with me even after all these years. The game def has some flaws and isn't perfect, but if you're a Wolverine fan I highly recommend it. Plus they have Mark Hamill voice Logan.
I remember owning this game and being terrified of the first level due to the intense music and Logan's face on the left corner reacting to either pain or when he went berserk.....child fears are weird 😂

The fact that his claws coming out actively hurt and if you think about he's fighting his healing factor while they're out.. so in a way it makes sense and something they should've implemented in the comics besides just "adamantium poisoning". Basically his skin is constantly trying to fill the space where they come out of but while the claws block that his healing factor is probably freaking out! Imo
Not necessarily. True, while he extending them, they cut through his hand but once they're out, his healing factor instantly heals the surrounding skin, muscle and nerves and gets cut again when he retracts them
He was born with claws, i dont understand how them coming out would affect his healing unless he’d already developed adamantium poisoning. But yeah taking damage from extending them makes sense.
So, can tell you with real life experience how the body “heals” around metal inside of it. Scar tissue. So, not wrong but really when out, just “scab” up essentially, when retracts, cut through the scar tissue again. Logan movie kinda gets into it, would hurt like hell putting them out or retracting them and eventually it just stops healing at all.
