- All that Scratch Battle DJ was destroyed at this legendary play!
QBert said, "He changed everything," is committed to this. Well, it makes sense if you look.
More then a DJ is doing almost an order of magnitude.
This video was uploaded to youtube so far, but I think not.
It's rare! Please enjoy!
Philadelphia had some SPOOKY DJ's back in the days!! 💯
I am a true NYer and have a bias for my favorite NY DJ's but this game would be nothing without Philly.
💯💯💯

Salute!!!! Also, I'll say that in this growth of our music, New York was way ahead of the sampling game! I remember around this time frame, everybody was jumping on RIP Jame's Brown samples. The early day's of digging in the crates! And, No White People Music! LMBO.
@@cdedditsNo white people music? Guess you forgot how many white people music was used in the early days. Kraftwerk, art of noise etc.
@@bboybreaks6487 sampling of Jazz, Gospel and Funk plus the blues was like going to the shopping market and going to the Isle called jazz and then we grab some horns from yardbird and a trumpet Solo from Miles DAVIS and then go to the Isle of funk and get 2 different parts of the strawberry letter from the brothers Johnson and a cup of Bootsies rubberband! 🛒🛒. And then you you find the value isle and look at what white album you know or think it has a drum riff or tambring on the cover ✅.
The whistles are killing me. Cash is more Marvelous than his MC could ever seeee
I was there. This guy was the real deal.
You was blessed man!
Still is.
I agree, deffo G.O.A.T!
So was I , bumped into Mantronix in the hallway and got a selfie with him!
Me too! I remember being blown away. It was a great time to be into Hip hop as it was so new, there was so much going on at the time, with concerts on every week. I think this was at Astoria, or Hippodrome.
This DMC comp is what got me into dj-ing. Saved up all my Paper Round money and bought my first set of decks. A pair of SoundLab DPL1's. (Technics wannabes). Eventually got Technics. Still have them today and il never sell them.
Vinyl Rocks!
Killin' it!
Philadelphia DJs make it look easy
Yes we do
I always thought he was better than Jazzy Jeff .
@@kdub2229 , I'm waiting to hear about that story because Jeff has finger prints all over cash money's style! Money over Jeff period!
Thank you CASH MONEY for showing us the battle style position for the turntables!
Cash Money is the MAN!
courtesy of Grand Wizard Rahsheen of Philly
@@DaManDL Absolutely!!!! none other then Grand Wizard Rasheen!
@@DaManDL thank you, because I never knew that!🙏
I always thought Cash was better than Jeff , but it's a very close second 'cause I've heard Jeff do some things that make me go Wow.
@@kdub2229 What did Cash do that topped Jeff's Live at Union Square routine?
God Damn That DJ Made My Day!
Remember watching this on VHS back then. Still Blows me Away today
damnnnnnn he destroyed that Gemini fader for sure amazing
So many does not understand the truth of your comment
REAL DEAL RIGHT HERE!! NO LAPTOP OR ETC.JUST REAL TALENT!!
He uses one now though ;)
Today's non vinyl DJ's would choke on his records.
i realize I'm kinda randomly asking but do anyone know a good place to stream newly released tv shows online?
@Muhammad Vivaan Lately I have been using FlixZone. Just google for it :)
@Israel Jack Definitely, I've been watching on FlixZone for years myself =)
@Israel Jack Thank you, I went there and it seems like they got a lot of movies there :) I appreciate it!!
@Muhammad Vivaan No problem :D
Not a damn piece of coded vinyl nor a laptop in sight , This is how we used to do it in our bedrooms !!!
CASHMONEY is the most influential dj of the 80's! those double up juggles(pre-beatjuggin) and rhythm transformer scratches was invented by him!! I think this is the 1988 eliminations tape which is no longer in the DMC catalog!
this is REAL D.J.ing! nowadays these kids cheat wit all their computer technology & they call themselves D.J.s! They should be ashamed of themselves! They got shit that mixes for you!
When you can do shit like this, then you can call yourself a D.J.!!
Shout to all the old school D.J.s,...that put in real work!!!
Well said!
A true craft and skill that is a foundation of Hip Hop.
They got shit that mixes for you!
Exactly. They're all cheaters all right. This is the real thing. Hard work.
Correction - When you can do shit like this, you can call yourself a legend!
QueenLaMadrina as a dj that us 13 i use vinyl collect vinyl no faking technics 1200 and a bunch of soul funk disco and hip hop
Damm,... got me wishing I could go back and be there live.. Just watched this 3 times in a row. What controll. 11 people don't know what they are witnessing! Man this is sick AND he is performing this great with record on top of records. Tough shit to pull of when your want your scratches to come correct. MUCH RESPECT!!!
IN Philly he had a show called "ALL WORLD SHOW" it was one of the best shows a DJ could have on 103.9 FM it came on once a week and I tell ya it was awesome... Back in the late 90's a producer/dj could really get into it... Big up to Cash Money and when I first heard of Cash Money records we all thought it was his and we're like down south label - what - anyways it's all good!!
Salute Cash Money.. incredible, thank you for posting this fuegovision ... how that old song go.. last night a dj saved my life... bigups to the cosmic selectors that have saved lives many many times..
simply the very best
When he did the Whodini Big Mouth rhythm with Rock The Bells it was a wrap. Judges shouldve gave him the win right there.
You know how mind blowing that mustve been in 1988 in the world final?
It's mind blowing still to this day.
This was NOT the World Finals, just the USA finals... LEGENDARY video is here th-cam.com/video/rM1KlEeTiSw/w-d-xo.html
Mind blowing in 2020. I think I would’ve lost my mind seeing this live back in 88.
@@mrcosta6963 This was from the World Championship Eliminations (Semifinals) in The UK
@@rexmundi649 you can hear the english accent from the mc
This never gets old! We Love you Jerome!!
Thanks for the upload this brings back memories
Scratch nesses mixers era brabo...esses caras é que eram as verdadeiras feras...
I wasn't born when he was doing this performance, but nowadays it's still fresh and it still inspires me :D rare and priceless upload!
30 yrs later and still wicked as hell . CCCCasshmoney on da cut
Thanks ! 4 this.
Absolutely amazing!
1988 was the Year🏆🏆🏆classic everything this performance personified Hip Hop Culture 🛰🎤🎙🔥🔥🔥
This performance was great but it was the semi final.
The legendary performance was the final. Much sharper and with a great extra element:
His response with "callin' me a sucker" to the diss by All Star Fresh's "I'm Cash Money's M0therf@cker" adding the battle element.
Every time I need to get motivated, I watch a Cash Money or DJ Scratch video!!
That is some fugn historical ish!! Unbelievable! Thanks for the upload...
Man like Cash Money back in day 👊🏿
This is when being a DJ took talent! Not just pressing buttons like now. These dudes today wouldn’t know what to do with turntables
Man this just took me back!!! Much luv to Dj Cash Money he is still doing his thing even now! Speed is what you need if finesse is what you want to possess!!!!!
Stop it Cash!!! You killin em!!
This my era here! I remember see cash money & jazzy Jeff back in the day! Hands down they were the top two DJs in Philly! They use to go off cutting up " it's time" I remember Jeff battling dj cheese from NY! The show was called Philly vs NY at the spectrum in Philly! Jeff was cutting the song, "we only buggin" it's a whistle in that song, Jeff had that shit sounding like a bird was in the building chirping! Those were the days!
Amazing!
made other dj's look ordinary at the time top album as well give it a listen, thanks for posting this blast from the past
I was 15 when i saw this Performance...it was very far out for me!
HIs Transformer Scratching was from a different Planet!
LL Cool J is.. si..ah.ha..ah..ha...ah..ha..ha...
Still sounds very fresh an tight today! Big thanks for sharing this!
nice performance, always killing it!
Could watch that all day!
Awe inspiring set. Truly amazing. Peace yo.
I Like 80's. Very Nice DJ!!!
Born and raised in Logan-Hunting Park and Disco Rat, Jazzy Jeff and Cash Money rocked the Pavillion in the 80's
Great!!!
One of my favorite djs the DMC was dope back in the day the very best in turntablism.
One of the best ever dj's
This is how it was done. No Loop in, loop out button.
Wow I remember this good looks on this post.
True Inovator!!!!
10 djs who cannot scratch disliked this
This is mind-blowing!!!
I'm with you. It's like some British thing. You can hear it at the beginning of "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" when they're doing the show in London and I think they still do it today at like garage or grime clubs or whatever.
still got this on video...dmc 88 !!! dope
Sometimes I have to see this amazing performance. Cash Money!!!!
That Boy "CASH MONEY" is a Beat. Unstopable.
Reminds me of 2manyDjs.
2 Belgian brothers, awesome DJs
INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!
my favorite dj
Classic dj. Still on net😊😊😊
Chills watching this, 30 years on. Fundamentals of hip hop right here.

The good old days! As Hip Hop was Hip Hop...don't belive the Hype!!!!

2019 Dope!!
Nice sweater! I'm sure Mackelmore would be interested.
To this day I see it, it's Amazing!!! I also think this mix was more beautiful than the mix in the final. Ca$h Money Is The Best!!! 😊👍🎧🎶🎵🎼💿💿
One of the best in the world from Philly
Dope
The Best period and I grew up on Grandmaster Flash
Its crazy that in Philly it was like 10 Maybe more just as good it was just our thing.... Jazzy Jeff and DJ Miz crazy wit it too
I was there🎉
It is hard to say! DJ David is insane! No doubt.
1988 this is 1 of best sets iv ever seen
Wow, legendary but, somehow, I've never seen this before.
I've yet to see anyone better than DJ Cash Money.
Love Cash money....but check out DJ Aladdin from the following year.
Still Dope Cash Money💰! 2020
Never saw this before! I didn't even now Cash went to the 88 DMC. I have the tape where he won the 87 DMC. Very nice to see this.
Joe Rodriguez won the 87 DMC. The only DMC Cash won was 88, but he did win the 87 Seminar..that might be the battle you have on tape.
mysterymediacorp
I think this is from the elimination stages which have maybe 20+ DJ's and the winners go through to the Finals the following day.
Dopeness
DOPE!
Dayuuuumm!!
The Best Ever DJ Cash Money from near me Philly OYEAH :)!
Can’t believe he was doing all this in 1988. This changed the game forever
LEGENDARY !!!!!!!!
Ugly People Be Quiet is still a lesser-known gem of the early hip-hop era.
Woooooo!!!🌀🌊😱
Legendary ...
The best to ever do it
Merciless
Woowww Amaziiinnngggg !!! =oo
This just blows my mind @ 1:50
Isn't this the elimination round before the actual final?
Legendary.
Yeah y'all
His transforming is wicked
in the middle of the 80's - i begun with now called turntabelism - i'm a nobody - i watched Cash after the chad jacksen ******* you know. and what i saw, in the first minutes of Cash's play, i realized that there is a big one comin' - he changed the whole game you know - that transform scratch was made by HIM - he created it - and the whole bunch of DJ's around the world adopted it ! who I am ? as i said, a nobody from germany. but guys - i was a contemporary witness - and i've met Q-Bert ind Frankfurt - long time ago. Great !!! But I never met Cash...
DJ Cash Money is in my opinion the godfahther of transform-scratch - thanks for reading...
Absolute genius at scratching God knows how he managed to pull off such scratches on an old mixer flawlessy
