Long time lurker here- but I’ve slowly been building up the desire to go to the gym (after a year of nothing but home workouts in avoidance of gym anxiety), all throughout watching your channel. Anyways, today I woke up at 5am and went to an actual gym for the first time. Thanks Patty for the inspiration and for sharing your journey with people like me!
Ohh you did so well! It takes courage to do something in spite of the fear! So I dare you to do it again 😜 Imagine yourself in a year when that gym will be your home turf and you striding in all comfortable 🥰 Happened to me last year - never went to the gym for the most part of my life and now I love it! Going that first time is the hardest part. Stick with it! When I first started going I had no idea what I was doing, so I'd watch TH-cam videos for each exercise to make sure I was doing them properly. I'm shy/awkward so I felt really weird doing that, but you have to do what you have to do to meet your goals. I never had experience lifting, and I was a scrawny 134lbs as a full grown male. I'm at 200lbs on the dot now, and getting into it is one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Knee health is needed for spine health. I learned this the hard way with needing a knee replacement from a skiing accident 28yrs ago. So strengthen those knees and quads! You go Patty!!!
Working out can easily cause knee problems, so you gotta be careful and pay attention to how your body reacts to stuff. I've had bad knees my whole life, I've had to cut the majority of leg lifts because of my knees. Cardio-based workouts are just better for me all around, personally. Also, some friends and people I've spoken to who never had knee problems developed knee issues from lifting, and have also chilled out on their exercise selection overtime.
I finally got my home gym set up after being out of the gym for over 10 years. Getting back into it I finally got past the "Have to throw up phase" every time I worked out. So been hitting it harder and my wife got interested. So got her working out. We both are down 50 lbs and she watches you all the time. Been working hard for about 2 months now with the weights and already seeing a lot of gains. The dead lift section really helped out. Was always unsure about how to do properly. Thanks Patty.
When I feel sad I watch your videos because they ground me and make me laugh (and I save the workouts to try). You are the coolest! Thank you for your content!
The Precor one where you put your leg between the two rollers gives me terrible bruises, I hate it so much that I thought I hated the exercise, but another gym I go to has a Life Fitness one where the pad comes down on top of your thigh and it is lovely. I think lots of people hate them because they tried a slot type and it didn't fit them

Thank you for taking that brief moment to teach others that importance of taking care of the gym, and being respectful so that (1) it can stay nice for everyone, (2) people aren't forced to clean up others messes, and (3) gym employees aren't forced to do this. In 10 years with all these "influencers", i've heard the topic come up maybe once but otherwise no one ever takes the time to teach all those they influence that people should clean up after themselves. Even though it should be common sense, sadly it's not and it's only been getting worse. So thank you Patty.

Holaaaa muchachaaaa! Nick here, with a bit of a story and a low-key but genuine concern for eveyone's safety...but especially Lean Beef Pattys'. An ex GF of mine was working out doing some shoulder to overhead movements (retired top level DIV 1 NCAA Crew member), when she noticed that she started to have a pretty big and rough headache. After the session, she went home, took a shower and still had the headache. She almost went to bed (which could have been a fatal move) to get away from the headache...but decided to go to the hospital and get it checked out...just in case. Subsequently she was then airlifted to a level 1 trauma center where she recovered for 10 days or so from a brain bleed. This gal was a very health conscious person. Never ever drank, didn't touch drugs, never smoked or anything to that effect. When she looked back at the movements, she remembered just kind of powering through these overheads and maybe just not breathing properly or at all at some points. Obviously breathing and using the breath with every movement is super eseential when goin' HAMMMMMM. I only brought this up because I havee seen that sometimes, although not while doing overheads so far...I notice once things get a bit hard/heavy etc, the breathing with the movement seems to get a little thrown out the window. Hopefully this message is well received and of course, keep on kickin' assets! 🤗
That’s awful. Thanks for sharing. I feel busted blood vessels in the head can also really be awful, I think I did that awhile ago. It bugged me for a long time. I was doing another exercise when it happened but it came on fast. I went to two doctors and cried that I was afraid of a brain tumor. But they wouldn’t give me a cat scan because I’ve had one years ago for migraines and they don’t want to expose me to radiation again or whatever.
This is another reason LBP is cool!!! How many women content creators will actually have a fart sound while doing heavy hip thrusts!!! 😂😅 Patty… you are THE BEST!!!!

Glad she specified the name, I didn't know what midol is. What the hell kind of concentration is that stuff to handle cramps though? Seems like the equivalent of the quadruple dose ibuprofen the orthodontic surgeon gives out for post-surgery.
@SideBit in Midol, there is caffeine in addition to acetaminophen which allows it to be faster acting. Different strengths will have different concentrations but will be similar in dosage to an extra strength Tylenol.

Seated hamstring curl should be a standard at every gym, best feeling hamstring movement and it’s not even close.
