Why did the chugging on the gain channel sound like it was out of breath? For lack of a better phrase. It sounded like it was extra muted during the palm mutes.
I was suspicious of this until I found out these are made in Tokyo, Japan. That pretty well guarantees high-end craftsmanship. My best Fenders are recent MIJs.
Zemaitis - this man is from lithuania, but died in ~2002, after that japan bought company.. But please not forget - this man was lithuanian!, not japan..
I have the GZV500 Tribal. Basically a Gibson V body with a tribal aluminium top. These guitars are full mahogany so you might want the brightest pickups you can find . The bigest problem is that the pickup rings are not angled so they stay paralel with the strings so that is one more reason they sound a bit dark. I ordered the same pickup rings as Gibsons have on their V models and the difference is quite big. I agree tho this should not be an issue on a 3k guitar but in my opinion is not a deal breaker. I know I am a bit late with this ...it is what it is.
I'm here for the Fluff's riffs. But I gotta say: if this guitar does not even sound nice on a Mesa Triple Crown, it's not reliable for me. Plus, having this big chunk of metal in my hands would make me think of a lightning strike ⚡️
Just your hands on the strings will do it...next time you're playing, grab the strings and then grab a metal lamp with the other hand and get ready for a ride.

James Hetfield has some beautiful Zemaitis guitars. One common one is his V & he has a couple Les Paul shaped ones that are sick! Especially the rusted looking one he has.
The rusty-looking ones are by James Trussart - another fine manufacturer of metal guitars - but he does have at least one custom Zemaitis singlecut too. :-)
I personally like the way it looks but it definitely doesn't sound that good to my ears. In other videos it sounds pretty good so perhaps its the "metal" tone that doesn't work with these particular pickups.
The flat top is my only gripe, as I need something to put my arm on for comfort levels. Not a massive deal breaker on the company though, as they do have a crap ton of stuff to choose from, just on this one.

The song itself and guitar playing in the video is really cool, but there's no attack coming from the instrument. Not anything that can be heard.. It sounds like the rhythm playing is being ducked in and out at certain points. Probably being washed out by compression/limiting.. Part of what makes a good guitar demo (for me) is hearing the attack of a pick striking the strings. Really gives an idea of how the instrument sounds. For the strumming type stuff of course. In some of the other demos on your channel you play with a pretty aggressive picking hand, so I think it must be something with the mix and TH-cam upload.. The guitar doesn't sound good

When basically the whole comment section can agree that this guitar really doesn't sound good but in the video you praise it like it's the best thing you've ever played, you really lose your credibility when demoing gear, man.
Hetfield does actually have a few Zemaitis guitars as well as the Trussarts. He used a GZF-500MF Flying V for a while on the World Magnetic tour, usually for cover songs towards the end of the set, and he has a custom singlecut model from Dave of England, who was Tony Zemaitis' appointed successor before the company moved to Japan.
after watching Ola's videos, then watching Fluffs next, Fluffs his tone always sounds like a Line 6 pod, and the mix is just lacking in punch or definition!

Noise gate set improperly, or compression set improperly.
I think the noise gate was improperly used, it killed the guitar's attack

You're right on that rusty one. I know I've seen him with a LP shape Zemaitis & a V shape. I think the V one is his recent.

Very loud acoustically and sustains for years are incompatible. The more energy is wasted on acoustic sound the less is "sustained" in the strings.
