As an avid hiker and backpacker who has never hunted this looks incredible. A convergence of so many disciplines into an activity that humans have relied upon for thousands of years. Great video!
Great video guys! You two really have something special to have such a bond and love for the back-country! Truly is a blessing to share these moments with our brothers and sisters.. Im now accepting best friend applications for the back-country....
I totally agree with you about wanting to get far from roads, trails, and people. Unfortunately videos like this pump people up to go deep more and more haha I know it did for me. Great video.
@@Argali That is a terrific point. As much as I hate seeing other hunters when I'm out... The more of us the better! Hey shouldn't you guys be hunting!?!! I'm going hard for big mulies tomorrow. Deeeeeep.
@@Argali Also you and your brother remind me so much of my brother and I! Definitely awesome relationship you two have. It's rare. Treasure it. You guys are my favorite TH-cam keep striving in the wild and never give up on your dreams of a big buck because where there's a will there's a way you guys are great just the way you are
Pro tip, move over to a Warbonnet hammock setup. The hammock allows for more location options for a camp on the steep side hill country. Been a game changer for me.
Argali It took me a little bit to get used to the hammock too. The asymmetrical design of the Warbonnet helps a bunch though as you lay across it diagonally which makes it a pretty flat space to lay. Next pro tip...Sawyer mini filter...huge space and weight saver.
I found your TH-cam channel this evening and I really appreciate your efforts and willingness to share. Good luck and thanks a ton. Life is short, so make the best of it!
Ryan S. thank you for the kind words. We have another film, Harvest Moon that will be in the 2017 full draw film tour, and a few more projects in the works this year. Harvest Moon will be released online later this summer. Stay tuned for more.
Much obliged, James. Lots of stuff in the works. We'll have a film in the Full Draw Film Tour here shortly, and another big project in the works. Thanks for watching.
Found you guys yesterday. I like your style and the fact your description points out it's not all pulling a trigger with the best tag you can get. Go hunt! The kill, though a climax, has always been very low on the list of what makes a good hunt for me.
OutdoorsNZ we have a film starting to tour with the Full Draw Film Tour now called Harvest Moon. We'll release that once it's done touring later this summer.
ARGALI Glad I found your channel and the vid/documentary is so well done. Incredible footage and production. Absolutely loved it!! Tells a great story. Thanks for taking us on your adventure and sharing your "wild place" with us!!
It's always good to see this amazing footage from God's country. I recognize a few of the spots but I'm curious how far were you getting into the back country?
Very nice work guys. You really captured the emotion that goes along with a backcountry hunt, I wish more of the cable tv hunting shows could do what you did. Liked and subbed.
truly special film guys. well done all around. the footage and cinematography is top notch and captures everything that backcountry hunting is. Whats your camera set-up if 'i may ask?
Sean, we've used many different packs, but the seek outside goshhawk or Peregrine and/or the mystery ranch Metcalf are perfect for that length of trip.
Recording your efforts was very well done , a smooth documentary with great foto -shots...it's a good bet you'll give another go at Alpine Muley questing . Keep recording and hunting; you can only get better at both....
Jrake Outdoors Chasing Ridgelines was shot on three different cameras: the Sony A7s with Atomos Shogun recorder, Sony RX10 Mark II, and a little on the Canon 5D Mark III using the Raw Magic Lantern hack. And I think we used a go pro somewhere in there.
One of the best hunting films i've ever seen. Simply awesome! Was that a Vortex Razor 50mm spotter? Thinking about that one for my first backcountry hunt.
That's the Seek Outside "Lil Bug out + 3 piece vestibule". We sell a number of floorless, lightweight shelters, but what we would recommend depends on what you plan to do with it. For backpacking hunting with a stove, check out the Cimarron/Large titanium stove combo from Seek Outside on our website.
Just found your great video. It was well done, but you need to work on your flinch when shooting. Curtis's head was off the gun before he even pulled the trigger.

Haha true enough! But honestly, if more people use the backcountry, more people will want to protect it so that's fine by us.

One thing that has served us well is to scout as much as you can before the season. Best of luck!
what kind of backpacks do you use? Thanks!
Hey Patrick, we've probably used it all over the years. Mystery ranch, seek outside, exo, etc. Right now we are using Exo packs and like them.

Where's the kill shot on video? Nice Buck tho..
Kill shots are overrated! Kidding. The angle we had and terrain made it tough to get the shot on video.
