As a military guy, we used to hike a lot. I suggest if you're hiking a lot, bring more socks. And good quality socks too. Great socks are not expensive and your feet will be grateful
Is it true your resting metabolic rate is so low? That inspired me with how I hunt. North Dakota fellow here. Your exercise style helped me get through a collapsed lung. Remi you rock.
Where's your med kit? I've been hurt badly only one time in 20 years in the back country, but was thankful I had my updated kit. Things happen. Please be prepared. Minimal weight & bulk, but we'll worth it when it counts.
Brandon Maynard - most packs split apart between frame and bag so you can stuff your game bag with meat, then put it between backpack bag & frame. Get back to truck dump your back pack crap & meat, then make trip back with frame & straps to grab the rest. A lot of people I know will do multiple trips like hike a mile or two dump meat, go back for other meat, and continue that process till your down the mnt and your at the truck. Personally, just call a very good friend if your lucky enough to have that kind of friend let alone good cell service. Also my thought is the first load should be desirable meats, backstraps, tenderloins, head/bone for your mount. Then go back for the quarters you put in game bags & strung up in trees with parachord. Or debone & stuff as much meat as your legs can take.
Yes first trip between pack & frame. The other is in pack which is why he uses a contractors bag. I heard him say when he’s done processing meat, he puts them in game bags, then puts his game bags in contractors bag so blood doesn’t drip in pack & get bacteria growing - which it does really quick, and begins to spoil meat.
G'day Remi, if you're going to carry a bic lighter in your pocket, put it somewhere where it won't compress the trigger and let out all the gas! Been there had it happen and I always pit it in a sistema brand clipcase with some paper, char cloth or some tinder(: but other than that, great video fella!
Anyone hunt the early season desert mountains? Last year I hunted NM Ibex in Oct it was 93 degrees and I couldn’t change my socks out enough from my feet sweating so bad? Boots I used were Red Wing Irish Setter. This year I drew Oct Desert Bighorn and just purchased the Kuiu Scarpa GTX non insulated! Been out on a few hikes and feet still sweat heavy! Any Ideas on foot wear or to prevent the wet sock and shoe issue?
Anyone know what pistol he brings for side arm. Hes mentioned grabbing it during the bear attack, but never talked specifics about about what he carries
Hey I am curious what if anything can you do if your bow string gets damaged? Or is your main effort to prevent damage? I am only familer with traditional bows in which I carry an extra string just incase.
@@malakaiisaacs some of the brand new Mathews have a system where you can change the string in the field but honestly I don’t think I would others carrying a whole other string unless I knew I was gonna be out for weeks
Looks like exactly what I hunt in sometimes. Remi is a legend. When solo there's only one person to blame for mistakes.
God. Blame god

What is the total pack weight with everything in it?
Mike Hunts that was my question
1 year in, still no response 🤣
I’m guessing like most pack the weight is prob between 30-35 lbs? But that’s a guess my be heavier due to that giant ass msr reactor jk
@@clarencemaximum8553 offer him a place to hunt he will respond
Pro Tip!! Always, Always. Long spoon!
that bush was like "seriously bro?"
Informative and beneficial video
TP? Gotta keep that handier than the spotting scope.
Use a piece of your boxer shorts.
Phil Ward what I was thinking! And baby wipes.
Thanks for the break down. Just wondering how you'll be able to pack the meat with the gears? By the way when you coming back to Kodiak to hunt?
The big packs like that typically open up between the frame and the pack to put a large game bag of meat. Good pack will run ya $350 to over $600.
More than one trip out to your vehicle after you harvest an animal

Brumasterj trail runners
Gold bond/baby powder on your feet, socks on, then baby powder inside the boot before you put it on
@brumasterj
Anyone know what pistol he brings for side arm. Hes mentioned grabbing it during the bear attack, but never talked specifics about about what he carries
Using a pistol in a bear attack is a really good way to die. Bear spray is far more effective.
Can someone tell me the name of the jacket at 3:28 ? I want to get one.
Did you ever figure out what its called? I also want to get one.
Hey guys, I'm was just wondering what the approximate weight of what Remi Warren packed here?
