I like this show so much better than the unrealistic one shown on MTV in the USA ~ “16 & Pregnant” & “Teen Mom OG”. Those shows seem to, at least in my opinion, almost make it seem like having a baby at 16 or younger look glamorized, especially when you look at that one “mother” Farah Abraham. She’s despicable. I guarantee young girls purposely got pregnant watching her & looking up to her. This show however I feel shows the truth and the reality of what young teen moms go through and the struggles & hardships they face. They’re not being paraded around tv making themselves famous & getting plastic surgery and trying to be tv reality stars constantly. The USA version they get paid pretty well (clearly) especially the OG cast. This show doesn’t do that. They stay to the point & I think many young girls who see this show, which would be more of reality than the USA ones, would see it’s not all fun & games. Most all the girls on this show truly struggle to get by and make things work. With that said, I will say I’m impressed with this young moms ability to have pulled herself together quickly, keep her home spot clean, take good care of her child, be organized and have set goals despite her mothers constant talk of her needing to be a teenager and go out and what not. This girl clearly understands that’s not her reality anymore and that yes it’s ok to go out sometimes to see friends she’s not the typical teenager anymore and she knows it & doesn’t want to be like her mom. I don’t want to bad mouth her mom, because regardless that is her mom & she loves her mom, I just hope she keeps pushing forward and doing the right things. She appears to have a good head on her shoulders and I believe she can do well for herself & her son. I wish this young lady all the best & her son.
Exactly. This show is good because it doesn't criticise or romanticise teen mums. The mothers really love their children, but they clearly struggle emotionally, and usually financially.
I do agree that shouldn't be glorified there are some teen mums that do glorify it like Farrah and there are some who really love their kids and try and show us the hardships on how hard it is actually in to be a mother young.
yeah i think thats the issue with the 'teen mom' american shows (also the UK version of it as well) - they become 'celebrities' out of it and make a ton of money, so i felt it did glamorise it in that sense, where as with this series they kept some privacy (didn't reveal last names) or do follow ups or anything.
i feel the opposite. aside from a very few people (like farrah), i felt 16 & Pregnant did show the struggles of being a teen mom. i remember one girl saying, "don't make permanent decisions based on temporary feelings." and i felt that the last few episodes that I watched of Underage and Pregnant were glamorizing teen pregnancy; there were so many episodes where the girl decided to get pregnant on purpose, made it look so easy, or they stayed with the fathers, and everything looked so perfect. there was one girl that had 5 kids with the same guy, and they looked like a nice happy family, another girl got engaged to a new guy after dating only 3 weeks, and another girl whose mother let her new bf move in, even though they met online, and had only been dating a month.
@@lang-ed3bk i thought 16 & pregnant didn't glamourise it much but they went on to with 'teen mom' and making some of them celebs/rich. i don't think those eps of underage and pregnant glamourised it though. the girl who got engaged after 3 weeks of dating, i actually felt sorry for and didn't find it glamourous. it was like she was settling for just being a mum/wife because someone actually wanted her.
I really admire some of the girls on this show! Obviously not for being a teen Mom, but once the deed is done, they own up to it, and really take on a very mature role as a mom! I'm getting married soon, and motherhood makes me nervous. Lol but I'm hoping it'll come as naturally as it did for some of them.
Her mother should teach the kids to at least respect others homes this girl is extremely wise and independent I have big respect for her she was so young I'd love to know how she's doing now
Here is mom's example single mom, 6 kids showing her daughter this life style it is hard enough, but I think more girl follow in their parents way of life. Same here, in the USA 🇺🇸
Congratulations Naomi you should be super proud of yourself it’s so nice that you have taken on responsibility with an adult response. Spend the time with Leo while he is little then you can go back to school later and have some time for yourself. Best of luck xx
I can relate to Naomi alot. I grew up in a chaotic, scruffy, unorganised household. I always swore I'd have a nice home for my kids and I do. I have everything in it's place and I spend most of my money on my kids. They both have wonderful bedrooms and nice clothes. Always have what they need. They're my priority. The effects of not having the best environment as a child lasts forever, I know I hate a mess and I can't relax around clutter. I call it 'visual noise'. Naomis mum obviously finds it hard to see he daughter being a more devoted mum and keep a nicer home. That's her problem though.
My niece lived on her own with her little boy .not only with her baby but she worked and finished high school and graduated..I didn't know if I had I would have taken her in..I didn't know know till years later .
It seems quite sad , that at only sixteen she’s already tied down!! I was still jumping on my trampoline, riding my bike , doing gymnastics and having fun at that age. Childhood goes by far too quickly, and one should enjoy it as much as possible.
Oldest of 15 kids,I have two sons, one when I was 14, I had already left home, stayed with his father for six years, then met my soulmate, and at 28 welcomed my second, and only son, there was no way I was having that many kids, living on the dole, essentially being a baby machine, I have to admit it was easier being a teen mom, I had more patience then, when I was 28, I couldn’t wait to go back to work, but we all have a very strong bond/connection, I have three grandkids from my oldest, my 22-year-old, I don’t know, he admits he probably won’t have kids, and I praise him for whatever decision he makes, not like her mum who is clearly not the greatest of role models, and she does have a great head on her shoulders, and I hope to this day she is still living her best life✌🏻💕

How do all these British 16 year olds have their own house?! Is it a Council house or something? That the Government pays for & stuff?
Yep! This was filmed around 8 years ago though, don't know if it's so generous now
It took my daughter 14 years to get a counil flat & that was when she got married she has been working since 17 paying her way its not right that people are just given them
@@chloejane3387 They are just as generous now, it just depends where you live. This girl lives in the North and there is a lot of space and a lot of houses there, so it’s not surprising she has been given such a nice house...
Yes its basically public housing. Government funded.
@@nurtenkocaman1699 oh shut up. If you dont want to contribute to society buy and move onto a private island. Oh thats right, you cant AFFORD to and need to have your existence subsidized by others who pay taxes so you could attend free school, drive on developed roads, have public safety, etc. Sthu
Naomi has her shit together, good for her it seems she's giving Leo a good start to life. Seeing friends is still important for mental health though, even if it was once a week.
Jennie Lin it sucks youl probably regrets it later
She's cleaner and more responsible then her own mother. I hope she finds a good partner and a happy future 🌷
Your child is only 16. She is already a teen mum. If you are going to babysit help her get to college.
How did she turn out so awesome!!
There are as many that learn from their parents' mistakes, as there are that continue the cycle.
That's her problem though.
life goes on, i hope they are both doing well and i hope all the kids are happy and healthy!
My niece lived on her own with her little boy .not only with her baby but she worked and finished high school and graduated..I didn't know if I had I would have taken her in..I didn't know know till years later .
I really don't like that mother
Watching teen moms always reminds me to stay in a child's place. This is what happens when children think they grown smh.
Naomi is AMAZING & full RESPECT to her!!
Dont leave your kid with that person !!!!! Shes an addict
It’s hard to imagine why the mum would be ‘totally shocked’.
Okay... the baby snoring is *THE CUTEST THING EVER* !!!
This girl, young woman is absolutely wonderful and I am sure she will do well in life.
girl stay focus dont listen to ur mom shes unorganized😒
she is young and a really good mother ,but her mother claire is so terrible! She must stay away from her. Is Claire on Drugs?
It seems quite sad , that at only sixteen she’s already tied down!! I was still jumping on my trampoline, riding my bike , doing gymnastics and having fun at that age. Childhood goes by far too quickly, and one should enjoy it as much as possible.
She’s doing a better job than a lot of older mums,I like her mum she’s just a bit dippy but aren’t we all at times
Oldest of 15 kids,I have two sons, one when I was 14, I had already left home, stayed with his father for six years, then met my soulmate, and at 28 welcomed my second, and only son, there was no way I was having that many kids, living on the dole, essentially being a baby machine, I have to admit it was easier being a teen mom, I had more patience then, when I was 28, I couldn’t wait to go back to work, but we all have a very strong bond/connection, I have three grandkids from my oldest, my 22-year-old, I don’t know, he admits he probably won’t have kids, and I praise him for whatever decision he makes, not like her mum who is clearly not the greatest of role models, and she does have a great head on her shoulders, and I hope to this day she is still living her best life✌🏻💕
Leo is so beautiful!👶
Poor girl was clearly parentified and the mom is crying she lost her helper
Wow Mom on 6th kid & single 🙄🙄🙄🙄 Great Roll Model
Definitely not OCD.........you just want a clean house. Your family should respect you and your home.
She's a great mom.
Realising 15 minutes in that this episode is set in my home town 😯
