Lower league management is really tough and I love it. Over 2 saves and 3 seasons I have been fired 3 times!!!. I can't remember when I was fired last, possibly FM16. This is a proper challenge.
You've missed out LORENZO LUCCA again. I've got a feeling you've never used him before. He's the most OP striker in the game! Perfectionist personality, he's big 6ft 7, he's strong, Strength is 16, jumping reach is 17. He's super calm with 16 composure! 18 determination! Great player to have and a fantastic mentor for the younger players! He's cheap as he plays for Pisa in the Serie B in Italy. You can even get him on a free in the second season! Do a video on him Jake you won't be disappointed. 👍
Thank you for this advice, just started playing FM24 on my Xbox and it's my first go at it since FM16 so I'm out of the loop. I've started well with Darlington in the NLN but I didn't know some of these tips so I'll definitely give them a go cheers.
And after deadline day is the time to get those free signings who thought they were too good for you but no one came in for them. Picked up Tommy Doyle for Wrexham in the Championship that way in fm23, started for me until I replaced him with Declan Rice in my 3rd prem season.
Also, I always add the 'Last Club' field to the player search screen.........filter that field alphabetically then scroll down offering anyone who is out of contract & was at PL club a trial. Then do the same with Championship clubs etc etc
This FM is so good I was chesterfield promoted then to league 2 won the playoffs into league 1 and then got 20 points the whole league 1 season and got fires
Hopefully these tips will work down in the Isthmian League North too. I've spent two seasons trying and failing to get out of there. Lost in the playoff final last season, lost in the semi final this season after finishing 5th. I actually played a short passing game, and it was going well, but it seems you can never avoid that spell of 5 or 6 games when you can't win, whatever you do. I hope this hasn't been built into the game when you find a tactic that works and go 10 games unbeaten, only for the game to go 'that's enough of that'.
Downloaded a lower league English database to FM23, and carried the save over to 24. Goes down to 11th tier I think. You can't download a lower league database into FM24 until someone makes one, and they are waiting for today I guess, when the final version is released. But you can carry one over from FM23

Currently playing with Braintree Town. I only picked them because of their completely bonkers name. Currently top of the Vanarama South, leading 2nd place Yeovil by 12 points with about 12 games left to pay. Just got knocked out of the FA Cup third round by Birmingham. An away 1 - 0 loss which you gotta be proud of. The problem is that we are insanely broke. We're so broke in fact that loaning is my only option. I don't have the wages budget to pick up players on free. Hard times indeed, but we're top of the league! Anyways, the point I was going to make is that we are playing the very same tactic I played with a Manchester United save a few weeks ago. Super fancy tiki taka style. Hilarious!
How can I get a lower league club in a better financial state? I am playing in the first amateur division and I got a -170K transfer budget. I sold a player for 150K and some others for less and got the budget to around 10K just to get a new transferbudget of -171K again next season. The costs are higher than the incomes, how do I influence them?
I think it's fine to play a nice passing style in the lower leagues, you just have to slow the pace down, gives players time to find the right pass, let the probe for an opening. Although we might not be great, at a slower pace we can give ourselves a chance to find that probing ball, Bare in mind opponents will be making defensive mistakes, so you don't have to be that good at it.
Yes I noticed this. And their strikers are absolutely awful too. My 2 centre backs are only 2 stars in their position and the amount of times the opposition blazed the ball into row z is uncanny. Currently sitting top of the Vanarama South, 12 points clear with Braintree Town lol
Have you actually played a season with these tips, or is just what SHOULD happen? By keep it simple, do you just have midfielders as CMs, with no instructions and no fancy roles? Wingers are wingers, CDs are CDs etc.....no instructions......?
I always start unemployed, never got sacked so far. Yet the first half season I play is very close. Since they're at a tight spot and if I get relegated I am sacked because I am on the lowet league 🤣
I've got one question, because everyone says, "Non-League" but what if I wanna play on Japan? Or in Spain? Is any league there considered "NonLeague"? Or just is refering to those underdog games in general?
He didn't say can't. He said you shouldn't if you want the best and fastest results. Surely a crafted specific to your team tactic would be better. But a comment is a comment i guess...
@@Vogurt the point is, it’s no reason you shouldn’t try because you can in the game without any real ramifications. In theory? Sure sounds good. But it doesn’t matter in FM…If we are being real, you’re probably short changing yourself you if aren’t doing something like Gegenpress.
Some do, some don’t. Helps if you can get an affiliate club, they’ll usually charge less or nothing. Otherwise, shop around, you can find some cheap ones. Teams lower their requirements on deadline day too, both in terms of money but also in terms of how good a team they want the player to go to. So always check back on deadline day

you only need to trial a player for 2 weeks to see all attributes. max 30 players on trial at one time

Deadline day is the best way to get free loans, even for players who may not have wanted to join your club earlier in the window.

Actually in the lower league buying players isn't always a bad idea..They often have better hidden attributes and mental states...In my experience

Check and see because I'm unsure but nonleague are semipro teams and I think in Spain there are some in lower divisions
