That is an amphibious landing drill on Onslow Beach Camp Lejeune NC. Army has Amphibious Labding training as well. Sappers / Pontineers still train to do it.

heyyyy, fellow asthmatic here. I'm in the Australian army reserves, since my asthma wasn't too severe. Basically, just go to your recruiter, tell them about it, and they might tell you to get you a medical check from your doctor or a doctor on site. Basically, for me, that check included doing some basic endurance tests and clinical tests. They'll tell you if you meet the standard required, and if not (like I didn't at first) they'll often recommend you try work on it yourself before enlisting. If your asthma is light, asthma ain't actually gonna be that debilitating. What I'd recommend is that you start going on daily jogs, and gradually try increase the distance, or gradually increase reps for things like push ups and the like. Your asthma will improve if you train on it, so just start slow and work your way up to a level that allows you to do like a 5 mile run or the like.
@@Benwut thank you fellow asthmatic person! I go on daily 1.5km runs so I’ll try and up the distance gradually so I get more used to it. When I first started running every day, my lungs hated it and I nearly had asthma attacks but now as it do it more often and regularly, I find that I get used to it and it gets better so I think that’s an improvement. My aim is to become a fighter pilot in the royal air force or navy if I can so that’s why I was asking incase I couldn’t. Thank you for the advice though and thank you for your service!

@@samakers9225 Oh, and I should note, you are allowed to have an inhaler during your basic, and (depending on your DI/DS/RDC) you might be able to do puffs during a run, but you cannot stop. I'd recommend getting a preventer inhaler if I were you, since that will give you that relief before your training each day.
