The sensor emits a signal that bounces off solid objects. The time it takes to bounce and return, gives the computer a calculated distance to the object.
It was my bad explaining myself bud, the bit that I was unsure of is further than 107cmish from an object or a problem with the sensor it shows 255cm so a reckon it only start measuring the distance properly and beeping I guess when it gets to about a meter 👍
