    ‪@EasyCADSolutions‬
    It is a complex honeycomb pattern distributed evenly over the spherical surface and it is a bit tricky to make in Solidworks. So, watch the whole video to know the whole concept.
    Main Commands:
    -Loft Boss

    Very well done sir. This helped me a lot. I would not have figured this out by myself. At least not for a month. Thank you.

    How would one "fill in" this sphere after completion? So, that its not hollow.

    • @EasyCADSolutions
      @EasyCADSolutions  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't use surface cut command to cut inside portion and then perform split with all the curved surfaces and then follow the same and after making the pattern entity combine then together with the inside portions

      @@EasyCADSolutions After revisiting the model I've noticed some imperfections. In your file, they are also present. It becomes noticeable after step called "CirPattern3". Pictures attached(it was made from your file I just removed matter chrome appearance for demonstration).

    One thing you could do is make an icosahedron and put a plane on one of the surfaces of the icosahedron. Sketch on that plane, a hexagonal tessellation, then project the vertices onto a sphere. Connect the vertices and then fill the surfaces, pattern using icosahedral symmetry. I'll probably make a video of how to do it.

    Necesito hacer un domo con estructura metálica y los hexágonos que no sean con radio ya que podria hacerlos, tiene que ir en plano tangentes al radio del domo,
    El radio de es 2,5 metros y de base 5 metros

    To have a golf ball with honeycomb shape, should i just use hexagon on sphere??

    • @EasyCADSolutions
      @EasyCADSolutions  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need atleast two different shapes to create a uniform pattern on sphere or you can use hexagons but unfortunately it needs irregular hexagons of different sizes to cover the hole sphere, So practically it is possible but in Solidworks it's a very tough job

    • @mechanicaldesignengineers
      @mechanicaldesignengineers 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EasyCADSolutions so , means we can not create equally distributed and equal in size hexagon on spherical shape ? This is impossible shape ? or just impossible in solidworks?

    • @nicolasleonnarino3159
      @nicolasleonnarino3159 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mechanicaldesignengineers You could try to model it on Blender, is not a CAD software but you can export the model to Solidworks and then draw over it.

    • @sodahead0
      @sodahead0 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mechanicaldesignengineers A symmetrical tessellation of a sphere always has 12 regular Pentagon's and a minimum of 20 regular hexagons.

    Hi, thank you for making this tutorial. I learned a lot. I run a channel on Fusion 360. Would you mind if I replicate this design using Fusion 360 for my channel? I will certainly credit you in my video. If you are not keen on this, I would understand. Please let me know.

      @@EasyCADSolutions Hi, appreciate your generosity. I will definitely link to your video. I have tried this a few times in Fusion 360, carefully following each step. However, the split at 9:33 does not split the body symmetrically. This caused weird corners during patterning. Looking at the center hexagon, it does not seem to be symmetrical at the start. Not sure what I did wrong.

    if i want to make a model of another radius , how can i find the size of the hexagon . I mean how can i find the relation between the size of the hexagon and the radius of the model ? anyone help me please

    • @EasyCADSolutions
      @EasyCADSolutions  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can decide the radius and accordingly you will get the size of hexagon

    Not good. The shape of the cell is cell is highly coupled to the shape of the object. It would be better to create a process that makes hexagons on an arbitrary surface and build from that. Not sure if it can be done in SW though. I can do it in Houdini with a few nodes.

    • @EasyCADSolutions
      @EasyCADSolutions  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      But I have given the idea to do it on a spherical surface.. Because it is a bit tricky to make such kind of patterns on sphere in Solidworks
