It is hilarious how much they nerfed him. When the legion kidnapped tyrande at the end of the 2nd book of the war of the ancients. His emotions alone cause a sort of mud flood that nearly swallowed the entire legion army along with night elf’s. That’s while he was being flown away from the battle as well.
It is so lame, yo, people are now talking about how weak he is...it's so sad, in my opinion. But then again, he was beaten by Shade of Xavius as well, so maybe the nerfing began before even this expansion.
He was actually winning against Sylvanas until Saurfang stepped in. I am indeed late just relistening to lore

And now we know that Sylvanas was empowered by the jailer so that shows how powerful he actually is. Nobody else could kill her, not even Saurfang or the lich king. Pisses me off when people say that illidan is stronger than him when during wc3 he could have crushed him with those roots instantly
Malfurion in Darkshore felt nerfed as hell. I understand that the Horde cannot lose a massive amount of soldiers in darkshore or they'd be fucked later down the expansion... but that's realistically what would have happened, plot shouldn't change that. Besides, it would make defeating him actually feel earned, or at the very least they could feel good for how far they managed to get. (It's not just Malfurion, all of Night Elven lore was kinda nerfed for War of Thorns)
In the BFA alliance book hints he did not want to kill her. No one imagined her true objective: starting a war that can not be stopped until one side is destroyed. Also he could stop the horde army by destroying the entire black coast, but the forrest was too important. Saurfang and Silvanus knew that the forrest was important to them and used it many times.
The night elf army also was not at dark shore. Sylvanas launched her attack when the night elves were on route to attack silithus. The only elves left were just militia troops and a skeleton garrison.
It's not even the night elf lore that was nerfed. It's the horde/forsaken lore that was hit.
A really crappy way of telling a conflict what it was. If you imagine instead of the "I can do things because I have plotonium charges" some threat that can truly do what had transpired, but leave the night elven part in, it's still good.
Not anymore, but at the start of BFA it would have checked out.
Let's not talk about Shadowlands.
Not powerful enough to even damage Sylvanas plot armor, which also makes her enemies dumber, and is able to make her allies loyal to her, even if she gasses them. Anyway, great video as usual! Nice work!

For anyone saying Malfurion is weak because Saurfang injured him, you have to remember this: he snuck up on Mal while he was distracted by Slyvannas. That's like saying Ronny Markes, a superweight heavy MMA champ, is a wimp if you snuck up on him and shanked him in the throat or shot him in the back. Saurfang even admitted himself this was dishonorable and had lost horribly in an earlier confrontation with Malfurion.
The only reason Blizz did that was "story reasons," since if Mal had killed Slyvannas, BFA would never have happened.

Everything in warcraft lore is 10.000 years, malfurion hibernated 10.000 years, this war was 10.000 years ago, 10.000 years everywhere.
You should do a how powerful with Saurfang, his story is vast and deep and whilst arguably not one of the strongest characters in Azeroth, is still pretty strong.

True, but Night Elves society is traditionally matrierchal. But due to WoW being a thing they changed that quite a bit, so the night elves are more equal between each other and also they aren't strictly nocturnal anymore either. But I'm okey with their traditional society too.

Even from an objective Standpoint. Its hard to not call bullshit on blizzard and the events at Teldrassill. Clearly Malfurion was far beyond Sylvanas and saurfang and the entire army there. Yet somehow gets one shot after hes already shown, written, and proven he has astral power and nature power strong enough to battle even the strongest of demons and old god champions.
The poor writing from blizzard to nerf him was just sad

You forgot to mention that he is solely responsible for the corruption and inevitable death of the dragon aspect Ysera. That is totally his fault. we should have left his feathered butt on Argus and brought Illidan back with us
Yeah because the writers wanted Ysera dead: Lore Malfurion until Val'sharah, except for the volatile young emotional one he grew out of after it moved past his youth, is portrayed as cunning and wise, being pissed off just makes him more decisive and hard hitting. Lorefurion wouldn't have fallen for Xavius's trap because he knows all of Xavius's tricks, he fell for it because plot demanded it.

And I'm going to say it's malfurion's fault because if the writers were just mainly looking for a scapegoat they could have put any weird little guy in there to go run around and acting like an idiot. The fact that they chose the weaker Stormrage brother has to say something to his character. Illidan has always filled a key role in the storyline since he debuted. And I'm only stating this simple fact because have you noticed that now Tyrande is acting just like Illidan? Look at the cinematic after we take out Nathanos. That is exactly what Illidan would have done. And he would have been called a monster by his brother for doing it, yet when it's his girlfriend murdering people, yes I know the guy was technically undead, but it's perfectly okay for her to do it... Malfurion is weak-willed and a hypocrite, we should have left his ass on Argus...

He's done more than collapse buidlings on people. He literally 1vX'd thousands of demons at once when he feels like it.
Saurfang wasnt even a legitimate threat to him. The only reason he got stabbed from behind was for Plot reasons. Blizzard wrote a plot hole lmao

Uhh wrong lmao. Garrosh and his orc army that initially invaded Kalimdor were killed by the thousands by Cenarius, Garrosh ran before he was killed
He then Gathered thousands more orcs, had all of them Drink Demon Blood, allowed Themselves to be gifted more powers by the demons, and took his thousands of demon/fel powered orcs to kill cenarius.

People question Malfurions impulsiveness in Legion and BFA, but he's always been quick to act without regard to the consequences. The Well of Eternity, nordrassil, rushing Xavius, and trying to take on Sylvanas solo. Perhaps the old druid needs some patience?

Well, there are a few contenders. Thrall is ridicolously well attuned to Azeroth's elemental forces by now or Tyrande wield tremendous amount of power throught Elune.
@@Limrasson People should stop repeating the Thrall part, its false. He only went to that level of power temporary while he was boosted by the Dragons. He lost that power forever, he is a simply powerful shaman now. Malfurion is always at his full potential.
Plus Thrall is really weak atm since the elements aren't happy with him atm. He was really really weak in legion.

Actually Illidan and Malfurion are both equally powerful as we have seen first hand with Illidan in legion.
Andrew B Not really. Illidan’s a great fighter and spellcaster (in the 2016 novel), like one of the best on Azeroth. But the sheer power Malfurion has from Druidism isn’t really matchable.
Tell that to him who tour the veil of reality with a keystone to connect two plants and stud behind to serve as the Dark Titans jailer and orchestrated the Burning Legions down fall.
@@OakenTome It's really down to where they fight. If they fought in Ashenvale full of trees, wildlife and nature, Malfurion would certainly have the advantage. If however they fought in the Burning Steppes, a lifeless wasteland then the advantage would go to Illidan.

0786RICARDO Not true. Illidan’s goal has always been to hunt and destroy the Legion. Illidan even found a way to Argus in the 2016 novel. Malfurion tends to the Cenarion Circle and the Emerald Dream.

GoT is so popular because it has characters with very compelling characters. Most of them fall morally into a grey zone. So some consider them good and some bad. Or even a mixture of both. And you can say the same goes for WoW. You have strong characters die all the time just like in GoT. Good, bad or something in between (such as Varian Wrynn, Medivh, Arthas, Vol'jin etc...) And also the good/bad aspect is always relative, as it depends on the side you're in. Tou've got character like Sylvanas Windrunners that are loved by some but deeply hated by others...
