Only downside i saw using this is the nodes or pen tool. Compare to illlustrator its quick to use pentool. U can adjust the cusp while doing your tracing and not canceling it. In corel its slow. U trace it and then do the refining afterwards
I agree with you. You still can click and drag when using certain tools to adjust the nodes as you're tracing in Corel, but I don't like it too much...
Hi, great tutorial. Could you explain how gravity snapping works. For example I assumed that if I held N while using the shape tool, it would only snap to Node. Doesn't seem to work as I expected. Am I doing something wrong?

Hi Allen.. I am not an artist but need to create a logo with text for our local church league softball team. I can’t bring myself to pay $500 for Coreldraw and can’t seem to bring myself to subscribe to Photoshop and could use some help. Do you know of an alternative software that would be more reasonable or logical to my needs?

Also, if you are doing logo creation, use Corel draw or Adobe illustrator, not photoshop.

@@stevenhower1228 Yes. Have you ever considered hiring a freelancer to design you something so you don’t have to purchase software and learn it? (Unless you want to start this as a hobby or will be designing more things in the future). I’ll gladly design you a logo for $50. I have 1 day turnaround and I do tons of softball and baseball designs.
Can CorelDRAW Essentials 2021 open corel draw 2019 cdr files for example?
Yes. But a 2019 cannot open a 2021. You will need to save the 2021 version to a lower version if you plan on using it on older software.

One thing I hate about coreldraw is that you can't select one of the shape tools and click punch in the dimensions of a shape and the shape is created lik Ai. You have to click and drag. So if the shape is not exact you have to go back and realize it again unlike Ai. More annoying is that the shape after realize will not have 100% scale very annoying 🙄
