    In the script, I call the developer Team Ninja instead of the much more correct NINJA THEORY
    I apologize to any theoretical ninjas harmed by this oversight

    I loved this game and the sound design for the voices specifically was some of the coolest stuff I've ever heard. Your descriptions of this game hit the nail on the head and now I'm thinking I may have to go back and play it again!

    This game is among my favourite experiences in modern media. Play it with a quality headset, turn off the lights and immerse yourself in a truly harrowing ride. The ending is also one of just a few moments in any game that made me cry. It's oddly beautiful.

    I could hardly handle this review it felt so intense...it looks incredible...and like a game I'll have to watch someone else play, heh.

    I'm probably one of the few people who bought the game on release and i was excited to dive into it. Unfortunately it got a little too intense for me to handle and I couldn't end up finishing it. I do recommend people to check it out but it can be an overwhelming experience.

    Great video, more serious than the others which fits the game well, loved it.

    I absolutely love scary games!!! I mean.... I don't like actually PLAYING scary games as I am the wussiest wuss that ever did wuss, but I love WATCHING other people subject themselves to the horror of playing them ;) Even just listening to the voices in your review through my headphones sent chills down my spine, so good on you for going so deep into this game. I also appreciate seeing some backstory from the actual game developers as it really brings another level to the actual review of the game and how we are meant to experience it, so big thank you for adding that in here.

    This game was a mixed bag for me. I was very excited about it, followed the devs diary during development and anxiously waited for a sale on the ps store in order to play it. When I finally got to play it, I felt really underwhelmed. The atmosphere is great, the sound design is amazing, the art direction pretty good. The exploration, however, was held back by puzzles that in 90% of the cases are just one-trick-ponies: find a locked door, look around for signs. But what really turned me off was the combat: with the camera being so close to Senua, and the number of enemies thrown at you, it all devolved into a chore. Reposition so that as many enemies as possibile are in front of you, parry, spam the correct attack. As I kept playing I got less and less excited about it, and the fact the stakes kept getting lower with every uncovered "secret" didn't help. By the time the credits rolled, I was just glad it was over.

      I think I benefitted a lot from going in blind. Also, if I was just reviewing gameplay, this would be a "maybe" for me.
      But as a whole experience, I was really into it

    I remember hearing about this game around its release, but never recognized it after that. I think its vague title does it a disservice - it sounds like it's probably a generic hack and slash instead.

    • @gashansunu2995

      I remember the early trailers definitely marketed it as similar to Ninja Theory's previous work instead of what it actually was.

    Senua’s Sacrifice is the best game I’ll never play again. It’s likely at the bottom of my top ten games of all time, but I don’t think I’d ever subject myself to it ever again. Xbox can have the sequel. 😹

      The whole time I was like "How can something I like so much make me feel so bad!?"

  • @Anachletus
    @Anachletus ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I can't help but feel that this game is very tonally different from any of the earlier reviews. Not a bad thing, just an observation. True horror does not need jump scares, and this game perfectly embodies it.
    Is it weird that I'm slightly more uncomfortably by the fact that I have a literal viking grave 10-15 minutes walkign distance from my home now? I mean, I am someone who has been entrusted with children in the past, and at least so far nobody has expressed any regret about it.

    • @RandomGameReviews
      @RandomGameReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, this review was a departure for sure
      But bending the video to best serve the subject is part of what makes this so fun for me to do!
      Let's take children on a field trip to the viking graveyard!!

    What a mind funk! I think this is the kind of game that I love the idea of, but probably wouldn't enjoy playing. Did this game market horribly or something? I'm surprised I never heard of it.
