My '99 C230K Sport is officially a "classic" now being 25 years old. Just turned 269K miles and it runs like a champ, has an amazing turning radius (not often mentioned). Can track happily at 80 mph turning 3000 rpm all day long. I upgraded to AMG monoblocks and beefy Continental tires and the handling is great. I recently test drove a W202 C43 AMG and it's awesome but I can't justify the $15K upgrade, so I'll stick with my sporty, economical sleeper.

powerful, reliable, comfortable - nice cars maybe the best if you didnt care about the best handling in its class. motorweek say it got more vibration and noise compared to the sixes, but from my experience (my dad owned a 4 cyl DIESEL model with 200k+ kilometres.its noise and and vibration was very low on the inside. outstandingly so by european standards of the time. and that after all these KMs the car was 20 years old by that point. sounded like a tractor on the outside though haha

I hardly see these around anymore. I remember these being well built but very snug and cramped compared to the E-Class. I would’ve spent the extra money and just for the E-Class. However, this was still a good vehicle and built at a time, when Mercedes-Benz made good quality vehicles.

I agree on them being good cars. We still have ours, a 99 with 348k miles and the only real problem we’ve had was the water pump and alternator. But it has been a very reliable car.

actually seating wise the c class didnt seem that different to the e class to me. and the trunk was quite big!

They've mostly rusted out. The 90's was the worst era for rusty Mercedes-Benz cars.

great I have a 2000 C230 Kompressor and it's been very reliable with normal maintenance upkeep . it's at 130000 miles as of now and I have had it 5 years . I have put 30000miles on it and it drives fantastic and runs like new and the interior has held up fantastic. being mine is the 2000 model year it actually has 192 HP a slight increase than the first year released with the supercharger.

I always thought it was silly that Mercedes spelled compressor with a K. This isn’t Germany.

I would have preferred "S" for Supercharged, because that's what "Kompressor" means - would've looked good on my '99 C230K Sport - C230S.
