Correction:- The debt-to-equity ratio (D/E ratio) is a financial metric that compares a company’s total debt to its total equity. It is calculated by dividing a company’s total liabilities (including both short-term and long-term debt) by its total shareholder equity.
It's shown in our 5 th sem management accounting book and also I have googled it for rechecking.
I had the similar doubt and I also read that in our management accounting book. So should we go according to book now?
@@snehabansal6794 no I have clarified there r two types of debt equity ratio
One is where total liabilities are divided by shareholder equity
Another is where only long term liabilities are divided by shareholder equity
@@anjalbarman4351 Yes, that's what is mentioned in the book. So if the question comes, we have to calculate by both methods, right?

Here is some confusion , you told that there is
total assets to debt ratio but in our course and syllabus we studied total debt to total assets ratio.
Also in first portion we have been taught and in our book there is
total debt (including current liabilities):equity but you said that excluding current liabilities.
Please help us to get rid of this confusion.
