1) it could be badly set up there should be an adjustment screw 2) disc bradkes need bedding in, in other words the pads and the discs need to wear into each other
This bike is Cheap and dangerous, my front wheel bairings, bolts and lock came loose twice in 2 months of ownership. The 2nd time they came loose while going down hill and wheel came off throwing me 5yards. I spent a day in the hospital, two broke hands, facial road rash that need plastic surgery. Pedal broke after 2wks.....out of work 2 wks so far....invest elsewhere

Just got this bike for my nephew & the front disk brake seems to be rubbing or grinding- making a funny sound. Any ideas how to fix this?
