  • Watch our Letters Live from the Archive film in celebration of International Women's Day, featuring Olivia Colman, Rose McGowan, Daisy Ridley, Gillian Anderson, Ncuti Gatwa, Jordan Stephens and many more phenomenal performers.
Every year International Women’s Day on March 8th provides an opportunity to shine a light on the continuing global fight for gender equality, whilst also celebrating the innumerable achievements of this vast, marginalised percentage of the population.
In the years since Letters Live began, talented performers have been breathing life into countless pieces of correspondence by women, to women, about women - letters overflowing with wisdom, fury, love, and humour. These are some of our favourites, featuring Olivia Colman, Gillian Anderson, Daisy Ridley, Adwoa Aboah, Caitlin Moran, Jordan Stephens and many more incredible performers.
Letters Live have produced 3 shows on International Women’s Day over the years. In fact, the last Letters Live production shortly before the pandemic hit took place on March 8th, 2020 to close the 10th anniversary of the Women of the World Festival at the Southbank Centre, London.
This video is available for free but, if you can, please consider making a donation to our nominated charity for this release - The Women of the World Foundation.
The WOW Foundation was created by Jude Kelly CBE in 2018 to run the global movement that is WOW - Women of the World Festivals. The Festivals began in the UK in 2010 to celebrate women and girls, taking a frank look at what prevents them from achieving their potential, raising awareness globally of the issues they face, and discussing solutions together. It is the biggest, most comprehensive and most significant festival dedicated to presenting work by women and promoting equality for women and girls.
To date, WOW has reached over 2 million people in 17 countries on six continents, providing a platform for people of all kinds, to change attitudes, bring communities together and provide a unique space for people to work together towards gender equality in their own communities.
If you enjoy this video, please do donate whatever you can. Your generosity will help further the work of The WOW Foundation ensuring gender equality garners the spotlight it requires.
