  • Our 2015 Teenager of Courage Sohanna Collins has a rare condition that makes her skin so fragile that even her parents cannot hug her. This doesn't hold her back from helping others though, and she is the inspiration behind a £3.5m fundraiser.
Sohanna lives with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (EB) which means that she lacks the protein that holds her skin together. It affects her entire body - even in her mouth, throat and eyes.
Life is a daily struggle and sadly she is in constant pain with even the slightest knock, bump or scratch causing blisters and painful third degree burns.
Despite this, Sohana, who lives in North London with her mum, dad and her three younger sisters, inspires everyone with her attitude and her courage is the inspiration behind the Sohana Research Fund.
Since 2011, more than £3.5million has been raised to help find a cure for EB, through dinners, galas and the Tongue Twister Challenge, which saw stars such as Damian Lewis, Tom Hiddleston and Benedict Cumberbatch take part in a social media campaign.
The cash helped fund a treatment trial, in which 10 children received bone marrow cells and gene therapy trials followed later that year.
Watch the moment where she accepts her award (and a Firebolt 3000 broom!) on stage from Harry Potter star Rupert Grint (who struggles with her tongue twister!) alongside David Beckham and a fabulous tongue twister surprise from One Direction!
