Rule 3.9 FAULT SERVES The following serves are faults. In one -serve play, infractions result in an out [See exceptions in Rule 5.3]. In other divisions, any two in succession result in an out: (a) Foot Faults. A foot fault results when: 1. The server does not begin the service motion with both feet in the service zone. 2. The server steps completely over the service line (no part of the foot on or inside the service zone) before the served ball crosses the short line.
No wonder I get called for foot faults in tournaments, so many people don't know the rule. His foot is on the line, if any part of his foot is touching the line, it is not a foot fault.
There you go! I already looked up the rules yesterday on the IRF website. So now its posted and as u can see it says your foot must be COMPLETELY over the line! And since Kanes heel was still on the line theres no foot fault!
if any part of his shoe is still touching the line it is a legal serve. even if his entire foot except for the very tip of his heel is past the line, as long as his heel is touching the line its a good serve
Kane's laugh was kinda gay but Kane is a Pimp! That man is like a god on the court Watch Matches form 04 or 08 and ull see his power Skill and Domination over all the over Pros.
Grats u Doesn't mean anything though, I could go to the Superbowl, but I don't know anything about football... And you realize its not just a pro event, so any person who feels like going can do so. Great Argument Chief.....
Fair enough, IRF does run US Open, and if the rule is the same with USRA, then you're right. So the foot needs to be only half way over the line according to these rules. Although, I do know, that the foot fault rule wasn't heavily enforced back then, but now refs are cracking down on it =/. Little fun fact I guess hehe
I know he was referred to as "the greatest [racquetball] player in the world" at the time of this video, but c'mon... giving attitude to the referee is just childish. Any other sport you would get thrown out of the game or penalized in some way. Bad calls happen, it part of spectator sports. Bitching isn't going to change that... it just makes you look like an ass when you do.
I am a referee (basketball and volleyball) yes it was childish and kinda funny but ur way wrong about this being grounds for any kind of rule violation or technical. this was very tame trust me players, parents or fans can be way more harsh to referees. as long as not curse words are said or verbal threats are made its a play on situation.
Lorenzo Valdez as a Collegiate football and basketball official myself with a career spanning over 20 years I can tell you that people heckling you from the bench coaches players are otherwise especially in interscholastic sports do not get a play on when they are disrespectful if they look at you the wrong way and flip you off or just give you the hand wave or I remember a coach one time calling me Vanilla Ice and just nalum you whack them with a technical foul that's what it's there for in baseball for several seasons you don't take disrespect from participants with a play on and if someone's in the game you have them removed
No it's not. Part of his foot is on the line. The rule states that "at the end of the service motion the server steps with either foot beyond the service line (with no part of the foot on the line or inside the service zone before the served ball crosses the short line" 3.9 fault serves.
kane is like the john macenroe of racquetball

Okay it is not a foot fault! You foot must completely go over the line. Kane's heel is touching the line, therefore its not a foot fault!
No wonder I get called for foot faults in tournaments, so many people don't know the rule. His foot is on the line, if any part of his foot is touching the line, it is not a foot fault.
Ur point?
Ahh sorry, was supposed to be a question: The foot only needs to be halfway over the line for it to be a foot fault?
Are you kidding me, like seriously! His heel is touching the line! It did not go over AT ALL! Therefore no foot fault!
Was this before or after the Kurr Kaine days? LOL
There you go! I already looked up the rules yesterday on the IRF website. So now its posted and as u can see it says your foot must be COMPLETELY over the line! And since Kanes heel was still on the line theres no foot fault!
holy shit racquetball is insane
diving around n stuff :P
is there no line like in squash??
I have been playing for four year to! And I can tell its not a foot fault!
if any part of his shoe is still touching the line it is a legal serve. even if his entire foot except for the very tip of his heel is past the line, as long as his heel is touching the line its a good serve
it may have caught the line or been an inch or 2 over but it was nowhere close to the encroachment line as Kane said
where can i find all these matches? its hard to find some kane's matches on the web... by the way, obviously not a foot fault!
Kane's laugh was kinda gay but Kane is a Pimp! That man is like a god on the court Watch Matches form 04 or 08 and ull see his power Skill and Domination over all the over Pros.
Exactly. Almost. Which makes it not a foot fault. And the serve was good by about six inches. Not a VERY bad call. Just a mistake.
but the referee says short ball !
Grats u
Doesn't mean anything though, I could go to the Superbowl, but I don't know anything about football...

Great Argument Chief.....
I thought a foot fault has to be fully past the line
Fair enough, IRF does run US Open, and if the rule is the same with USRA, then you're right. So the foot needs to be only half way over the line according to these rules.
Although, I do know, that the foot fault rule wasn't heavily enforced back then, but now refs are cracking down on it =/. Little fun fact I guess hehe
Yeah you're right. No where near the encroachment line. It was a bad call though. btw, if the ball catches any part of the line it's short.
Mhm, but either way he should pause the video to check or listen to the majority of people telling him its not! lol
@cadaver256 that is not true when your foot is touching se serving line is not a foot fault only if he weren´t touching it
Look at :54, his heel is clearly on the line, not a foot fault. No idea what you're talking about.
thats canada
for more racquetball go to rballer.webs. com
I agree
LOL..I love it!
Nice acting job by Kane LOL! Almost impossible to see if this is short or good serve from the video so could see the call going either way.
Haha Kane had a little bit more meat on him back then

lol. nice.
he made a foot fault anyway
