A tip I saw a while ago is to use an old wagon with deep flanges to 'cut' the 'cement' whilst it's still not fully set. It means you don't have as much problems trying to get the cut the right depth and width, the flanges do it for you.
@@gamerdruid7605 Hi there. Thank you for you tip. I did run an old wagon over it, but I like a big gap. Thank you very much for your input much appreciated. Thank you for watching. ....Pete....
Nice one Pete, good idea to put it on a "concrete" base. I'd have never thought of using filler. I'm getting my "railway cabin" next month, so I'll be able to restart my layout soon. I can't remember what kit I have in the loft from when I dismantled my layout. Couldn't save any track, but I know I saved the points (as they're expensive!) and buildings. Hoping I have a train shed, pretty sure I do. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Graham. Wow your going for it nice one Graham. I've used the filler before but on a smaller area, don't think I would use it again for larger areas. Very messy indeed. Thanks for that - a great video. I'm in the process of building a TMD for my locos and was looking for ideas. Just a quick question, how did you clear the rails once the 'concrete' had set? Thanks again.
Hi Alfie. Thank you for your nice comment. Takes a bit of effort to clean it and make the gap for the wheel flanges. Sorry Alfie, forgot to say if you do it, cut the flanges before the filler gets hard, go along with the stripper blade just enough for the wheel flanges.
