Story 1: This woman obviously lacks the mental and emotional maturity to be a parent in general. I feel bad for the child having to watch his mother throw a literal tantrum like she herself is a child.
I hate those people with passion: expecting you to share all your food with them, but they wouldn’t share any with you BeCaUsE tHeY‘rE bRoKe. Dude, I am broke myself, stop being a parasite or share like you expect others to share! 😂
Yup. Apparently the childless should always sacrifice themselves at the altar of _other people's_ children. "bUt tHiNk aBoUt tHe cHilDrEn". OP has made a sensible choice to not have children yet, presumably because she wants to build a more stable life, income and savings first, but all that sensible planning apparently goes out the window because someone else decides to have children. Not a family member, relative or friend. Just some random person renting a room in the same house.
That sm is a choosing beggar at this point. The kid at least asks. Whats wrong with vegetables? It keeps you fuller longer, its good for you and for growing kids. i get that they get assistance from the gov but why cant she meal prep or budget at all. She can use coupons as well (like those extreme couponers you see).
Not 1 state is it illegal to extreme coupon!!! I just quit extreme couponing last year because the coupons literally suck now and you can only use 2 per pay of the same one . No laundry coupons anymore . It's ridiculous but she can do regular Kroger digital coupons and can use her food stamps to get stuff to last but she's TOO DARN Lazy to do that !!! She is an entitled twot and so will her son be @@samlam6486
What's wrong with vegetables? If she has allergies and still keeps stealing that's bad for her, that's her problem. You cant sue someone for what THEY eat. Tell her to go ahead and try
I go to my local food pantry as I am raising my grandchildren and food is ridiculously expensive. They often give me excesses of vegies. We got 3 bags if fresh Brussels sprouts. Now to be clear, I am NOT fond of them, but my husband is, so I made them, and each child got 1. They asked for more. I found I liked them well enough to eat them whenever we get them. The 6 year old gets excited for canned green beans. The 8 year old will eat whatever I put in front of him, but he doesn't like potato salad! Kids eat what they learn to eat, what their adults eat, and what is fun to eat. If mom won't cook for herself and her child, then this is purely on her. I was a single mom and yes, it was tough to pay all the bills and feed us both, but easy food is not the solution to a budget. So stop with the poor single mother crapola! We all make choices in our lives, and if she doesn't want to eat vegies or mushrooms, then she can cook the food she does like. Expecting handouts just because a person should help a single mom is very narcissistic. Where were they when I could only afford chicken noodle soup and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and skipped lunches? Just because a person appears or even is better off than a single mother, doesn't mean they are obliged to pay for her decisions. This just incenses me!
She has government support for food and if she chooses to spend it on expensive premade foods then that’s her issue. You learn to cope with life, it doesn’t cope with you.
I’m gonna be real, as someone that wasted time and money at culinary school. Cooking really isn’t hard. Some of it looks hard because certain things take time and are supposed to look a particular way, in a fine dining restaurant. If you end up living on your own you should teach yourself to cook and buy food cheaply asap, even if you can afford take out every single day for the rest of your life, you should absolutely learn to cook for yourself. I understand that food insecurity is hard, it sucks and it must feel awful not being able to feed your baby, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to take your roommates food without asking if it’s okay to do that. It’s also unreasonable to expect someone you’re rooming with to feed you and your child. They need to teach themselves to cook because fun fact you can cook as well as any chef out there from watching TH-cam videos and practice. Trust me I know, a chef in culinary school told my entire class that we wasted money by enrolling and the only real good it was gonna do was get us in kitchens with real chefs. But in reality you can achieve the same thing by being a dish washer and asking a chef if they can teach you how to work the line. Not all chefs will do this but they won’t ever say no to prep being done for them.
story 1.....the mom is an extremely entitled AH. on what planet did this woman believe it was ok to steal food from her room mate? and then have a tantrum over making taco meat? i would have put a mini fridge in my room and kept the door locked
It is no one else responsibility to teach another adult how to be an adult. Th commenter saying “I’m shocked you guys won’t help” absolutely will not be helping no. Ask and I might say yes. But stealing and throwing a fit when I won’t spend MY heard earned cash on a roommate and her kid??? Hahaha absolutely tf not. It’s hard enough making ends meet for one person. But three people living off an income meant for one person??? Laughable. the kid is not mine. The kid is not responsibility. The mom has no relation to them, anf we aren’t even friends. Why would I break my neck to save hers??? Roommate clearly doesn’t care that she would be severely impacting someone else’s financial situation because hers is worse. Her life and her choices are HERS. No one else’s.
Sounds like the EP in the 1st story wants op to be her child's 2nd parent. Meanwhile does she even work or is she just living off of government assistance? Because she'd be able to get a lot more money with a job than with what little the government gives you and most times having a child will still make you eligible despite working a PT job (though this is coming from someone in NY so it could be different in other places)
and what would she tell the authorities? "i live with a roomate and we eat all her food so now she is adding vegetables to everything so we wouldn't eat it because we hate vegetables!" police would laugh at her
Basically the mom is lazy and spends all her government money on prepared meals instead of cooking and the kid has become as picky as the mom, op started putting vegetables in her food when the mom had a tantrum and threatened to call authorities.

@@mannydcbiancothiiiiiiis. It’s not my fault you had a baby. Go look somewhere else if you want a second parent for the kid. it surely won’t be me

Actually a lot of states have made extreme couponing illegal but I do believe there’s still a few places that allow it

I’ve definitely seen cold prepackaged food at the Kroger near me that has a sticker on it saying it’s eligible for food stamps/ebt/whatever
Always one of my favorite lines "Ma'am. YOUR poor planning and managing does not constitute an emergency for me."

I love how despite the mother being a merk, when the kid has the manners to just ask for some OPs popcorn she just gives it to him.

Putting veggies like celery, carrot, capsicum (bell peppers) adds a sweet and sour depth to the dish
