    • @MrCaseySasaki
      @MrCaseySasaki 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      atreides213 Yeah, I saw it when it came out. And not to attract the Marvel vs DC retards but from what I've seen Marvel studios basically did what Warner Bros SHOULD have done with Batman V Superman:
      1) Taken their time introducing the key main characters in their own films before the big cluster-fuck showdown. Ant Man gets a movie before Wonder Woman? What the fuck?
      2) Had faith in the material their adapting to carry it's own weight instead of smashing two totally different stories together that would easily make their own good movies. *Both requiring HISTORY between the characters depicted and not a first ever meeting.*
      3) And most importantly, they made the fight ideological in nature. Which is far more interesting to watch, and a lot harder to write than "my mom got kidnapped, bro, and she has the same name as your mom."

    • @atreides213
      @atreides213 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Casey Sasaki My favorite part of the movie was SPOILERS AGAIN
      Cap and tony didn't make up at the end. They didn't arbitrarily resolve their ideological differences just because they were buddies. That's a lot more realistic and heart wrenching than the stupid mothers' names thing.

    • @MrCaseySasaki
      @MrCaseySasaki 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      atreides213 Yeah. The movie basically destroys the status quo established by the other Marvel films. But it started with an established status quo. It was set up, over multiple films, and It had more impact...
      Because we had time to get invested in not just the characters but the world they live in.
      I sincerely wish Warner Bros would stop rushing everything. A good death of Superman movie can never be done now in this universe because they've already killed the guy and made the promise to bring him back. That kind of thing needed time.
      You don't pull that shit in the second movie!
      Ideally, they need to set up a DC centered studio to rival that of Marvel...or put together a group of people with a clearly mapped vision who actually have FAITH in the material their adapting.

    Captain America would prefer not to kill BUT he won't lose sleep if he catches bodies. Lol He's a US military soldier who served in WW2 for God's sake. He wasn't exactly telling everybody to make sure they don't kill any Nazi's.

    Captain America was a soldier in World War 2. In The First Avenger, we see him leading soldiers into battle, firing a gun, and blowing up tanks without batting an eye.
    In The Avengers, Cap takes out multiple Chitauri, again without batting an eye. He also gets into a shootout with one of Loki’s operatives on the Helicarrier, and he fires repeatedly at the dude with an assault rifle. Again without batting an eye.
    In Winter Soldier, there’s a shot of him bashing a dude in the face with his shield so hard he bends over backwards and goes flying off a boat into the middle of the ocean. Cap makes no attempt to save this guy. Cap also knocks a quinjet out of the sky, causing it to crash, presumably with a pilot inside it, without batting an eye.
    In Age of Ultron, they’ve literally been hunting HYDRA for months, and their presence generates noticeable fear in the eyes of the HYDRA operatives. Von Strucker orders them to fight “to the last man” implying that death is a thing that happens here.
    In Civil War, he throws Crossbone’s men around like they’re nothing. Many of them slam into walls and vehicles and such and are most likely not getting up again.
    In Infinity War, he repeatedly punches Outriders in the face with the spiky end of his Wakandan shield and they do not get up again.
    Not only has Cap killed people, on screen, but it doesn’t even seem to bother him anymore, because he knows he’s doing what’s right.
    But, long story short, Cap was a soldier in WW2. He has killed before. You don’t take part in as many battles as he did (especially not as part of a strike force) without killing people. And he has done so frequently.
    And that’s just the MCU. He was active as a soldier for a much longer period of time in the comics and has fought wars, both terrestrial and cosmic. Comic Captain America has probably killed several times as many people as MCU Cap, at this point.

    The Bucky is the winter soldier thing is not really a coincidence
    That’s established Comic Lore
    Usually in Caps backstory his friend/ fellow soldier/ sidekick Bucky Barnes gets separated from him and captured by an enemy, brainwashed, and turned into the winter soldier.
    I can see how that would seem contrived to a non-comic nerd.

    Im sorry but do you not know why the other Avengers didn't show up? Iron man is retired, Thor is busy winning wars on different planets, Hawkeye is with his family, and the Hulk ... well, do I even need to explain why he would be a bad teammate? But also, one thing I love about the third act is that its more than just about the actual battle. Cap's freedom speech proves that well. None of the other Avengers would've added any extra value to that aspect. If they had all just destroyed the ships, then HYDRA could have just said that the Avengers were sabotaging SHIELD's plans for "security." Cap had to show the world what HYDRA really was and what they were going to do. Also, he most certainly would not want Thor, Hulk, or any other Avengers because they might have killed Bucky.
