Hard to believe Waterfront is 39 years old and Verona was recorded 34 years ago. Still sounds so fresh and powerful- am bouncing around the house listening to it. Saw them last year in Dublin- absolutly brilliant. Hopefully they will announce a tour shortly.
Here I am in my early 50’s walking my dogs in south Texas reminiscing about my first air cadet camp back in Scotland listening to this song and other Simple Minds hits.

I was there in Verona one of the two nights. I've seen some of the best live bands of the 80's / 90's in my life. This is the live performance n. 1 to me. It was absolutely fantastic !
Lucky you!! It must have been amazing live, such a great concert in such a great setting. Luckely we still have the full video here. I also saw them live a few times. They could perform like no other on stage, so powerful. They are still my no.1 as they were back in '87 when I was 18y old.
I remember playing their live double-album many times so loud in my room in the dark, it was magic. The day after the neighbors from a few houses down the road were always complaining about the noise..LOL

For me at the Arena of Verona in 89 will remain the concert of all time with that of the Zenith of Paris in 1986 ... Thank you guys for it's two mythical concert!

Favorite song. They opened live with this song so many times. Like crashing ocean waves, suddenly the atmosphere became magic. This is one heck of a song

I was there that night. It was so awesome and I hold that memory so close to my heart. They totally rocked that that arena. Missed the last train home and had to hitchhike with a friend.

I used to have this concert on VHS tape and I got my ex boyfriend into their music.. He loved Jim Kerrs highkicks and the way he moved his hands etc.. He had a amazing stage presence.. I took the ex to see them live in Glasgow around 2002..I was 22 and it was my first concert and still stands out as one of the best live concerts I've been too.. When we used to have a drink at the weekend's this concert on VHS would get played every other weekend lol.. Jim's energy on stage is awesome. x🎤💙🙏SIMPLE MIND'S are Simply amazing.. x
They opened with this in Croke Park Dublin 86. Backed by The Waterboys. Magic day.

Did they finish with this number at Hammersmith Odeon (I think) in 1983? I remember it as the most dramatic finish to a concert I've ever seen. Who else was there? I know I wasn't the only one in the audience.😂

Im glad i grew up in the 90`s so i could experience this amazing music when i grow older, dosnt matter if you grew up at a certain time.
Been listening to this for years and bought the album in the early 80s, never fails to make me smile. Superb live performance and they’re just so top notch and brilliant.

Bono had a better voice and Sunday Blood Sunday from Under a Blood Red Sky Live is their equivalent of this rock masterpiece 😁
