Okay so I have some Ravenclaw headcanons/ideas as a Ravenclaw myself:
1. The common room has a secret passage to the library
- I can just imagine all the first-years discovering it themselves and working it out, and it being a secret that isn't really a secret in the house, with everyone sneaking down.
2. Ravenclaw has amazing parties and they should be called 'Ravenclaw Raves'
- These parties are just very secretive. While everyone in the school hears about the Gryffindors having intense parties, the Ravenclaws stay up late together and have amazing parties during special occassions, because they are organised so well. There is amazing music either played by talented students or somehow cast expertly by older years, and everyone just vibes and lets themselves feel free.
3. Ravenclaws are all comfortable with each other in the common room
- Some Ravenclaws might have false personas or be very shy around others, but at least after a few years, they become very open around nearly everyone in the common room, so they hang around there and feel free.
4. They don't have a strict curfew (or they have a VERY strict curfew)
- I feel like Ravenclaw would either have the most relaxed or non-existent curfew, because heaps of students are night-owls (ik, the bird reference), while some are early-birds (another bird reference). They would just help students work out what works best for them, and give them freedom to do things. And, students can work on homework and assignments if they really need to. It just lets them work out early on whatever is best for them and their sleep.
-OR Ravenclaw would be super strict with curfew. Professor Flitwick and the older years would be whipping out studies about the dangers of staying up late, and telling everyone what the most ideal sleep pattern is and forcing that on the house, especially the younger years in an effort to 'instill good habits' in them.
5. They have peer tutoring and study sessions in the common room and/or library.
- This could be friend groups or year-groups studying together, or older years tutoring the younger years, but it would make sense since they want to make sure everyone does well academically and learns well. This could also be lessons on using quills for first-years, or etiquette like ballroom dancing for functions being taught in the common room.
6. On being stuck outside the common room:
- There would be an infamous pile of pillows and blankets outside the common room/tower for people who can't get the riddle.
- And/or the door would swing open if you were still outside by the time school-wide curfew comes around
- Or a prefect or Professor Flitwick would be notified to come help you.
- And sometimes, the riddle is really hard, so a bunch of Ravenclaws just end up sitting on cushions outside the common room, irritated, but discussing/debating the riddle together, hanging out or reading books and eventually being okay, almost brought together by it all. And they swear that sometimes the door knocker laughs at them....
- Some Ravenclaws just don't get the riddle very often so they bring around a lot of their books with them so they don't have to go back to the common room and get stuck trying to get in and ending up late to a class, worse of all, potions with Professor Snape....
7. They are all (or mostly) neutral and non-judging.
- For example, if you were in a house like Gryffindor and were friends with a Slytherin you would be bullied or at least teased about it. Or if you were in Slytherin and you were a muggle-born you would be treated terribly by a lot of the members (from the books at least, like Draco, Crabbe, Goyle, Pansy, etc.) But if you were in Ravenclaw and had friends outside of the house they would not mind, if you were muggle-born, half-blood, pure-blood, if you were related to a Death Eater, it doesn't matter, as you can make your own impressions.
8. This one isn't really a headcanon, but more of an idea of like a little tradition.
-The Ravenclaws have a bit of a tradition where they take the secret passage down to the library, steal a book from the Restricted Section, and make a copy of it before returning it. This means that the Ravenclaws have copies of most of the Restricted Section books in the common room.
So yeah that is my long list of ideas. GO RAVENCLAW!!!!!!! I am so proud to be part of Ravenclaw, and even though we may be a bit underrated (our lack of character representation other than like Luna and Cho, Flitwick, and then Lockhart 😭), we are still amazing!

I'm a Gryffindor, my cousin Ciarra is a Ravenclaw and she has a boyfriend that does not have much knowledge about Harry Potter but she joined for her 2018 and got Hufflepuff, I watched them and she used her inner Ravenclaw to make him feel ultimately proud of being a Hufflepuff even if he obviously doesn't even know it kind of have a bad reputation, she knows how to exactly make anyone think they are the new thing and sometimes cause them to rebel for being what they are from society's expectations LOL BUT SERIOUSLY HUFFLEPUFF IS AS POWERFUL AS ANY OF THE HOUSES, THE CHARMS ESPECIALLY IN REAL LIFE NOT EVERYONE HAS THAT. I told this not because it has a bad reputation but somehow learned from my cousin's views. She has a lot more great views on Hufflepuff tho can't just say everything and I just told you the one I liked the most from her words.
