interesting scrolled down and see comments of 3 others with 4690 after fixing a unijoint found I have upset the rear steer and think it might be the adjustable cap for the electonic sensing still yet to find out one very important thing I read on a forum keep away from the wheels when it starts as they crushed someone and was very lucky to survive Not sure what the difference is with the wheel sensors with the 48s compared to the 46 after finding the problem and reading the service book I have no clue why electronics were fitted anyway the old 2470 has cables that seemed to work another point the cover on the sensor has to have special silicon not ordinary silicon as my neighbor informed me he had troubles and got a 44 something working again but not properly got no idea why so many versions of this is made and then after a while obsolete things I would be very confident that the new ones now wont be running in 20 years time good job working out a option
Great fix, in reality the crab steer and individual steer was more gimmick then worthy. I've owned 3 of these tractors and never used anything but coordinated steering
have you had any issues with the front and rear tires coming out of alignment? ie front tires point forwards and the rear tires are pointing slightly left/right?
We haven't had any alignment issues since the operation was done. Pretty much the only thing that could cause alignment issues later would be a fluid leak from a cylinder seal.
Crab-steering was an interesting idea, but the reliability of articulated tractors won out for a good reason. We still have a 4494 kicking around, but between issues with the powershit and the crab steering its just not worth fucking around with for anyone with anything better to do. Nice to see your ingenuity tho.
@@danieledwards5529 Here is the quick demo video that we made: th-cam.com/video/CKhXeDeN4Mw/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=BOVideos When driving the tractor, it steers the same as it did before modification (in the mode with all 4 wheels steering) - we honestly haven't noticed any real differences.
Hi, that's a good question. Using a tee-fitting (to avoid the drilling) might not get all of the air out from both sides of the cylinder pistons when bleeding the system because the fluid might bypass the cylinders during bleeding. Our goal with the drilling & extra valves was to bleed all the air from the system (both sides of all of the cylinder pistons) and to have the wheels aligned when finished. Another side note is that there can't be can't be any fluid leaks in the system, otherwise this will cause steering issues - so when we disassembled all of the cylinders we replaced all of the seals too.
Thankyou for posting this. I will definitely give it a try in the future on my 4690.
Thats awsome. I just picked up a 4690 case. I'm going to do this fix to it right away

Great advice.
It's a pity in this day and age new parts can't be made for them

How do I get ahold of you have a 4894 down with bad steering sensor and have not been able to locate one.
Hi Dennis, I just replied to your email.
Interesting 🧐
Hello we are attempting this with a 4890 and having some issues, is there a way I could contact you with some questions? Thanks
Hi, yes, you can send me an email and then I will likely get you in contact with my dad who actually did the work on the tractor. 79vwrabbit@gmail.com
Did you get this to work ?? I want to try this on my.4690
Would this work on a 4690 as well?
Yes sir, it will work on a Case 4690 too.
@@bovideos9751 Thanks
@@bovideos9751 Do you have a video of it driving and steering after the modification?

@@bovideos9751 Thanks. Looks good.
why drill a hole. instead of using t.piece???

That is the problem with this stuff they make is so you can't get parts it's B's having big tractor like that with unubtainiam part
